lvl 1 limit breaks: you just kinda hit them a little harder than usual
lvl 4 limit breaks: you transform into an omnigod of death and destruction. the sky turns pitch black as you fire a death ray powerful enough to leave the fabric of reality in ruin.

What causes more damage? Cid's highwind or cloud's omnislash?
@@abrahammartinez3603 Cloud's does 15 hits for 3/4 damage and Cid's does 18 hits for 11/16 (less than 3/4, which is also 12/16) damage. However, Cloud does crit during those and I am unsure if it affects damage calculation.
Great Gospel looked great.......for all three times I got to use it.

Played this game for the first time last year. Didn't know when Aeris was going to die and I forgot to use the item on her that gives her Great Gospel before she died. Now it sits in my inventory with shame....

also Barret: *somehow owns his own personal multi-billion Gil planetary bombardment satellite*
So I fought AND beat the Ruby Weapon ONLY to DIE in a random battle afterwards due to Cait Sith's Death Joker limit break...WITHOUT SAVING. I think I jus stared at my screen at the game over sign, powered off my PS1 and took a nap.

+Anthony Peppers Cait Sith actually beat Emerald Weapon for me. The little grim reaper came out and stabbed him once with the little dagger and he exploded. I couldn't believe it worked on him.
Why oh why did they create a limit break that instantly defeats your team thus ending your game in a loss? Unfair. Unless the move could have been used on the enemy.

Its weird, all the other limit breaks for yuffie and red XIII feel in character, but then their level 4 is just a random murder beam out of nowhere.
Reused assets maybe?
I didn't realize how strong Yuffie was with her level 3 it's like Omnislash

If all your characters are hitting for 9999, Angermax and Highwind are the strongest because they hit the most, ignoring Cait Sith's instakill of course.

I think Tifa’s are my favorite, getting all the moves chained together later on is so satisfying and fun to watch. Also, as annoying as it can be that you can’t control Vincent during his, having him pop off with Chaos during the final area really helped me out.

Cait Sith's Limit Break on Emerald Weapon was actually how I beat it back in the day. My brothers and I couldn't stop screaming.
same, my first kill on emerald was weapon was using game over. However, it was by complete accident.
On Cid's Dragon Dive, I always hit the command button in rhythm with Cid's dives with the hopes of getting more jumps. The things that Super Mario RPG does to people...

cait sith's game over and aerith's great gospel are literally the two strongest moves in the game. the former causes instant death and the latter makes you invincible
@Johnston Steiner As in FFX Zanmato? That was easy to trigger if you paid reasonably well and made sure he didn't KO in combat. Game Over is leagues beyond in terms of luck to trigger.

I think there was sort of a trick to getting it all the time.
Saddest part is that the move that makes you invincible cannot even be used for any good fights lol

@@shrivathssansurendarakumar4443 No. You can potentially stack 8 hits, and if your ATK isn't maxxed out, you can double each attack by getting "YEAH"s across the board. Only drawback is if there are multiple targets you don't get to choose who gets hit.
@@shrivathssansurendarakumar4443 top tier is Cloud-Cid-Barret and following got to be Yuffie (but she is an optional character) The rest of character arent as precise as those 4 in terms of consistent damage for their own mechanic.
All the character in ff7 are good because you dont necessarily need to rely in limits breaks there is a lot of materia, items, weapons etc.
And that is the extra challenge, because cat sith add that extra layer of unpredictable outcome is qhat make it an extra layer more challenging, same goes to vincent and tifa.
Tifa just add that extra layer of difficulty wich it is welcome too

I would kind of prefer if they went the Dirge of Cerberus route and just made it so his main transformation was Galean Beast and they just fleshed that one out.

I have several things to say here.
1-I love how Red XIII and Yuffie's limit level 2 and 3 are better than their limit level 4.
2- I did not know that Cait Sith had that many toy box animation... and to think he was my main (alongside Cloud and Barret) the first time I beat the game.
3-Cid has the best Limit break IMO, and even as an anti-smoker, I think that Lighting his dynamite with his cigarette is badass.

I really hope he's still a chainsmoker in the remake, it's kind of a really important part of his character, really cements the 'Alcoholic Step-Dad' vibe he's putting down.

Love who you had Cloud and Aeris use their final limit breaks before and was cool to see Caith Sith kill Emerald Weapon I'd never seen that done before!
best ever was when I got Game Over for Cait Sith on Ruby Weapon like 5 seconds into the fight.

I think the opinion is split on that one, we'll have to have Sabin and Tifa have a suplex-off.
I totally want to see this in ff7 remake, totally hoping they are not going to reduce the size of these limit breaks
(and I hope they will finally explain when the heck Barret launched a satellite into space with a laser cannon on it)

Didnt u heard it take 2 disc that mean it huge.
I don't understand because in the remake they enable Barret to have his last two limit breaks already that were in the original game: 'Angermax' + 'Catastrophe' so it's kinda disappointing to know that they give him his most powerful limit breaks already... perhaps they will give him powerfuller ones in the next chapter who knows...
They made some limit breaks just regular abilities (like Braver) and renamed some of them.
Cloud's omnislash is now called Ascension. It's like they combined Climhazzard with Omnislash.
Pretty sick.

I remember when I was first trying to complete this game and against Sephiroth when you can have 2 different teams against him Cait Sith used 'death joker' and fucked everything up. Don't think i've ever forgiven the moggy prick.

This just reminded me how badass Yuffie is. I can't wait to see her in the remake. I'm so damn psyched for part two. I might not even play as any of the other character's once I've got her playable. XD
Seeing how unique and powerful/broken Aerith's Limit Breaks are kinda feel like foreshadowing to the player losing her at some point. No way a good game would let you keep hold of such techniques throughout its entirety. 😗

All of Vincent's limits have saved my ass in almost all bosses.. Thank goodness for Vince.
Galian beast: Demon wall, Jenova life and Palmer
Death Gigas: Schizo, Jenova death, Carry Armor, Reno, Rude and Elena, Hojo, Proud Clod, Diamond Weapon, and all the bosses to get the huge materia.
Chaos: Jenova Synthesis, Bizarro sephiroth and Safer Sephiroth.
Never used hell-masker, did once and realized he wasn't as strong as Chaos or Death Gigas. But Chaos was and still is my favorite.

I've never used KOTR on bizzaro sephiroth. He's just too simple. I've used Vincent's Chaos, Cloud's Omnislash, and Tifa's reels to take out Safer Sephiroth. Did not use KOTR, because it lasts too long.

Vincent's limit's were probably the worst in the game IMO just because you can't control him for the rest of the fight.
Vincent is helpful in a lot of ways, but you have to be careful on Limits since you cannot control him

Its JUST A COOL ATTACK. Nothing more. One of Sephiroths attacks destroys the whole galaxy multiple times. You're not meant to think about it, just enjoy the scenery..
In reality satellites were put into space before any astro/cosmonauts. The Sputnik I was launched in 1957.

Thanks again! I'll look into doing this. Haven't played the game in years and played it both originally on the PS1 as well as PC. When I have the time, I'm going to try this. Aside from the nostalgia, this simply looks crisp and beautiful, it'll add a whole new element to the enjoyment of the game!

death joker is by far my favorite limit break. i couldnt help but laugh when it happened the first time. and any time it does happen i almost always expect a "wah wah wah" sound effect to play.

God damn this game was so much fun! I remember grinding out hardcore in this game to get all 3rd limits before leaving Midgar. It was so gratifying using Meteorain in Shinra Tower : ) . I wish I had the time in my life to play through this game again like that, but as a 34 year old adult it's a bit tough. A combination of my girlfriend and I being connected at the hip, working over full time hours, and just enjoying life/going out...I will likely never play through this again like I did when I was a kid. I'll always have the fun memories of playing this game for 6 hours a day on top of going to middle school. I almost didn't pass 8th grade because of this game I remember lol...this and Counter Strike were my achilles heel that year (1998).
If you really want to you'll make time but I totally understand the feeling that's why I always take PTO from work about a week or so and just play games from my childhood but that's what makes me haoot

i like the compilation of all the limit breaks of all 9 FF7 characters. Very well done. Nice editing, although some part seem edited out a couple of seconds too fast before the limit breaks is completely over. But its cool and interesting, keeps viewers interested and less likely to get bored if it gets too long. I love the various locations and different enemies you use to show each character limit breaks. i love variety.

Man for some reason I teared up a little with Red XIII's limit.
I mean I'd already been building up nostalgia from watching this, then I saw that Cosmo Memory is the manifestation of the memories he had of his caring Mother, his courageous Father's sacrifice, his wise mentor and surrogate grandfather who taught him to listen to the cries of the Earth and see the stars as living beings, and the memory of all the people he grew up with and his homeland of the Cosmo Canyons he had to leave behind.
Seeing Barret's Satellite Beam attack, I just realized his animation for it is the same as Laguna's version in Dissidia 012. I never noticed that until just now, very good touch.
It's also the machinist's limit break in ff14, so that's fun
great video! every 2 or 3 years i feel the need to play it again.
Seeing all these animations reminds me of Wizard 101 where you practically have to sit through all the animations of each move / card attack every, single , time!!
I used to think Cait Sith's limits were cool, until I got the last one which kills off all your party. At that point, I reset the limit back to dice lol. It was especially annoying since I hadn't saved for awhile.

Aerith and Red 13 has some neat limit breaks that I never knew about. And I just realized Vincent's Chaos transformation is a reference to the last boss from FF1.
I'm excited to see the next chapter limit breaks for the remake.

What's funny is that's EXACTLY how I beat Emerald Weapon when I played the game awhile ago... I was just a few attacks away from being annihilated, and I thought "what the hell, I'll use Cait's limit break". Then I saw the "Game Over" message and I thought "shit, I got the bad one that kills your party instantly". boy, was I surprised : D

As I understand it, they were just side characters, not main characters. The main character was some new spiky-haired guy.

LaciFrerrtani : Good choices. Great Gospel takes a lot of the challenge from Demons Gate. It seems most players consider that boss second to Sephiroth, so that's a pretty nifty place to use it.

Absolutely agree! I never stuck around long enough with cait sith to learn all the limit break moves, usually had cloud, barrett and sid in my party. After I posted my comment I had a look around to see what I could learn about them, I was genuinely surprised to discover the instant victory move even works on bosses and the weapon fights! 16 years on and i'm still learning new things in this game :P

Man. It’s been SO long. I absolutely LOVE FF7. I have a PS mini but I just downloaded it on my Switch. But can’t wait for the remake! It won’t be the “same” (not turn based, action RPG) but I’m sure it’ll be damn good nonetheless!

Had no idea Cait could insta-kill Ruby. I tried everything. In the end, I discovered that Throw worked - if you threw Gil at Ruby. Expensive, but it worked.

I beefed up all my characters with speed ups but Galian Beast is still the fastest form in the game especially when you stack on haste.

I can’t believe I only noticed NOW-and I’ve played this awesome game so many times since its release-that Cid kind of resembles a dragoon: He can equip lances and spears and two of his Limit Breaks are jumps, and one plus another are dragon-themed!
I love how for cloud’s omnislash they have a bell toll so you’re basically dead and you know it when you get hit by it
