    Learn pivot tables in 6 minutes... Pivot tables allow you to automatically summarizes your data... so you can “slice-and-dice” in a million ways. This means you can replace lots of hand-typed summary calculations with more automated reporting. To create a pivot table, select a cell in your table and click “PivotTable” on the “Insert” tab.

      Imagine u r working on a data set that has 20 Call quality Parameters arranged vertically in 20 columns, with 250 entries, from 20 Agents who report to 5 TLs who in turn report to 2 Managers. In four steps explain how you present manager wise Data & TL wise data sepetately.

    Good video, thank you. The "zoomy" thing was pretty frustrating and I don't think was needed at all. Next time, just zoom the spreadsheet a little. I like to see the effect of the changes you're making and there were a couple of times you clicked on items and we didn't actually get to see the resultant change in the pivot table.

    This is awesome, thank you. I once had a colleague who kept sorting out the pivot tables I needed for my job for me, and when I asked him how I could do it myself, he smiled at me and said, "If I told you I would be out a job." Since then, Pivot Tables have felt like a distant secret to my mind. Thank you for beginning to break down that barrier. :)

    So, last week i had a bank data analyst job interview and the interviewer ask me to bring my work experience certificate and all right after the interview.
    He ask if i know about pivot table in Excel and i do says im good in Excel/spreadsheets.. but little did i know, i was not expecting that will dominate the actual work.. which took around 60-70% of the analysis.
    I'm really glad i found this just in time. 🤣

      My bad, Rok. You're right. I thought it would make it easier to see on a mobile device, but it can be distracting. I will see if I can post a version of the video without all the zoom.

      @@codymbaldwin Honest thought though, I would think most people looking into a help video for Excel would rather watch from a workstation/computer and not from a smartphone. For the smartphone screen I would agree with your assumption. Anyways the overall approach was helpful and thank you for making that video.

      Cody Baldwin i am watching through mobile as i have clients i have to do this for. I hardly use my laptop as i am on my computer all day, so zoom in was perfect for someone who can’t see very well. This is the best video i seen where i grasped what actually is a Pivot table.

      I think the zooming in is really good. I prefer zooming in rather than no zooming in. The zooming in helps me focus on what the teacher wants the audience to focus on when he speaks about something.

    okay, I will have to watch this multiple times, but that has more to do with my brain than anything else. gotta say, Cody makes the medicine go down easy. mellow, unhurried not lots of "ums" and bouncing all over the place... he doesn't teach from his "I already know this" brain, but the "I will assume you don't know anything about these and that's why you're here" brain. it helps people like me. thank you. gotta see what he has on V and X lookups. I hate Excel, but I hate it less now.

    You don't need to do the zoom and moving back and forth. Just show the whole screen.

      Zooming makes it clearer what we're supposed to be looking at (although darkening the other areas of the sceen would also work). It also makes sure the video is easy to view even if it isn't in full screen or is been viewed on a phone screen.
