Reno's Japanese voice actor Keiji Fujiwara has passed away from cancer at age 55. Rest in Peace. 🕊️
From Coronavirus at that...
@@Diodontgivadayum He died of cancer.
A legend
BOI
😪
i love the how even though its a boss fight, the game never hesitates to flesh out Reno and Rude's personalities and friendship. Rude never hits Tifa like he would do to Barret and Cloud. Reno looks devastated while picking Rude's glasses. Its small details like that that made hands down the Turks the most human and likeable "vilains"
Rude doesn't hit Tifa directly yes, but if he did his AOE or you were controlling her while he hits you he'd apologize to her
"Human" *classic......*
😂
Oh shit, that's right!! He only uses Seize on Tifa.
And they're a hilarious duo in Advent Children
they also made me laugh my ass off in advent children lol
“It’s nothing personal... bitch!” Don’t know why that cracked me up so hard first time I heard it.
same here man
It’s from Breaking Bad. Yeah BITCH! - Jesse Pinkman
1990's energy is strong in that quote. Not alot of people actually talk like that now, even in the frat-bro communities.
Same
Gives off "Nothing personal, kid" vibes, just with the added "Bitch" to it.
Did anyone notice on their playthroughs that Rude says sorry if he hits Tifa? Lol its great they did that
Not to mention he moved the chopper when Reno was shooting as Tifa was coming up the steps. Lmao. Early nod to his "crush" on her.
Theres a joke here
@@MALZEL-19F Rude does this a lot. When fighting Aeris, he just wails on Cloud - But he only tries to karate-chop her on the back of her neck to knock her unconscious.
LonelyWolf What are you talking about? His hand just slipped.
@@fissilewhistle Lol. Suuurre..
That look of sadness on Reno's face at 7:28 when he thought that Rude died in the helicopter crash. Then the look of relief and smirk at 7:31 when he sees that Rude survived was well done too
thats why they are such good characters!
Baddie Buddies
Which is why I absolutely love them
Boyfriends
Boyfriends but I think Reno at times has a thing for Cloud. Lol
16:05
And here we see a man's world collapse before him, through the medium of a stuffed toy.
iridium248 I wonder what cait siths unique ability will be in part 2 when he’s playable
Wasn't expecting to see Cait Sith this early. I like his new design. Poor guy... Can't imagine witnessing something like that and feeling responsible for it.
@@crimsoncarson7763 I am hoping somewhere Cait Sith throws a couple of dices and depending on what he rolls it either helps the team or not, bit if it gets a 7 than it deals the most damage to your opponent.
Jacob Foxall what could the name of his unique ability be called u know the command mapped to triangle that’s next to the commands attack and commands itself
That part still makes me lol 😂 I wonder what the ppl unfamiliar to the original game though
Aerith: "Rude's a good guy"
Rude: Gets up from 0HP and murders thousands of innocent people anyway
Rude: "Sorry"
If he didn't do it, someone else would have. That plate was dropping regardless.
@@kingcamelot1395 but he still did it
@@kingcamelot1395 yeah that's not really an excuse for murdering thousands of people sorry.
Rude: no im not bad, but like it or not i sometimes have to do bad things.
Aerith didn't say he's a good guy.
She said he's not a bad guy. He's neutral
This is by far my favorite fight/ part of the entire game. The music, the camera direction, the dialogue.... feels man.. feels.
"First Class Asshole."
I agree, the boss fight is so good, once Rude is on the ground is when the boss fight gets interesting and the difficulty is hard as Reno hits hard and is fast. Rude hits hard and is a freaking power house. The acting is so on par. The music is so sad representing Avalanche's death and how Avalanche are on the last of their legs: Barret, Cloud, and Tifa. The characters you use, you can tell they're are exhausted from fighting Shinra and is what made the fight win for me.
dude Reno is like the R rated version of axel which is AWESOMEEE
Yeah Reno was the inspiration for Axel.
Fun fact they shared the same Japanese VA who just pass away
@@edbertextreme AC Reno also shared the same English VA for English Axel/Lea
Da faq is Axel?
@@jeramahia123 play kingdom hearts a u will know
Fighting them both felt personal. The hatred and aggression towards each other was phenomenal. And beating the hell out of them on my first try never felt so satisfying. That summon demon saved our asses.
"Its nothing personal........bitch" best line except for sephiroths 7 seconds until the end and barrets speeches
Damn if Reno and Rude fought like this in Advent Children, Kadaj Loz and Yazoo would have made a run for it 😂
lol i know right
Maybe we can get a chance. If AC becomes a game.
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6б I'm hoping its dlc for the final game I mean imagine advent children but cloud is actually good and with even more badass fights
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6б Yeah me too. If you think about it though this is when they are at their peak. AC was a long time after and even the main characters said they aren’t as strong as they used to be, except Cloud. I just thought about that as I was agreeing with you lol
They'd still get clapped
On TOP of him being my favorite character, they had to make my man Rude look better than everyone else. Cloud and them look good and all, but Rude looks borderline real at times...
His character model looks so much better graphically than everyone else’s, and you can thank the realistic ass character design for that. I’d be convinced if you told me he was modeled after a real-life person.
And another reason being that everybody out there having perfect skin ironically makes Rude, his beard, and his actual skin complexion look better than everyone else 😭
I would prefer him being an original model, not modelled after real life actor. That would make him unique, one of a kind.
In fact, I prefer any video game characters to be original models, coz video games are not movie. In movies, we hire real life actors coz it makes sense for the performance that requires a lot of emotions.
Thus, video games should have original characters coz it makes much more sense in them, and much more imaginative too. Not to mention we have the technology to do that.
Wouldn't it be more fun to play a character created straight up from imagination? From something that didn't exist before?
That is why, character customization in video games are fun to control, coz subconsciously we desire for something original.
@@ginsan8198 Capcom made every character in last DMC with some celebrities' face scans and it look weird...
@@YuffX ikr.
I NEVER EXPLICITLY SAID RUDE WAS MODELED AFTER A REAL LIFE PERSON LOL
Just that I’d be convinced IF you told me he was
I feel like this whole thread didn’t need to happen, it isn’t even about the same subject I touched on 💀
That’s probably because Rude is a regular looking dude, a sharp dressed tall bald guy. Instead of a blonde anime haired Tight ass tank top wearing beautiful mercenary with a giant sword on his back
Not gonna lie, every other boss fight except for Sephy has nowhere near the same feeling as this. Reno and Rude was a full out war compared to everything else.
You can just feel the hatred in this and after Wedge, Biggs and Jessie, there is no greater feeling than taking on these guys, especially with these stakes.
Add Rufus to it too, his fight was phenomenal, dude would beat the literal fuck out of you if you made even one slip up.
@@artemislovegood1456 agreed. Generally the "human" bosses in this game were amazing
Yes
ill never be able to look at reno the same way again after hearing about the passing of his voice actor whom also voiced axel from kingdom hearts............... he wont be forgotten as we all got him memorized
In germany, renos voice actor was axel voice actor aswell and died aswell because of an accident at mounthiking
Well I playing in Japanese dub so It will be weird for me
@@bilosguides515 thats so weird
Can we take a moment to appreciate how Reno actually looked a bit sad when he thought Rude had died from the explosion?
Then looked immediately cheered up the moment he realized Rude was fine behind him.
Beautiful attention to detail!
15:29 can we just stop and appreciate the fact that Barret is so absolutely jacked that he can hold up himself and two people with one arm?
Worth every penny. I don't know how they outdid themselves
literally everything in this game was incredible. cannot wait for future parts
The Turks really showed you how much they mean business and how serious they are about their jobs with that mission. Even thought they might regret what has to be done they gon go throught it like professionals gotta respect them for that.
That Tusk Combo is the definition of Reno and Rude friendship. 9:38
Just beautiful
finally some one talk about there limet break thanks i come to this video just to see it they did not use it on me the first time i fight them do u know when they use it ?
Being that the turks are gonna have a bigger role to play in this remake, I feel that it would be appropriate if Square Enix made Reno and Rude guest allies (like Red XIII) during the boss fight against Don Corneo's Rapps in Wutai. It'd be more diverse and would be something for us to grow on for these two characters, haha.
Not only that, I can imagine Reno, Rude and Rufus, together with a bunch of Shinra Soldiers, joining the fight against Jenova on the ship, while she pokes holes in it.
@@MoreImbaThanYou my dream is Reno, Rude and Rufus being playable characters in FFVIIR part 2.
Константин Паршуков That would be mad awesome!
I like to see me Tseng
@@danielledaniel1900 Tseng should be a boss battle in this game. I'm very surprised he wasn't one in the original.
That New Threat mod did make him into a boss battle where he simply replaced Rude in Rocket Town when you take the rocket back from Shinra.
Square Enix should probably do that for this! Get some nice inspiration from the New Threat mod and give those dedicated creators the praise they deserve :)
dude this boss fight really kicked my ass, can't believe I was able to win it on my first try
same man I just BARELY survived thanks to a last second Limit Break
@@DanTheMan33088 fortunately i survived cuz i remembered that rude's weakness is aereo, in the end i was able to stagger him and i also had chocobo and moogle summoned which is wind based summon to help, it was such an onslaught in the end
It was easy for me. To top it off I dog piled Reno for the heck of it when his hp was low lol
Low tier magic is actually pretty underrated. Fast cast time and can multicast it for low mp
You did?! I took 3 tries and rage quit
Also a shout out to ALL the voice actors: YOU GUYS DID AN AMAZING JOB♥
6:30 that slow motion lunge punch Tifa was going in for was kind of cool.
Love how this went from a 5 second boss fight in the OG, to an all out brawl. Easily my favorite moment in the remake
one of the best boss fights, I was almost cheering for the bosses on this one lol.
I was actually rooting for the Turks. Man, I am so bad. They’re actually on the verge of massive genocide and here I am rooting for them. Lol
Not for me tho, after what happened to Jessie and Biggs, I wish to destroy these bastards all along. I don't care that Reno and Rude are amazing characters, they are. But for this part, they pisses me off.
...why tho?
@@adamazmi6340 Facts after Jessie died I wanted revenge
The relationship they have is amazing almost make me wanna cry
You know, I never saw the Turks as threatning in the original game, but here they really feel like rivals to the party.

Maybe that was their last resort cause there’s literally nowhere else to take cover. Buf I wouldn’t stay too long if I were them.
Exactly
Obviously someone who was counting on the explosive force to blow them away to safety. Just like in real life.
2:34 The reason you love Reno 😂
Cant him and Rude are responsible for thousands dying which people barely mentions the Turks dont care about anything but their jobs
@Fire House Tseng says in a later cutscene that someone else would have dropped the plate anyways. Reno and Rude honestly gave an immense amount of time for the sector 7 slum-dwellers to escape.
@@CC-xb6hp They are doing their jobs. Something tells me that you can't just walk away when you sign up to be a Turk. Shinra own you. What they did is wrong, but they are certainly not happy about it. Also if they didn't someone else would. It's not all black and white.
@@evantill7395 Exactly this. They didn't need to fight at all. Reno had all the time in the world to press that button when Cloud challenged him to. They stalled by fighting the gang to allow as much time as possible for people to evacuate while still being professionals on doing their job they were ordered to do, even if they don't like it.
@1Dudelove Yes we hear them voice their disapproval. You can see they are not happy with it.
Cloud really left that fight without a scratch while this guy Reno and rude was all battle damaged 😂😂😂
Cloud too bad ass to have scratches on him
jenova cells son
Yeah at least in the Remake they make it a point to have Cloud pretty much always kick the shit out of the Turks in every encounter and them just barely getting away in some cases him actually trying to kill them until someone interferes. In the original, they pretty much just casually stroll away after every fight and give you the impression they're always just toying with you.
I know this is just a video game but the theatrics are amazing. Very heartbreaking. Ultra-realistic.
It’s art
May I remind y’all it was nominated for GOTY 2020, and it lost to The Last of us Part II.
So glad they included rude for this fight, when i first done this fight, at the start reno's hp was dropping so fast, for a 3 vs 1 fight it was too easy, then when the chopper got taken down things heated up and the fight felt more balanced
Damn. Cloud straight tried to cut Rude in half. And judging from his expression, Rude thought it'd land too.
bro was probably pissed after what happened to Avalanche. Can’t say i blame him.
the cutscene graphics its really amazing!
I feel you man, the graphics and voice acting made me forget at times that I was actually playing a game lol
@@anarrivingwingedhussar9692 yeah, I thought I was watching a movie
its also amazing that FFVII remake had English or Japanese lip syncing
Reno went full marvel vs capcom in this fight
When im having a hard time fighting Reno and try to steal from him. Rude
joined the fight with something to steal too . oh great ! lol
Yup, the hard part of this boss fight is trying to steal from both of them and winning at the same time.
Clouds triangle to counterattack. Then steal
That single scene with cait-sith...... somehow showed the devastation of the plate collapse, that and the entire next chapter.
Remember how Aerith said Rude wasn't a bad guy? Well he was the one who pressed the button, releasing the platform and killing hundreds of people below.
Can't just casually overlook the fact he did that.
We blow up central power reactors.
Rude did say he isn't a bad guy, but he's forced to do bad things.
Rude knows that he’s looked at as bad. He actually asks on how sector 7 is going to get repaired and gets mad at what tsung.
Rude actually will attack Tifa(though he does say "sorry" if he does). He doesn't in the original.
Logical Juan Rudes a simp
Actually, he may attack her in the original but only if she's the last one standing and has a 60% chance of skipping his turn and say "..." instead of attacking.
@@Phyllion- Huh. Never got to that point lol
1Dudelove your right but She was joking lmao r/woooosh
Reno really pulled that Yozora move on Barret
Not yozora when move when he existed first
yozora move?!
guess someone don't know shit about the OG
Reno does this move in the original game
Man KH exists so much later so pls don’t say the FF7 did this and that after KH characters. It’s damn annoying.
Georgia Andrea its a joke ya big baby take a chill pill
Why is plate separation even a feature? Imagine if your city had a button that instantly destroyed a highway or something.
tbh a greedy or a really self aware corporate would add that feature
it's like having a self destruct on an airship or something, so when everything goes south they can use that feature to end it before it gets worse
for example, when your airship gets controlled by an enemy, instead of having the enemy to have further control over the airship you could just self destruct it
so same as this plate seperation thing
which i know it is actually stupid, but it actually could be true irl we dont know
If the people decided to rebel, they can threaten to destroy everything to force them to remain compliant.
For construction purposes and when they need to install a new plate because the old one gets too damaged or outdated.
Don’t forget what Mako is...
That button is for refueling
It's all a part of the Neo Midgar plan. Dropping the plate means they also can afford to shutdown the reactor of that sector. Because of the shutdown, they can increase the Mako fuel in the other reactors. Increasing the fuel means they can increase the Taxrate of Mako.
And because Avalanche and Wutai took the blame, Shinra appears as the heroes to the public that citizens will not object to paying more money for Mako. With Wutai and Avalanche taking the blame, public morale rises as they seem as the aggressors while Shinra provides protection to the public.
It's all calculated from the beginning. Mind you, this is the same company that had the miner town Corel build up a reactor, promising the people better money, job opportunities and life circumstances only to murder every single citizen afterwards to silence them from any POSSIBLE knowledge they may have acquired.
This is easily the most awesome sequence of fights and cutscenes in the game imo
The music in this battle is the best in the game.
I need the track name!

Square, thank you for doing such a good game!! This remake is so awesome!! Can't wait for more!
This fight was so chaotic I seriously have no idea how I ended up winning. I was so busy looking at my health that I didn't even realize how little they had left when you fought them at the same time.
This and the Eligor boss fights are my favorite in the game lol the music in both is elite
The dynamic duo! Reno and Rude! Goggles and Glasses! Spiffy Suit Axel and Morpheus Wannabe! Fighting on a crashing arena!
This battle BLEW MY MIND and that theme song thats playing wow can someone please give me that OST?!
Rematch atop the pillar
My thoughts exactly! The score is superb!
I had absolutely zero strategy during this fight. Except attack and switch and it s actually worked on my first try 🙅🏻♂️🙅🏻♂️
Easy strategy though just put sleep on one of them xD
a big portion of the game can be done like that on normal mode
by switching characters and keep the damage coming
but hard mode is a different story
I dare you do that against the hell house on hard
Had a rough time with these two. Cloud was downed at the end of the fight. Wish I had known these two were vulnerable to sleep and poison. Then again, I should've known.
0:34 Really tought Tifa was going in for a kiss there for a second. My heart skipped a beat.
I pair Cloud X Tifa.
At 13:50 remember how Tseng slaps Aerith in the original?? I’m glad he didn’t slap her in the remake
When I first saw that pre rendered cut scene at the end of the fight, my jaw hit the floor
I had no Materia on Barrett the first time I fought these guys and I got mfing Wupped!
Yep! Actually he did pretty good for not having materia. I kept using him to stun Reno because Reno kept flying around the darn ring with his insane speed.
The game gives you the option to open the menu before the fight, though.
@@Xgil2Play didnt know that on first playthrough though
1:22 "It's nothing personal...bitch!" Lol!
Reno's amazing
God, I love him.
Just noticed something, remember when Marlene hugged arieth? After words, arieth put her index finger in front of her mouth. Not that long afterwords, tseng does the exact same thing on the terminal monitor right before the plate collapse. There is something underlying here that I can't figure out. What do you guys think?
cloud: press it
reno: okay
BOUM!!!
cloud: ( instant regret)
I do think the only reason Reno and Rude lose this fight is because they don't realise they are fighting a Sephiroth clone with enhanced fighting skills. Tifa and Barret would have lost here without Cloud...
My sister called Biggs Ricky martin and Rude Pitbull so every time I fought him she will say "Dale"
I feel bad for wedge, he tried to save his cats 😢😢😢
This fight was so messy...I used half a dozen Phoenix Downs near the end cuz Reno had a hardon for specifically targeting Cloud while Rude chased down whoever I was controlling. Fun fight, though.
lmaooo
This game too good. Can’t wait for Vincent
Holy, the fight itself and the cutscene after it is VERY movie worthy. They even slipped more personality to Reno and Rude about their relations together.
Though, I'm not sure I like how the game using the... mysterious ghosts to cover Rude's mad dash. I feel like it's reasonable to make the party tired enough to get knocked aside by him or something. I can see him getting away from barret by throwing him from his gun arm, jumps over Cloud, and does a short fight with Tifa, his position making it impossible for barret to take a shot.
Nitpicks aside, this is probably the most lively, and dramatic fights I've seen from the game yet~
Well... If SE's intention for the Remake is to alter the possibilities of the timeline so that... certain characters' fates are different, then I think using the Arbiters of Fate to progress the story in this matter is reasonable. It keeps the plot consistent while also providing an explanation for why things are different this time around. What's more, it also makes sense given that the player won that battle. Both Reno and Rude were beaten; without some kind of outside aid they had no chance of defeating the trio anymore. I'm one of those players who really, REALLY hates the "player wins in gameplay, loses anyway in a cutscene" approach that's becoming more common in games these days. So if the developer is to still allow the player to lose on occasion to build stakes or create drama for the purposes of the story, it has to be done via external factors that the player couldn't account for within the fight.
In this scenario, assuming that the Arbiters weren't here, I'd have gone with the "confirmation was sent remotely from Shinra HQ via Tseng" approach. (Which, if you think about it, makes total sense. It would prevent some nutjob from just activating plate separation on the ground without somebody at HQ to confirm that, yes, we DO want to cause a crazy amount of damage and incur staggering financial losses.)
Oh my god they literally killed a whole section of people
The lack of FF7 Abridged comments is disturbing
Reno’s dub VA was also Kazuma from KonoSuba.
16:02 Breakfast, is served.
02:32 Am I the only one hearing some "Summoned Beast Battle" from FFX?
I noticed it too! There were a few little music moments throughout the game that sounded similar to FFX. I hope Nobuo Uematsu had fun remaking his old tunes :)
I think this is probably by the same guy. Junya Nakano I think?
Junya or Masashi Hamauzu for this track. Don't THINK Nobuo had a hand in this one.
Blake Morton Uematsu didn’t remake any songs himself, he composed Hollow but that’s it. Pretty sure he supervised the other composers though.
True. It's got some ambient elements from it.
Один из лучших моментов в игре).
I love Reno so much.
One of the better boss fights.
I hope in the next game you can use 3 players all the time, it makes the game way more fun.
this was definetely the best boss fight in the entire game. so much fun
This was was golden. I almost wanted reno and rude to win
Love Reno and Rude,. I want a spin off where we get Rufus, Reno, and Rude. lol.
After all that effort Barret just let Rude run away from him at the end to initiate the destruction of the plate. Come on man!
Reno and Axel from Kingdom Hearts look they could be long lost twins.
Cloud jumping in to be the human shield for Tifa is the best
Name a more iconic duo.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?!?!?
I can't help but feel that there is no redeeming Reno and Rude after this. I like them but they murdered thousands of innocents. Can't just let that slide.
Kind of hard to think about when you also compare the actions of AVALANCHE killing hundreds of innocent lives with the mako reactor bombings
Feeling you win the battle but still lost. Final Fantasy 7 gg.
Every boss fight music in this game is epic...but this one is INSANELY BLOOD PUMPING!!
Reno straight up disrespected Cloud calling him a bitch ! 😫😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Reno and Rude are the Orenstein and Smough of Final Fantasy.
does turks get special enhancements similar to what SOLDIERS get ? because no joke at this point of the story if only cloud was in this fight they have kicked his ass
nah they are just trained assassins though the reason they are difficult is for gameplay reasons canonically Cloud could wipe the floor with them, though this fight isn't hard if you've played it a few times back to back
They're very highly trained and they *do* have badass materia at their disposal.
They are skilled assassins, plus they have got materia and tech
Its drives my mind crazy when people arrived at this point and still didn't understand what Focused Shot is for.

What makes this fight much more better than the original version is that it actually feels like an all-out battle against the Turks.
In the original version, it was basically:
Attack, step back. Attack, step back. Rinse and repeat.
Nah, this game makes me hate Rude more than anyone else...the moment we pushed the button, thats the moment it becomes personal...nevertheless, Rude is an excellent character in this game.
So.... No ones gonna ask the question that boggles my mind.
What is the zip line attached to at the end after the explosion? They were mid flight when it happened.
Reno is the best to the west!
Would’ve really liked a more zoomed-out perspective of Tseng and Aerith.
Good battle song. FF wins in many ways vs other franchises. Especially music.
This battle was Epic so much nostalgia. I can't wait to face all 3 Turks.
Jeeeeeebus, I REALLY need to get around to playing this eventually. This looks so bloody good, always loved the OG Reno & Rude.
If there was ever a reason to make a full spin off anime series, they would be it.
removing the slap on aeris by tseng was lame from Square. the grim lore of original ff7 was what made it special, u could feel it even through the polygon models
I didn't mind it. She was the last Ancient. And they wouldn't want a scratch on her. She was very precious to Shinra.
Plus with Crisis Core Tseng was close with Zack, who was close to Aerith. It makes sense that he wouldn't slap her, in my opinion.
I was more bummed over the fact that Tseng wasn't there, and it was just over a screen, especially since that screen should be destroyed as Barret was just shooting at it 30 seconds ago lol
Funny how this game reduced the violent elements (Tseng slapping Aerith for instance) but FF 16 is full blood and gore!
Andy took out the blood scene on trail of blood
