    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  3 года назад +1

      Thanks, when you modify your domain's MX record, you are actually changing the server that will receive your emails. In general, you can't have emails in two different servers (services) at the same time and for the same domain. You need to make a decision about where your emails are going to work, depending on that, you will need to modify/adjust your domain's MX records. Let me know if you need any clarification.

      @@itwithcarlos Thanks a lot for your quick response. I am going to keep my Zoho email, but I am thinking to buy a new domain for the same business so that I can provide Microsoft emails with the new business domain for future employees because people are more familiar with Microsoft emails than Zoho emails.
      Could you please give me some honest feedback about my idea?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  3 года назад +1

      @@nv9297 I have seen businesses using more than one domain for different reasons and in your case, it would allow you to try and see if you find value on MS 365. Keep in mind that you will be able (if you decide it in the future) to move your original domain over MS 365 and have both domains under the same email service. In this case you could have all employees with both domain names (one mailbox with aliases). Hope it helps.

    Thank you for this informative video. May I ask a question : Assume you have 3 domains set up in your admin center, as you have done.. are they all able to use 1 Ms teams site, and 1 sharepoint, or would you be forced to have 3 separate teams / sharepoints ?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  2 года назад

      Hi Eric, thank your comment.
      On your question, I haven't test that case, however, I could say that MS Team will be only one, however any user with a active license will be able to be part of the benefits of MS Teams, regardless of the domain his/her account was created. In regard to Sharepoint, the available storage space is determined by the number of active licenses. You can create Sharepoint sites that could be specifically (based on permissions) for one of your domains or a group or users. Hope it helps.

    • @itwithcarlos

      There is an option within the Exchange Online Admin center but it requires Powershell as well. It is not as simple as the other migration options. I have never used it. Thank you.

    May I ask a question? While adding these domains, is it possible to set up forwarding on them to redirect all of these newly added websites to the "main" domain that we decide?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  Год назад

      Hi Sam, if you are referring to forwarding or redirect the websites, it can be done by modifying the DNS records (A and CNAME. If you are referring to forwarding emails, yes, it can create aliases under the additional domains to redirect them. Hope it helps. Thank you and have a nice day!

    Once alias is created. Is it just a case of adding alias email account to outlook in addition to primary email?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  2 месяца назад +1

      No exactly, the alias is just a nickname for your primary email address, however, you can enable the ability to reply as an alias in MS 365 admin center. Here is a video that explain how:

    Hi Carlos. Does creating a second user cost an additional subscription charge? I understand adding second domain and creating aliases is free for the original user, but with an *additional* user, we are requesting additional licences for Office products, and Microsoft is usually not that generous.

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  3 года назад

      Hi Imran, you are correct. Adding additional domains and creating users on existing users do not have additional cost. But if you want to add/create additional users, you will need to purchase the additional license for that new user :(

    So, this is how MSPs manage multiple businesses emails? Just add a new domain and just manage their emails on the same interface?

    • @itwithcarlos

      I have seen people managing different businesses that belong to the same person but I don't think using it as MSPs is practical. It could be problematic when people decide to migrate/split the service. Thank you.

    Carlos. Can i use one domain and make it work with 2 hosting providers?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  2 года назад +1

      It depends, not for the same service. I mean, you could have your website with one provider and your email service with another provider.
      In general, you can't have the email service with two providers unless you use a special configuration (hybrid) where some email accounts are with one provider and other with another one. I particularly don't recommend this type of configuration. It may present many limitations and is more complex. Thank you.
