    Thanks.. yes we made that mistake back in 2017 but luckily found an IT consulting company here in the USA that was able to restore to us control of our M365 tenant, effectively kicking GD out the back door, for a very reasonable price. We have too many domains with GD to easily leave completely but that could still happen one day. Cheers!

    Thank you for this video. I have been with GoDaddy for 15 years with no problems and then all of the sudden, this year, my email service stops working. In addition, I can no longer login to my GoDaddy online account using any browser or any computer and after spending hours on hold and on the phone with techs trying to solve the problem, a GoDaddy representative told me that my problem is a known issue for which GoDaddy has no solution. My company's email has now been completely down for an entire week and one of their techs told me I was lucky that I have not been down for more than 10 days which is apparently an average response time to my issue. I have had three techs in a row literally put me on hold for 20 minutes (after waiting on hold for 20 to 30 minutes just to get through to them) telling me they needed to speak to someone about my inability to login to my account and then after all of that the line hangs up without them ever coming back on the line.
    I don't know what is going on at GoDaddy, but I am having to spend my day trying to find a new email host and migrate my email to that new host. I am going to ask GoDaddy for a refund of the pro rata portion of the services I have paid for and if they deny me that refund, I will migrate all of my domain and email hosting services away from them anyway and walk away from a considerable amount of money. It’s not worth it. Do not make the mistake I made. Do not let GoDaddy host any of your domains, websites, or emails. They appear to be having serious internal problems. Don't do it!

      @TruthDragon. Год назад

      @@dawgle2715 Did you read my comment in full? It is not one problem that is the issue. The issue is that there is no ability or willingness on the part of GoDaddy to fix my problem, even after hours of waiting. You can't provide a worse level of service than GoDaddy has done in my case. As a company, they have lost control of there own software, it does not get worse than that. My company is 100% reliant on having a functional email system. That is how I get orders for my work. It is the lifeblood of my company and most companies so having even an hour of downtime is a problem. If it were a minor problem and they fixed it after wasting an hour of my time, ok, maybe I give them a pass, but this is a massive problem and months have gone by and they have not fixed the problem nor are they willing to. When you try to get there techs to help you, after hours of waiting on hold, they just pass the buck to someone else or flat out admit they have no idea how to fix the issue. That's not one little problem, it is the problem of all problems. It is utterly the worst experience and worst customer service I have every had in my entire life of any of the thousands of vendors I have had to deal with. Unacceptable under any circumstance-one time or 100 times! This is a one and done situation even if they have been my vendor for 1 million years.

    I've been with GoDaddy since 2010 - but, here's a good reason never to use GoDaddy. In December of 2021 I went to the Microsoft site and purchased a subscription for Visio. Then, I couldn't get a license from Microsoft. Why? My email was my business email - that happened to be hosted by GoDaddy. Microsoft told me to contact GoDaddy's customer support (an awful experience BTW). So, I call GoDaddy support (hours on hold) - but support tells me they don't handle Visio licenses. I had to contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint to get the license that I had paid for. I've since moved my business domain and hosting to another hosting site. I'll never use GoDaddy again. And, as for Microsoft - I consider what happened to me a bait-and-switch fraud. I wish I could ditch Microsoft - but it isn't that easy. Yeah, anyway, just stay away from GoDaddy. GoDaddy is the new Comcast.

    I have a question please. I purchased my domain through GoDaddy a few days ago, and unfortunately, I purchased a Microsoft 365 email subscription a year. I didn't purchase it at first, because I have owned other domains in the past, and has no issues setting up some email accounts under my domains (not purchased thru GoDaddy). I scoured my new GoDaddy dashboards for my email set up, possible POP3 addresses, or any other email settings. The areas I found were locked, stating I didn't opt in for an email address. And if I wanted more than 1 email address, I had to pay for each one separately. Is there a way to set up an email under my domain, without opting into their Microsoft 365 products? I would prefer to stay away from any applications that have monthly subscription fees.

    Jonathan, thank you. Another reason that I think you did mention in a way. You cannot simply buy more storage for M365. First, teams/SP 1TB limit exceeded, so I want to buy more storage, but MS will not sell it ala carte because I use G-D. G-D says I need at least 5 seats for the next level up. Then I find that the data exceeded limit error is affiliated to a file folder and all the file/videos in there add up to 200 GB, not 1.4 terabytes. So I backed up and deleted the entire folder (double delete). Still shows 1.4 terabytes in team files/shareP. Nice. I if it is not gone by properly showing the smaller size I will need to migrate my teams site and delete the old. As for customer service - G-daddy has been pretty good otherwise.

    Thanks for a great and eye-opening post. Wow.
    I'm in the US and have used GoDaddy for years for our small family business. We have three POP3 email addresses that we access via Outlook desktop. I (owner) use all three and our daughter uses two of them. Even though we're constantly being prompted to switch to Exchange, we've always set it up as POP3 because the messages download to our desktop Outlook and anything another user does with what's in their mailbox, it doesn't affect what I'm doing. For example, some tax agencies (and others) require a different email address for different accounts, so I'll use the "info" one as a secondary address. When we replaced 2 computers I didn't realize one had automatically set up as Exchange (via GoDaddy) and when she deleted the tax notifications (because they have nothing to do with her) they were {{{poof!!!}}} gone from my email as well. With POP3 they remain in my in-box but not in hers.
    But since being forced to use Exchange there's nothing but headaches. We're back to not being able to delete (or move) any messages because they are synched to the other users. It's also behaving so frustratingly in ways we do NOT want. It seems it's something new every day, and there seems to be no way to get around it other than just ride it out. It's been giving me the saved reminders on the "info" account (which my daughter has always used and where all of her reminders are) but not on my own. Today it won't download my messages, only the info and one other account. To retrieve them (I KNEW they were there because I sent them from my personal email to the business one) I had to go online. It never downloaded to Outlook for me. I'm at my wit's end with it.
    So if I can find an alternative way to set up outside of GoDaddy, do you think I'll continue with these types of issues? And is there ANY way possible to go back to POP3 if I don't use GoDaddy's MS 365?

    • @hyperspace32
      @hyperspace32 4 месяца назад

      I also receive emails via POP3/SMTP in Outlook Desktop. I considered using Microsoft's Exchange product for my business. The idea of accessing my emails from both my desktop and phone is appealing, and I want copies of sent items to be kept. However, I'm still unsure if Exchange is the right product for me. I was planning to sign up directly with Microsoft rather than through GoDaddy.

    Haven't figured out yet (but when I do I will update this) - but I can't figure out what you are talking about when you say MS 365 from GoDaddy is inferior - unless you are talking about downloaded apps, which you clearly are not. Where do you get your information that GoDaddy has "re-skinned" MS 365 and is offering an inferior version? How can I tell this when logged in? What you have not mentioned is what happened to me: I just installed the apps from my GoDaddy Business Professional (web-based) subscription.. and the version turned out to be 2016 once installed. That is a much-outdated version, and GoDaddy gave no advance warning of this fact. Not sure if they have anything to do with it. It is probably like you are mentioning, the fact that I have now got two MS 365 accounts, one personal (that entitles me to MS Office 2016) and this other through GoDaddy that *could* entitle me to download later apps, but somehow the wrong account is getting looked up. I will edit this comment when I get to the bottom of it, but I had to first raise the point that I can't see how GoDaddy could have "re-skinned" MS Office and offered an inferior version for web-based users.

    Is it complicated to migrate? I wonder if it’s a good idea to test the Minimum Viable Product with the GoDaddy integration and then migrate after the business is successfully market tested.
    Once profitability has been achieved, the migration would be the next priority reinvestment used for the yearly fees Microsoft charges through the app store on a Macbook.
    Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems that GoDaddy allows for monthly fees.
    If this is true that would allow to run several pilot protects simultaneously with the same initial investment amount and filter out only the good “seeds” that grow the businesses organically.

I found out after all my companies files disappeared from the onedrive cloud despite sharing ownership with my secondary admin account, I cant seem to contact Microsoft because every link sends me back to godaddy who says they cant restore my files since the email was deleted 30days ago. Can Microsoft restore them, that is if I can find a awy to contact them directly? All phone numbers online lead back to "online support which links me back to godaddy. I have 50 employees who depend on me.

    ARG! I currently have microsoft 365 and so far so good no problems. But I also have godaddy and they recently advised my microsoft 365 will expire in march 2023 and i have to renew or they will cancel! What do I do or is it a gimmick to make me us/pay godaddy 365? My official microsoft 365 direct with them doesnt expire until 11 2023! My IT guy has been using 365 direct through godaddy for years without using godaddy 365. I wonder are they stopping this and forcing the change and you must go through godaddy?

      So there are two things here - your domain name, the @domain.com
      This can reside with GoDaddy
      But try and move your Microsoft 365 away from GoDaddy before it expires.

    I'm very sad to watch your video after I just bought Microsoft 365 Emails from Godaddy :( I already started having problems. I wanted to buy Microsoft 365 Apps for Business from Microsoft, but I couldn't make the setup because the system says my domain is already used in another panel on Godaddy. I don't know hot to solve this issue. For Business packages they say both emails and apps should be on the same server for one domain.

    GoDaddy hides functionality for one drive and make managing a 1TB one drive account useless. Aggravating and hardly a solution for a small business unless you want your business to fail.

    When you do a video like this you loose any credibility you might have had by passing on "rumors". Stick to facts you can defend or don't do a sales video like this where you clearly are fishing for new business. We don't mind the "soft sell" if you provide value we can use from factual information.

      I have to side with Johnathan. Godaddy is about up-selling and limiting their users scalability without purchasing add-ons. I am monumentally pissed off that I was essentially forced to migrate to Godaddy's MS365 and was told it would be at no charge. Here we are 2 years later and they want $191.00 for one year of service when I already have an MS 365 package that includes most of the MS products. My email was turned off and now I have to either figure out how to migrate to the MS subscription I am already paying for or just give in and pay Godaddy. Johnathan, I would love to have a conversation and employ your services. UUUUGGGGHHHH! Godaddy SUCKS!
