Been listening to Tool for almost 30 years and still discover new things when I listen. The best band of all time IMO. The new album shows their growth as a group. Can’t imagine where they could go from this new album. Perfection 🤟
Tempest. It's about a "storm" but probably means that rough times in life will always come and go and if you think your life will be perfect forever, you are going to be in for a rude awakening. Just acknowledge those times come, prepare for it, and live through it. If you are caught off guard by tough times in life, that's your fault. Outstanding song
They don't mean tempest in a literal sense. The lyrics are actually about how politicians are liars who lull the masses with lies.
Special mention to Justin Chancellor for laying down that bass in concrete! What a track.
It's their Swan song. It has a bit of excellence in every respected instrument. And Maynard's lyrics and voice are the icing on the cake.
I really hope not Swan Song in its true sense, but not a bad note to go out on. So weird to be 36 now and remembering being 14 upon my introduction to this band. They have shaped so much of my life
The timing on this album is kept by the bass allowing the drummer to be insane.

So many great tracks on this album, and this is one of THE best!! Tool really takes you on a journey! Loved them since day 1. There's been so many changes & maturations to their sound. This album was worth the 13 year wait!!

This album has songs that I feels like it showcases every member. But this one seems like a collaboration of all the members and all the albums, reminiscent of 12 different Tool songs in one.
