    That pretty much wraps their WHOLE discography guys😳 what an eye opening journey it has been, have met so many new people and made so many new connections through this band and it’s only the beginning!🙌🏻 has been an absolute pleasure to bring you guys along with me - I’ve loved every second of it! By no means the end of the Tool videos but we’ve pretty much covered every track on every album!😨 Still have a few live videos etc to work on so you can look forward to those as well but for now, thank you all❤️ #ToolArmy 🔧

      It's been a good ride, glad the band's been to your liking. You could always try scheduling a livestream or something for a special event if you think it could work out. If you wanted the Top 10 to be more of a discussion it could work out that way. I've streamed on RUclips before and it's pretty good about things.

    You clearly love Tool. You clearly have excellent taste in music. One of my favorite bands. One of Maynard's favorite bands, adams possibly the single biggest inspiration for Tools music is Pink Floyd. The style, the depth, the surrealism, the creepy artistic videos, the world class untouched quality, the mind blowing live performances. React to Pink Floyd.

    • @tristanwright9733
      @tristanwright9733 4 года назад

      I can't even begin to describe how many things are wrong with that statement. Zeppelin alone is farrrrrrr more influential on their playing. In fact I can barely ever hear Floyd in their music. Not sure why people keep thinking this.

    • @tristanwright9733

    • @matucker1621
      @matucker1621 3 года назад

      Pink Floyd is psychedelic. Tool is the most psychedelic band ever without even maybe meaning to be. I think they’re more like a rock band who thought they were an orchestra but with only 4 said screw it we can accomplish this without the normal number of people in a symphony. There are movements within their songs clearly just like a symphony piece. And Maynards lyrics and voice aren’t only an outstanding poem just to read them but also he becomes an instrument. I love they way he used to sing songs almost purposefully inarticulately (Push it = Put shit) is a great example. But there are so many others. But I get the reference even though they sound nothing alike. They both produce a Spiritual journey on or off psychedelic drugs. Tools is just a bit deeper and a lot more powerful.

    In May 2002, Tool played the Ozzfest festival at Punchestown Racecourse- and had to headline the day itself, 'cos Ozzy Osbourne was apparantly ill and cuddnt play that day. I remember heading excitingly in the the venue, to be told that by the announcers. A lot of fans were dissapointed by Ozzy's no show, but it was up to Tool then, to fixx it. Laturalus was doing the business big time, and a few of us were still feelin good about being able to see them in the SFX in Dublin the year before. They could have played on familiar ground by opening with Stinkfist, but instead they emerged onstage to the sludgy landslides of this song. The walloping riff tumbled off the stage and leveled the crowd. Some people there -I dont tink had a clue what the Hell was going on!!
    You are right on the money about noting how this song sees beginnings of the more progressive ,entrancing side emerging forth- the opening minutes. Then, they smash down the dam, and flood the place with 46&2 style riffs. You can really hear where they were going nxt with this one, especially. Its the final proper Rock song on the album, before the experimental, head warping Disgustipated uncoils even more weird tings to ya.
    The album grew on ya over your way listening through it. That, was really interesting to see. I tink that then, if ya go back and hear the songs again individually and alongside other songs from em that you know and like, they will show themselves to you more. Great journey all the same, lad!! Looking forward to seeing a Top 10 Tool from ya, and comparing them to my own personal favorites. Maith an fear, a chara!

      Theyre old. They still want to create. We will have another Tool album by 2025. Regardless of what people think. It took them 5 years to make this album. Not 13. People are dumb. Theyve never had more than a 6 year period without music. Minus 10000 days to Fear Inoculum. In which they toured until 2012 and broke for 2 years. Tool is not done by any stretch of the means.

    I think you need to include all the stuff on Salival as well. It's not technically an album but it's a good listen.

    I have been a Tool fan since Undertow. My favorite is 10,000 Days but I have not got Fear Inoculum yet. I saw them like in Reno Nevada a few years ago. What an amazing show.
    Since you like Tool you might also like Animals as Leaders. I was introduced to them by a fellow Tool fan.
    My favorite songs are "Cafo" and "Inamorata" which are back to back on there first album from 2009.
    I would expect you to like them.

    You prayed for the heaviest drop... Ask and ye shall receive lyrically such an important song for me as the subject matter is exactly what happened to me as I was born into an over zealous religious family...flood helped me cope with a lot of the conflicting emotions growing up and my eyes fully open

    I think you should listen to disgustipated even if you don't react to it finish the Tool journey. What band is next though; more Deftones, more A perfect Circle, maybe Mars Volta, maybe Opeth, or are you going to go in a new route altogether? Interesting to see what's next.

    Just like the title of the song, I always picture waves crashing against a levee, slowly building momentum and weight until the levee cracks and ultimately gives way, unleashing the flood into the city.

    Thanks for the journey Drew, appreciated reviewing the discography through you and watching you evolve in your listening.
    As for a top 10, the only correct answer to "what is the best Tool song?" is "the last track I listened to and it's on a repeat loop!"
    Thanks again

    Top 10 sounds great. I was hoping for Disgustipated for the fun of it, plus the hidden track within it.
    Either way, it's been a pleasure to watch and listen as you became a #ToolArmy member.
    Another good progressive metal band to check out is Soen. 4 albums. Early sound has Tool influence, but came into their own over time with some great music. Cognitive is their first album. The first track though is like an interlude if I recall. I hope you'll give them a try.

    I've been suggesting this one and I'm so glad the day is finally here. It is definitely my favorite on the album. That drumming is nasty, which is one reason I love it so much. And I'm with some of the other comments don't forget track 69 disgustipated it is really cool.

    Happy that your Undertow experience ended on a good note. Flood was a good way to foreshadow what was to come in evolution of their song writing.
    When I hear 7empest now, I get the sense that it pays homage to Flood and ties together almost every era in their musical history.

    The intro is the water coming in, giant waves slamming down... Maynard in the background chanting "here comes the water"...
    It paints such a perfect image in my head.

    There's a secret track after flood. Not saying to react to it, but definitely check it out either way. I recommend checking out the rest of Salival. "You Lied" and "Maynard's Dick" are top notch. There's also one more hidden track, which is on Opiate.

    If you truly have an open mind, check out The Mars Volta. "Goliath" is a good intro track. "Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus" is my recommendation though. If you don't want to react to them, give them a chance on your own and listen to DeLoused in the Comatorium. It's one of the best albums ever.
