CLARIFICATION:
There are other waterslides with conveyor belts. The Zip Coaster was different because it uses a conveyor belt straight section. Thankfully, this kind of slide lives on in the Wisconsin Dells at a park called Chula Vista!
When I went to h20bx I actually saw and slid down the champagne bowl.
Thank you for clarifying. I was literally about to call you out on this, lol.
Yeah the Zip Coaster was just slightly different than the prototype Proslide Rocket uphill water coasters….honestly, I think Black Anaconda at Noah’s Ark and Hydro Plunge at Great Wolf in the Poconos are unique because they still use conveyors…Unlike basically every other water coaster out there.
@@Cheezbat Black Anaconda is so good!
I was gonna mention this too lol, the zip coaster at Chula Vista is awesome!

As a German, I did not expect #1 to be what it is. Those are pretty common indeed, but I love them! They can be a bit harsh sometimes, slamming you into a wall in a tight corner. But still fun! Also, many do have intermediate chillout pools which is super cool. I went on one at Rulantica in Rust, Germany in the winter and it was so cool chilling there with light snow falling and seeing the lights of Europapark in the distance. :D
The one at Rulantica was pretty relaxing compared to the one at Europabad at Karlsruhe, Germany. This one is very intense with sharp bends and an extremely strong current in the deeper sections. People entering this ride should be good swimmers, but I think it is really fun 😊
Those winding liminal slides look awesome but understand the nightmare conditions it would make for lifeguards to keep track of everyone!
The #1 is what we call in the Netherlands wildwaterbaan, a wild water ride. Most Center Parcs pools have them and they are much more themed that the one in this video, some of them are even partly indoors and partly outdoors with nice scenery and can easily take at least a good couple of minutes and also have spots where you can just rest and chill out :)
They are lots of fun and part of the main attractions of these kind of subtropical swimming pools.
Keep up the great work, always enjoy your videos .
Yeah, I was just going to mention Center Parcs! I could ride around those again and again all day and not get bored. I had no idea these type of rides were not allowed in the USA...but I can understand why... since people often ignore the instructions to keep your distance, you can end up getting kicked if you're not careful! There is also an issue with parents trying to take very young children on them, even if they can't swim (against the rules again). Ie. they're a fantastic attraction but need better lifeguarding (if that's a word!!).
so cool
Most unrelated type of slide. Being dragged along by the current is just a cool experience.
True 🎉😂
I wish I could ride one of those soooooo bad
Great to see that you give Banana Flip and some of the other unique slides some more attention.
1:55 Yes, the landing at Super Splash can be quite painful. I tried to land on the mat, as well as pushing it away, but both impacts in the pool weren't pleasant.
I think the Super Splash is a unique experience. You just have to pay attention to how you land. I did not find this one painful. Did a couple of times to each other.
Does anyone know how easy it is to complete a backflip off of banana flip? If I ever went there, I’d like to try one :)
The Dollywood Slidewinder was AMAZING! Later on there was very little water, and the boats looked really chewed up. But you had 4-5 people in one of the molded sleds, and the speed was both fast and you would fly way, WAY up on the banks in some of the turns. It felt more out of control than any other waterslide I've ever ridden.
I think the year it opened, it was rated as the best non-coaster ride by in a US park by one or two of the coaster folks. It was torn down for Wild Eagle, which is still quite a loss.
Cool
@@frankbranham7404 it wasn’t torn down for Wild Eagle. The Slidewinder’s last season was in 2018 and Wild Eagle opened in 2012. You could get some nice views of Wild Eagle walking up the Slidewinder’s path that you couldn’t see from elsewhere in the park. I grew up riding it and was sad that the year my daughter was finally tall enough to ride, it was announced that it wouldn’t be opening for the 2019 season. I believe maintenance costs had a big factor on its closure, and a lot of people didn’t like the hike up the hillside to ride it.
@@stephaniesuthers5635 Nice memory. One of the missing waterslides from this list might be a VERY sketchy water park made from concrete which was in Pigeon Forge in the 70's and 80's. There were mats, but if you slid off of one of them, it was like being run over a cheese grater.
My first water ride ever, scared the crap outta me because It really felt like you were going to flip over
Just imagine if Roller Coasters and Water Slides were a form of transport
galaxy brain
Like boats and trains?
Yes
That would be f*cking AWESOME!
I've always wanted to go on one of those slides in Europe that was on your number one spot. They look both fun and relaxing at the same time.
Gotta love seeing this pop up right in the middle of my monthly waterslide video watching phase
As a fan of your channel, I was very surprised and happy to see that Wild water course was featured. The one seen in the video is actually one of the many I helped design while working for the architecture company that designed the pool. 🤗🤗
My experience at cavena water park was weird. Number 10 one was really bad with basically no one getting up the other end, but number 9 was really fun and surprisingly not rough. But do be careful on the water on the way down otherwise it might hurt you with the pressure 😂
Black Anaconda at Noah's Ark, Flyin Mayan at Chula Vista, and Typhoon at Six Flags New England all use conveyor belt launches on their water coasters. As far as I know though, the group of four were the only ones ever to use this style
I forgot that the love hotel waterslide existed, but it doesn't really surprise me that one exists as I've seen some pretty weird stuff in the rooms of Japanese love hotels. Some love hotels will have things such as aquariums in your hotel room, and a dinosaur themed love hotel I saw once in another video had ridable animatronic dinosaurs in their hotel rooms.
How cool
I would be too grossed out to use them. Yes, people can get freaky in non "love hotels," too, but that's what love hotels are specifically made for. And the more nooks and crannies a room has, the harder it is to clean and sanitize properly. 🤢
@@englishatheartvery certain that a hotel with this specifically in mind would be cleaner in that aspect than one without it.
At least more than your local Super 8.
As someone who’s home park is Dollywood and went there for years, I can count on one hand how many times I went on the Slidewinder. The ride experience did not justify the long queue for me so I always skipped it and forgot about until it got demolished
Yes! Sky pond was one of my favorites at wildwood. The downside is that, Morys Peirs has two different water parks, the park that Sky Pond Journey is located is a much smaller water park with only like 4 attractions where the other water park on the one Peir is much bigger. But it is still worth going and checking out.
10:30 The wild water course was one of my favorite things to do at a pool complex, next to the wave pool. The most fun versions (in my opinion) are those you can find at Centerparcs (a group that has different bungalow parcs spread over different country's, each with its own "tropical" waterpark). Those are much bigger and have less curves than the small indoor ones.
The Wild Water Course looks like fun! I would definately try that!
Ditto
A bizarre waterslide that wasn’t on this list was Mississippi Drifter at Splashdown Poole. It kind of reminds me of a Wild Water Course because its layout is composed of smaller slides. It’s a pretty odd slide if you ask me
That last waterslide actually looks really fun! I've never experienced one like that!
Funny thing, I believe that Six Flags White Water had an experience somewhat to that of the Skypond Journey. I believed it was called the Escape Chute
The wild water rapids are also in almost every centerparcs (a european resort with huge indoor and outdoor subtropical swimming pool) in centerparcs the wild water rapids also have dropoffs slides and are outdoor. They're really fun and beautiful.
I love your videos man! Keep it up! You deserve so much more! :DD
He's already done that video before, in 2019
I remember frequently going on a wild water maze in my youth, that waterpark has closed a while back. The only downside is that some people feel the need to block the way or just stay somewhere in the middle of the slide where you'd have to swim past them. Ah... fun times...
Tropicana, by any chance?
Theme park crazy is like a side of fries. I always want more.
the temptation to say "kronk pull the lever" while working at the banana flip slide would be way too great
10:29 you’ve heard of the lazy river, now get ready for the AMBITIOUS river!
Fantastic Video, loved the mention of Liminal Spaces with the last one. Cheers from India!
This one actually has a different epilepsy warning compared to the others
And colors!!!
Reckon
My city's pool has a wild water maze ! (I'm French), it's very cool and I go in it every time I go to the pool !
i rode the zip coaster when i was a little kid, and i can say it was absolutely the most obnoxious thing ever, and you could hear it anywhere in the park. sucks to see its gone tho
We have some of these wild water courses here in germany. It's really fun and some of them are even a bit thrilling. Totally recommend trying one if you have the chance
I believe in Sky Pond Journey Supremacy. I've been waiting forever for you to cover it! It's a wonderful experience and I'm happy to have such a rare waterslide credit ^w^
Been going to Morey's Piers every year and the Sky Pond never gets old. I even keep falling out of the tube.😂😂
I wish more people would talk about Voyage to the Center of the Earth at Water World in Denver. It's basically if the Jurassic Park River Adventure was a waterslide
You chose some really good rides and unique ones, but even though it’s unique is not a bad thing. Keep up the good work
Thanks for using my video at 6:15‼️
Definitely consider doing a video on the Dollywood slidewinder. Great video. Thanks man!
As my home park, the Mountain Slidewinder was a favorite of my family and myself ❤️. It was always best to ride it very early or you could’ve been standing in line in the heat for an hour or 2 for just a few seconds, but those few seconds were so awesome!! It was so fast!!! Sometimes on the turns the raft went so high I was afraid it would flip over or fly over the top of the slide onto the ground.
We rode Mountain Slidewinder every time we went to DollyWood from our first trip in 1989 to 2006. After 2006,we didn’t make it back to DollyWood until 2019 and sadly it was already closed down 😭. However it will forever be one of the best rides DollyWood ever had and will always be missed by us.
Shame that The Champagne Bowl couldn't have actual champagne flowing 😂
would have been awesome😩😩
I'd of paid and stayed on it for hours drinking that sweet sweet champagne 🍾
U would drink it and then u be drunk 🥴 🤪 🤣 lmao 😂😂
The zip coaster was one of my favorite water slides of all time, very sad it’s gone.
That belly flop one looks awesome!
My love for liminal spaces and pools combined would be a dream for me to ride that one.
I've ridden the Super Splash. As requested, I can confirm that riding it is not painful, however, you WILL smack your face against the curved foam mat if you do not strech your arms fully outward during landing. Slide supervisors warn you for the danger, but reflexes might make you cramp up. Anyways great video!
Oh wow, I voted for the Queen Suite water slide on the poll without even knowing that it was in a hotel suite itself?? like each suite of that caliber gets one??? That’s even crazier than I expected. The speed of that slide is pretty alarming too. It definitely has a dreamlike vibe to it. Not a nightmare, but not a fantasy either, lol
I never knew the Zip Coaster was defunct! I'm so glad I got to ride it when it first opened! I also remember you could see Top Thrill Dragster from the top of the platform!
I went last February and realized it was gone
The zip coaster was awesome, the launch was a cool experience and you got absolutely launched over the first two drops, sucks that it got removed and hopefully they replace it soon with hopefully a more modern water coaster
I totally agree! Once I saw someone stuck on one of the turns, and they had to take apart some of the slide to get them to safety.
I once went to a rave at a water park. The rides weren’t anything special, but man, that was sweet.
I remember a 2000’s era Travel Channel or similar special on Dollywood that had some information about Mountain Slidewinder and even showed the in-house manufacturing of the custom foam sleds, I wonder if it’s still accessible somewhere 🤔
Had no idea the zip coaster got shut down! My dad and I got stuck on it when we went to kalahari back in 2019. It was fun besides getting stuck and the stopping point which was a little jerky. I still rode it a ton. Definitely prefer water coasters at holiday world any day though.
I’ve seen the zip coaster, and sat in it. But I was too scared to even ride a carousel yet alone a water coaster. The park said that the rafts would stall and having to haul 100 pound sleds thru a course isn’t that fun. So that’s another reason it closed
You can still see marks of the footers
@@ToledoRailfanyeah, atleast they are painted good
Never before did I think a water slide could be 18+
The Wild Water Maze is basically a juiced-up lazy river & I love that.
Typhoon at Six Flags New England, which is still in operation, is also a conveyor belt water coaster.
Yes, though it doesn't have conveyor belt straight sections like the Zip Coaster did.
I got to ride the zip water coaster at Kalahari A TON and it was honestly so much fun. I was so sad they removed it. I didn't even mind the noise. I always thought it was cool.
Lets be honest, if there would just be, "iconic" waterslides, it would be cannonball loop by a long run
The Japanese slide is like the SLC of waterslides
Man I love these videos, keep up the good work
Yaaaas!!! I love this video! You are so good. Gives me something to look forward to and watch on my lunch break
Wow!!!!! I've been on Sidewinder at Dollywood many, many years ago! I had completely forgot until I saw your video! Great memories!
Sea World San Antonio used to have a slide like the Sky Pond Journey back in the '90s. It was definitely a unique slide, I've never seen another like it until this video!
The Sky Pond looks like something out of a dream. I love the idea.
Banana Flip is really insane more than do a barrel roll.
Your channel deserves so much more recognition! You put so much effort into every video and they are truly a delight to watch. You're the best, dude.
Kind of un-related to the subject of this video- have you ever mentioned the wooden rollercoaster from vancouver, canada's playland? I could have missed it since I haven't seen every video yet. It's my local amusement park and one of the most thrilling rides I've ever been on, while it looks quite un-assuming from a distance.
Take care! :)
Great video as always you post awesome content that is fun enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Thanks for sharing awesome content.
!! I HAVE BEEN ON SUPER SPLASH !! The experience is as follows, the drop gives really unexpected airtime, the Vally is sort of intense, and the bellyflop portion hurts only if you go perfectly parallel with the water, you need to stay on the mat at all times, it really reminded me of Aladdin lol
man I've been so much more interested in roller coasters and water slides since I found your videos. Keep uploading!
These videos might be one of my favorite series, thanks for the birthday video!
I would like to see more people use marbles runs and 3D printing to create new water slide ideas.
I absolutely love the idea of a hotel with private waterslides! Just, uh... maybe don't make the turns so sharp?
I wish I could ride the white water slide!!! It looks so much fun, and even though it looks dangerous I would still ride it!
This is another great video to add to the theme park video bangers playlist!
I like the Bizarre Waterslides from Around the world
thank you for the video and the channel :-)
About time we have another water slide video yay
That zip coaster at Kalahari was a monster, I loved it. I wanted to go again until I found out it was closed now
Another great video as always!
thank you for talking about love hotels without being weird about them! i love your channel
As always, you do a great job with your videos. My kids love watching as well!
I absolutely love your videos
I absolutely love the sky pond. It’s really fun in the last drop is very big.
The private pool with waterslide already had me thinking of liminal spaces, and then we got to the un-lazy river at #1. It looks like great fun! I also enjoy how much of the footage was of other people filming their trip through the maze. IDK, recording someone recording something has always tickled me, and it's even better here because both parties are filming the same thing.
I got to ride mountain slidewinder as a kid, and it was actually a really fun ride and overall experience!
Nice work keep it up!
The Dollywood slide winder was a blast! With the sharp turns it was easy to roll the sled. I liked to wait till is saw a group of guys going up together. Mor often than not they would finish the run outside of the sled. Too funny!
I've been on a Wild Water Course in Belgium. It had 2 pools in the middle and you had to swim through to the next part of the slide. At the end there was a whirlpool and it was so hard to get out and people were getting Crushed. The sharp turns on the slides really hurt as well
I'm so happy I got to ride the Zip Coaster. Back when I was 8, I was staying at the Kalahari while on a road trip to Chicago to visit my aunt and uncle and I had heard that the slide was rarely open so we got lucky. If only I had known Cedar Point was only about 5 minutes away...
The white water maze is like a water slide and a lazy river. Great idea.
The Wild Water Course is an interesting idea, looks like a combo of a water slide and a lazy river.
Cant believe the rapids that empty into the river that are located at Schlitterbahn New Braunsfels weren’t mentioned. The rapids at this park are amazing and for the other large things they have, these rapids really make the park what it is.
I rode the zip coaster back in 2019 I liked it and the noise wasn’t that bad
There was actually a horror game based around a liminal space indoor waterpark. Can't remember what it was called, but it was pretty cool.
I remeber seeing Dollywood's Mountain Sidewinder on an old Travel Channel Special on the park from the early 2000's. Also, the Champagne Bowl, Duel Loop, Sky Pound Journey, and White Water Course are somethings I might want to try myself!
Little late but I’m ready for this video !😊
I love the zip slide! I used to call it the Tiger when I was younger. It was so fun but really loud. I miss it.
I'm Italian and I'm very surprised to see not one but three slides in this video! Here are my opinions:
- Frozen Bob: I've managed to arrive to the ramp, I like it
- Super Splash: lifeguards tell you how to ride it correctly and it is exciting but for someone can end painfully
- Dual Loop: for me it was a scary experience. You have no idea of the direction you're going
Great vid!
You are cool 😎
Imagine if someone recreated AOIA
6:17 I’ve been on that one! Kalahari resort! I was so confused once I stopped in the bowl because I didn’t realized there was stairs before I went down
