One of the first time in years that (on a boss fight) I actually died, got frustrated, tried again, died again. Realized I needed some help and had to strategize. There needs to be way more games that are actually challenging. Bosses that you can’t just leave, level up and become overpowered then demolish.
@@0mnicide I highly recommend the Dark Souls series, especially Bloodborne, the greatest game ever made far as I am concerned - very challenging but far from impossible.
@@kevtb874 Bang for your buck? 1/3 of the original story at a more expensive price is not what I would refer to as bang for your buck. I think the remake was alright (Good: voice acting, combat, music, Jessica, and graphics; Bad: No bath scene, Nomura and co. screwed up the last chapter), but I can't agree with that statement of yours.
In the original, this fight was so forgettable I literally did forget about it. In the remake... yeah no I haven’t even played FF7R yet but I’ve seen this fight and I don’t think I’ll EVER forget it. Edit: I’ve now played FF7R. It’s even better that it seemed from the footage. The build up to it was so god damn good it made the fight so hype.
Good question. Think it was because Cloud and Co were surrounded by Shinra soldiers with no way out. If Barrett had shot Shinra, he'd get killed for sure. Also think Barrett was too busy chastising him to think about shooting him
Haters are always going to hate. In a way it's still publicity for the game though. Rather than it being forgotten about, haters help keep it trending. It will be exactly the same when Remake comes out.
Holy fuck when the choir hits in the remake version! My god!! I haven't even played the original ever or played the remake, but I clicked the song on a whim and it was good but when the choir hit...it fucking blew me away
In terms of gameplay and boss fights, then Remake is superior in every aspect. However, I still prefer the Shinra tower and Midgar highway section in the original
Can we talk about the fact that they could have run the other way? It's obvious that's how Tifa and Barret got away from the reactor after the bomb went off.
@JRPGFan20000 better than making the bosses a laughing stock. I remember fighting airbuster in the original and beating it in 3 attacks. I was like "really? That's it?"
In the remake enemies actually feel like ,WELL ENEMIES, every boss fight in the remake felt like theyre and actual threat In the original game most felt like they were just another enemy Few felt like a real threat especially the turks
The remade fight is absolutely mind-blowing.

Here after destroying Airbuster in the remake.
Airbuster in the remake was much more of a challenge than this version.
@JRPGFan20000 yes totally boring tryna fight a massive floating robot with laser arms and rocket attacks.
@@hoffa9000 Jaded gamers, man. No use trying to argue with them, they'll just pelt you with negativity.
Yeah. I fucking hate it when my games offer me a challenge AND bang for my buck. Just give me a 1 minute cake walk for fucks sake!

Cloud about to fall 300m off a platform.
Barret: Alright then, later.
This made me die 😆
Not to mention the fact that the music here sounded very retarded, like someone was high on weed in this cutscene
The remake totally nailed the air buster.
Nailed? The Remake Airbuster is far superior. Square absolutely crushed it in terms of boss design
Thiên Phúc Nguyễn Đình you know “nailed” means perfected right.
That boss fight in the remake was total apeshit. So much was going on, in addition to that kick ass music, like, holy shit.
Original Game: standard battle, take turns attacking, fairly easy boss battle
Remake: huh I don't know I was too busy *running for dear life*
I just want to point out that he turn battle system of the original was much more dynamic than the previous games.
@@capscaps04
It's about the same as FF6.
@@shpladau Which is amazing
Yeah I one shotted him with clouds limit breaker , ended quicker than expected lol
Literally ruined my sleep
I’ll never forget that feeling of urgency to win this fight my first time lmao so happy they remade this
Epic. Such a good fight, both versions.
I played through this fight expecting it to be similar to the Remake, I did not expect it to go down THAT easily.
I think the remake is incredible but I'll never forget hearing the boss battle theme for the first time in FF7 during this fight.
Yeah the organ section of the music in the og is incredible imo
(but to be fair the choir in the remake is great as well)
Barrett in the remake when cloud is about to fall: “I was wrong about you”
Barrett here: Aight imma head out with Tifa

PS1 version: kills airbuster no problem
PS4 version checking amazon to see if they sale game sharks for the ps4 😂
Why didnt barret just shoot shinra
Probably because of this comment Square Enix decide to answer it through the remake.

I beat the airbuster in the remake first try with around 11 minutes and many heart attacks

The remake fight is a nightmare

Why is Cloud holding on with just 1 hand?

The whole game or the battle? No way you think og battle is better unless you just want to steamroll dumb ai with simple battle mechanics.
JRPGFan20000 dude the fight has like 20 different attacks 3phases and if you are good its way quicker also the music GODAMMN
This boss battle in the Remake is so bloated. Overly lengthy compared to the original
