@@sleepervq605 Bingo - and even when doing that - I've seen all three of the following: gains, losses, no changes.... Is there a specific proven combo that you've found?
Heads up: For cleaning/refreshing - the K&N filter cleaner spray works wonders for those that live in the SW where you get that finer powder like sand in the air + the separate oil that comes in a can that you can spray from K&N (they do not come together in a kit). I've found that combo to work really well. I didn't like/enjoy the bottle of oil methodology (this is the cleaning kit)...so get the spray (they make you buy separately), as it's much easier to get even with using the correct amount in order to avoid any MAF issues down the road. I drove through monument valley in a crazy wind storm (apocalypse mad max style!) - When I got home, the next day, popped the front bumper and both intakes were just covered. No amount of washing in the sink or even using a bucket/water method really got them super clean. Using the K&N spray cleaner, then letting them sit for about 15 mins, then back in the bucket with water = looked like new again! Then let sit in sun to dry out for a hour or so, then hit with a light coat of K&N oil spray conditioner

One intake that I’m trying right now is the k&n air intake system with the heat shield, and tbh with you it’s actually quite good, because the heat shield does quite a good job, and there so much gap for air to flow in from the bottom.
