It's an incredible sensation when you're playing a game that you've held high expectations for, and yet they somehow exceed even that. I fucking love this remake.
Can you *IMAGINE* what the weapons fights will look like? I think im going to need a box of tissues afterwards, most certainly not for tears however...
@chrisutubeism If they had crammed FF7's entire story into one single remake it might have came out as a disaster. Don't forget that they can now elaborate and expand on so much stuff that we barely got to see in the OG game.
@chrisutubeism It IS a good game sir. Just because it wasn't the entire story line doesn't mean it "could" have been good. The way the story was written has divided a lot of fans, understandably, but that still didn't make the game bad. I also don't know how they could have fit the entire original game into a single game with today's standard game design without having to remove a lot of content from the original game. The Midgar section story alone was over 100gb big. I loved this game, I had more fun with the Remake than the original. I give it 9/10 easy.
@chrisutubeism you do realize that the original Final Fantasy 7 is a BIG game right? As far as I know, it needed separate disks to include everything from the story

A critique I have about this remake. I played the original, and rewatched playthoughs of the original game in recent times. The story in the original was big but straight forward, we got to experience the story along the way. This remake however, it seems intent on adding to much at once. Like how does Barret know so much about the lifeblood of the planet? In the game we found out the full story of that from Bugenhagen later on, how the souls of the planet join the lifestream. In the original Barret wanted revenge on shinra because of what it did to his hometown, he wanted to take them out because of that, not because he had insight into what shinra was doing to the planet and lifestream. The characters in this remake seem to just know more about themselves and the world long before they even leave midgar. I know they seem to be playing this possible story twist that due to jenovas powers it is providing a look into the future, as if this is meant to change the story somehow. To me, I just think their adding far to many unnecessary details for an already well made story.
Barret knew that Mako was the lifeblood of the planet in the original game, too, all the way from the beginning of the game- he always knew what Shinra was doing to the planet.
