That underwater slide is legitimately terrifying. Those ride designers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.
I experienced the underwater slide in Duinrell/NL and it was kind of terrifying but also really thrilling. They used to have a timed bell you could push to test your breath. If you can hold your breath until the PING sounds you were safe. It really was an experience i won't miss.
Dude same, watching anything where people are trapped somewhere, especially underwater, is terrifying. It’s like the took one of my worst nightmares and made it into a slide lol
It reminds me of the air hotel that is being planned, one small thing that happens and everybody dies, except for the air hotel it just takes a few birds to kill millions of people
We live next to Tikibad in the Netherlands but I never knew that Fly over existed and now I read it there is no more Fly over because ppl wouldn’t want to go on it because it was too scary.
About the cannonball loop at action park: my mom was an employee there for many years when she was a teenager. I can confirm they did pay employees 100$ to test the slide. My mom never did it personally but it did happen. And the dummy tests are also true. While my mom mainly worked in the water sports area (Bumper boats, river boats, etc) she can confirm that all of these allegations are true as she worked there in the time it was open.
I rode it twice as a customer. I was rough, hitting each of the seems as you were pressing through the loop. Both rides were very consistent, but I followed their directions to the letter. If some didn't hold the right position, or piked a bit, I could see a rider having trouble if they diminished their speed at all on the downhill.
I was at that swimming pool, it's in Germany, they have both of the stand-up slides and the wind-powered one! Sadly both stand-up slides were closed when I went there :(
I have ridden these, and it's a cool experience! Although on the long one it's kinda hard to keep standing free on the last bend, you will most likely use the sides to your advantage
There is a waterpark in Germany called Aquamagis where they have two stand-up slides and a wind slide. (As well as one that ends mid-air and drops you into the water.) I live near it and I need to say that the small (the green one you saw in the video) stand-up slide isn't that exciting. Of course it was very cool when I rode it the first time but after you done it multiple times it starts to get pretty boring. The big one is more like an actual waterslide and is a lot better reridable (although it's very hard to stand up the whole time). But the one I think is more enjoyable then both of them is the wind slide. The speed it hits is just insane for a waterslide. I rode a lot of rollercoasters that are a lot faster but experiencing this on a slide while you sit on a raft with no restraints is another level. When I rode it for the first time it scared the shit out of me. So yeah what I just wanted to say is that even if they look very cool these 2 slides aren't that great as you would think and there are other slides (even at the same park) which are a lot more enjoyable!
I actually rode the Fly-Over at Tikibad, the #2 on this list. I was a kid, practiced holding my breath an hour before i had the guts to go on it. The ride was i believe 11 seconds long, so even if you didn't draw a large enough breath before entering you would be fine. Also, the ride was pretty lame, it was just a thing you could tell your friends: i rode the underwaterslide! Kinda like i'm doing now, i guess :)

System Klarer is to water slides as S&S Sansei is to rollercoasters. Enough said. :) Also, I'm surprised more of these models haven't made it to American shores. You'd think something like Cannonball or SlideWheel would be right up the alley of a big name chain like Six Flags or Cedar Fair...
Mount Olympus actually bought a SlideWheel during IAAPA 2019. Even though I am not sure if the project moves forward or was canceled due to the current situation.
@@coasterb1 Cannonball yes, SlideWheel no. SlideWheel is as safe as other slides, probably even safer, since the speeds and forces are low. At the same time, it is new, quirky and interesting, making it the right combination (safe and high attraction) for a great slide.
The SlideWheel sure does look cool and different! And it looks really safe compared to some insanity I grew up seeing in Wisconsin Dells. If I ever get the chance to, I’m definitely riding one!
At first glance, the underwater water slide may SEEM terrifying, but think about it for a minute...When you're on ANY water slide you really can't take a huge breath in on the way down. You just sort of have the ILLUSION that you could. Have you ever gotten a tickle in your nose midway through a water slide, so you inadvertently inhale for a split second? So how would being ENTIRELY underwater be much different from being MOSTLY underwater? I don't think it would be.
This brought back more nostalgia than it should have. Always hated the park inspector though. He was a fucking dick telling me what scenery fit in my park
There’s a version of it at water country USA in Virginia. It’s called rampage there, and as a kid, was my favorite ride. Still operating exactly as I remember it.
i remember when i went to action park back in summer 2015, i saw the billboard for the cannonball loop. i do believe that it was built but never opened to the general public. given the park’s reputation as once being one of the most dangerous water parks in the world, i don’t think any more risks were going to be taken.
So about the fly over/underwater slide. The reason it closed, was indeed due to high costs. But the reason of the costs is different. In the slide there was a system measuring how long a visitor was taking to ride the slide. If this would take too long, the slide would drain at an enormous speed. That, as you can probably imagine, isn't cheap. This system was also very oftenly triggered due to people wanting to test the emergency stop out, or by people getting scared mid-ride. The ride actually was very safe, and no accidents ever happened on the ride.
id love to ride on any of these slides except for the last two and the cannonball loops safer successor. yeah its safer to be strapped into a pod, but i feel like at that point i'd just want to ride a coaster, ya know? now, if someone invented a log ride that went upside down... I'd be interested. the ferris wheel slide is definitely my favorite, followed by the cobra. they just look like so much fun and a great experience to share with friends and family.
Someone who loves holding their breath thought it was a good idea 💡 😂 which sadly is not me. My dad is great at it though. He tells me stories of how in Mexico he would swim via an underground tunnel to get over to a cavernous area idk 😐 where o earth 🌎 that is but now I must ask.
It really wasn't that bad. The slide was only 10 seconds long or so. And it pushed you trough automaticly. It really was pretty boring other then it being under water. If you can hold your breath for 10 seconds you'd be fine.
@@MrWIZ9000 the idea of the slide was a lot scarier then riding the slide itself. Once you went trough once or twice that disapeared completely and it lost it's thrill. The first time doing it was awesome though. Kind of nerve wrecking lol.
I'm pretty sure I was the first one who came up with that idea a few weeks ago in the comment section of an earlier upload. Nonetheless, I'm glad other people think it's a good suggestion for a video. 👍
@@vaughntoothman1992 No no no! It's fine! 😂 I know it's a coincidence. I was just saying. British Thrillseeker said that they came up with it before me anyways. It doesn't matter who came up with the idea first.
I was at the park with the underwater slide. Great Park with a lots of slides. I was too scared to for the underwater slide, but my best friend did it. You had to prove to a lifeguard that you can hold your breath for 30 seconds, i remember.
number 8 (1:54) i lived there and went to that park very often! it was really fun haha but i was too scared to really go on that slide. it's still cool to see that it made it this list!
The aqua scoot is still one of my all time faves. There was a set at Kings Dominion long time ago. There were six altogether. Two were a double hill (kiddie) slide. This was the “medium” slope run (45° angle). There was another set that went down at a 75° angle and was INTENSE. I always thought for sure I’d fall forward but never did. After going over the top you didn’t touch the slide again until you almost hit the bottom.
Great Video! I am fortunate enough to have an Aqua Skoot less than 20 minutes from my house and it is such a fun ride! Sometimes though in the middle of skipping, riders (including myself) would flip over off of the sled which was also fun 😂.
There used to be an Aqua Skoot near me too but they ended up removing it, perhaps due to the amount of flipping that occurred. I think the water wasn’t deep enough and people probably did hit their heads from time to time. A cool design though!
Miniature water orbs which are also air bubbles can be manufactured for those who wish to swim underwater all they want. They will work like a space helmet and you won't run out of air.
I've ridden down waterslides which act like a trap door and ones which circle in a tub before dropping to the finish, including ones that connect deluxely and go off in two or three directions.
I remember going to tikibad and going in the underwater slide. I found it terrifying getting sucked in at first but after I plopped out the other end I pushed my brother in it without him knowing what it was. Good ol times...
Personally I love it when Theme Park Crazy does waterpark videos. I’m more of a waterslide fan and making videos like these shows that he cares about all amusement, rather than just the rollercoasters.
Number two in the Netherlands was an absolute disaster. I was quite young when I went on it or in it actually... and really had no idea what would happen. It sucks you in and twirls you around, hundreds of liters of water go up your nose and in your mouth, and it doesn't seem to end... it really only was about 15 seconds, but I'll be traumatized for life🤣
Yes, the fly over. I don't remember an age limit, but I'm sure there was. They made you test if you could stay under water for x amount of seconds before you could go on. This happened while queuing by going under, looking at a light. I was a little dare devil, so wasn't scared before, but when I came out, I couldn't even explain what had happened in that tube.
@@ndekamper kan je me alles vertellen hoe streng het was stond er een specifiek bordje voor deze glijbaan, kon je uberhaupt iets zien of was het echt zwart etc etc
Ah Action Park. So many great memories from my teen years, glad I got to experience it. I remember being 15 and seeing the cannonball loop and looking at my aunt like what the hell is that and how is that real or possible. I remember walking up close to it thinking how was this thing built.
I have been on a "High Fly" once. At least this one had a landing that even with a lot of good will could not be called "soft". It was like I was hitting my back on massive concrete. The very narrow slide also slowed me down quite a bit as I barely fit between its walls. They look cool, but that's about it.
If i ever owned a water park i would try to bring back Fly Over in a less expensive way and install all the other slides on this list besides cannonball loop
I used to work the cannonball loop... I could tell you stories... the dummies rumor is not true, and the $100 is not true.. and the ride did open in the 90’s it was part of alpine, we had the loop, tanks, boats, slide and bungee... that slide did not have running water, we sprayed you down at the top... it had a middle hatch and the pool, we would climb through the loop in the mornings, but never rode it, I used to tell the red shirt’s Casper tested it, that slide had a noise too it, bang, bang and bang!! People hitting the walls... the hatch was used if you did not make the loop... the splash pool was noting more then rubber pond cold fed water from the cannonball splash(cold ass water) man that loop was always fun to work, it scared the bikini off girls... okay not really but the slide did all the time, people would come out scratched on the back, as the loop had snails, and the liner was not always perfect...
There is a waterslide with a loop in West Edmonton Mall waterpark. There's a little hatch so you can get out incase you can't make the full loop (and lots of people can't.)
I’m going to lay my phone down and play this video to the end. Even tho I can’t watch it . Why? Because you were respectful to place and epilepsy warning in the beginning. The internet can be very unsafe for those of us with photogenic triggers. Much gratitude for the warning. Awesome 👏🏼
I have seen the one at Tikibad in The Netherlands a couple of times in real life when i was young, but i never dared to ride it. The idea of not being able to breathe scared me, although it was just a couple of seconds. There were (and still are) way more other cool slides to go on at Tikibad!

@Anna Youngren the differences that this one has better engineering and you're not in a body slide you're in a capsule

System Klarer is to water slides as S&S Sansei is to rollercoasters. Enough said. :)
Also, I'm surprised more of these models haven't made it to American shores. You'd think something like Cannonball or SlideWheel would be right up the alley of a big name chain like Six Flags or Cedar Fair...
It would be nice, but I doubt either of these pass the stringent safety and liability requirements in our sue happy country.
I can at least say that a few Klarer slides have been sold in the United States as of now, including one high fly but none of the others.
That stand up is soooo cool. Should build more of them in water parks.
“Water Slide 2 looks too intense for me!”
This brought back more nostalgia than it should have. Always hated the park inspector though. He was a fucking dick telling me what scenery fit in my park

I have gone on the aqua skoot
Me too when there was still one at Adventure Island. It was one of my favorite things there, I was super bummed when I found out that it closed
There’s a version of it at water country USA in Virginia. It’s called rampage there, and as a kid, was my favorite ride. Still operating exactly as I remember it.
i’ve been on one as well
i have not been on the aqua scoot
There is one in Salt Lake City Utah, I’ve been on that.
I'm so proud that Germany have the coolest slides:)
i remember when i went to action park back in summer 2015, i saw the billboard for the cannonball loop. i do believe that it was built but never opened to the general public. given the park’s reputation as once being one of the most dangerous water parks in the world, i don’t think any more risks were going to be taken.
Number two would let me finally realize my dream of being Augustus Gloop.
9:00 this aquapark is closed because 5 people died there
id love to ride on any of these slides except for the last two and the cannonball loops safer successor. yeah its safer to be strapped into a pod, but i feel like at that point i'd just want to ride a coaster, ya know? now, if someone invented a log ride that went upside down... I'd be interested.
the ferris wheel slide is definitely my favorite, followed by the cobra. they just look like so much fun and a great experience to share with friends and family.
Number 2 shouldve never been made. Who tf thought that was a good idea

I am fortunate enough to have an Aqua Skoot less than 20 minutes from my house and it is such a fun ride! Sometimes though in the middle of skipping, riders (including myself) would flip over off of the sled which was also fun 😂.
Hopefully no one's bumped their head on the side of the pool from flipping over...
Gordon Taylor Oh that would never happen because at my home water park the pool is too wide for that to happen.
There used to be an Aqua Skoot near me too but they ended up removing it, perhaps due to the amount of flipping that occurred. I think the water wasn’t deep enough and people probably did hit their heads from time to time. A cool design though!
I was once at that stand up waterslide and it was really great and cool! They have a whole bunch of even crazier slides there actually
The Stormchaser is also in the same parc as the stand up slides 😅
Miniature water orbs which are also air bubbles can be manufactured for those who wish to swim underwater all they want. They will work like a space helmet and you won't run out of air.

The canonball is something I'd love to experience at least once in my life.
I knew already in the beginning that the cannonball loop was going to be number 1.
Personally I love it when Theme Park Crazy does waterpark videos. I’m more of a waterslide fan and making videos like these shows that he cares about all amusement, rather than just the rollercoasters.
I showed Dad this video. He gave a "No just No" sort of reaction when he saw both looping water slides. He also didn't like that underwater slide.

I have been on a "High Fly" once. At least this one had a landing that even with a lot of good will could not be called "soft". It was like I was hitting my back on massive concrete. The very narrow slide also slowed me down quite a bit as I barely fit between its walls.
