I've been looking at getting a 370z, c5 or c6 corvette(LS2 engine) and supercharging them. If I go the corvette route I will get a mild cam as well. The costs seems to be about equal to build either one of these cars. Issue is for me is that the corvettes will be faster supercharged than the 370z but the Z can handle the twisties better from what I've read. I've seen the 370z cars on here run about mid 11s on these kits compared to mid to high 10s on the vettes.
C6 is best all around, power, speed, and twisties, you're better off saving and getting an LS3 though, way more power. Stock they beat scat packs, and with a mild cam and headers, they'll beat a hellcat (ask me how I know) way better car. Unless you just HAVE to have a jdm car. My weekend car is my vette and my daily is a 17 FBO E85 Si which can eat fbo 370Z and scats (do with that info as you wish) yes buying. 370Z will be like 18K, but adding 10K (28K total) in mods plus car for barely 480Hp when a simple tune on an ls3 vette and headers will put you up there is a way better deal...also have to think, when will I have the time and money to actually upgrade my vehicle? The ls3 is fast enough stock.
@@sebastianblas3109 What you just mention is what I go back and forth on. Now seeing these pandemic prices it's almost the same for some 370s and C6. For that same amount of money I would be wayyyyy faster in the vette. Like you said as well a cam and other mods can beat a hellcat. That's impressive. Also for me personally the vette is cheaper on insurance in my area. than the 370z. Lol.
@@jaws2003 seems you have your mind made up, but before you do, you have to think about maintenance cost when buying ANY car. A vette is super easy to work on, and parts can be found at any parts store just about. But a common failure is the master cylinder on the early c6 models, but it's again, something that can be done at home by anyone with a jack and jack stands. Nissans are a little tight spaced, and belive it or not, a little more expensive to work on, especially when paying someone. I'm a tech so I do everything myself, but just understand the view point of money you have to spend if something breaks (which on both cars you should have an issue) 370's have some problems with clutch slave cylinders going bad (and you have to drop the tranny to replace it, as well as fuel starvation issues, but it's almost always fuel pump which can he accessed though inside the car, where on a vette, it can not. @@sebastianblas3109 thanks!!! I will add you on IG.I was looking up maintenance as well and saw that the slave cylinder would go bad. Hey carizon, I'm currently planning out my 370z supercharger build, I have been for a couple of months. I get back from deployment in August, is there a business email I could reach you by for any questions or consultation?
Ok, as of november 15th 2024, i bought c38r supercharger, 4 bar kmni sensor, FID 1300cc injectors from topguns (i dealt with aaron) $7800-7850 after taxes and shipping. Return fuel system S1.E with hellcat 525lph from admintuning for $1300. Stage 4 super 6 clutch and 19" billet flywheel with CMAK kit for $1367. All should be delivered to a shop at the latest december 6th, 2024. I paid 10k for labor and a fully built engine, perry proof engine(me proof). So, basically, just over $20k for my build so far. I also have carbon fiber vis ams hood, c.f. roof cap, c.f. rear window louvers for $3300 after taxes and shipping from fly1 motorsports. When i lived in hawaii i got Carbon fiber vented front fenders from fly1 motorsports in 2020, $1500, c.f. v-2 duckbill trunk lid with back up camera hole for and c.f. v-2 carbon fiber rear diffuser (forget from where) for $2200. Kw v1's $2k, front and rear sway bars $1k, long tube headers $1200, takeda long tube dual CAI and exhaust from lth to tip like $1700(forget where and it was a package deal) There you go on what ive spent so far. 😅😅😅
Not only was it 0*F here in Texas, but, the wind chill got down to -18*, A lot of my friends have lost power since the 15th, and pipes are bursting everywhere... it’s really bad...
I can't remember if you''ve mentioned this before did you also upgrade your intakes as well? Like instead of using the stock intake box & filters, are you now using longer tube intakes for more airflow into the car?
The supercharger basically replaces anything related to the intake. There's no regular N/A intake anymore just basically a filter on the intake of the supercharger which it's basically in this case a belt driven turbo
I've got a 350z vq35de. Been looking at boosting possibly. I've been seeing recommendations for lower compression pistons if going for boost. Thoughts on this? Great video!
You could try just running a higher octane fuel. If you want to run pump gas and high boost then lower compression may be needed to keep the car running reliably.
Hey I dont understand how much it cost for the automatic transmission portion upgrade. If you could reply saying the parts and cost for upgrade on 7AT estimated?
Great videos.Thank you! How much torque/HP can G37x handle with 7-speed automatic tranny? My target would be 400 rwhp.I would not track my car or race. But I worry about stress on rest of the drivetrain. I would appreciate your input. Thank you again!!

I will keep my HR with my full bolt ons and up rev tune, no turbo kits for 350z or 370z RHD so stillen supercharger £15k that's in your money $21000! including labour, I have no what you can buy for $21k but I am quessing most of you won't FI your z if it was that much? you can get a merc 2011 c63 estate or as you call it a wagon with 94k for £16k. Thats today just checked on uk e Bay both the 350 and 370 were total flops in the UK lucky to see one in 3 months that's why I love mine as a daily.
thats expensive af without labor lol. I would have to include labor because I dont want to put in the time to do it myself, so i would be looking at 20k+. i dont think its worth it to make a little over 500hp. But then again, there are not many cars out there for a low price and a lot of power.
Oddly, it makes sense for me to do this where I live. We have RTA taxes and 10.5% sales tax when I buy a new car. All of the sudden, $10k makes a lot of sense, as my first year of buying and owning a brand new performance car would be over $10k just to the tax man!
name a car that pushes more than 500hp for $20k or less. That's pretty much the same amount you are going to spend to supercharge any car, sometimes even more..
@@j.a.3138 pretty much none, so i get your point. But there are cars that dont cost much more that can make 500+ with mods much easier than this car. 2012 c63 amg. cost 30k and can supercharge with supporting mods for 10k to make way over 500. 370z is 20k + 15k is a little over 500. It's not the best example but overall yes i agree, most ppl are gonna spend a good chunk to make over 500.
Z1 states the 34 row oil cooler is recommended for forced induction setups. Do you agree with that or believe the 25 row is plenty good enough? Are your oil temps high after foil a few intense pulls like say 220f?
220f is not 'high', the max oil temp this car from manual I believe is 280. At cruising it sits at 220f on the freeway during spring. If it gets above maybe 240 I would start being more concerned.
I’ve had a 34 row for the last year or two on my N/A NISMO. My temps dropped from 220 to 180 no matter how I drive. It’s worth it and I don’t burn any oil. But I needed it since I live in Florida and it’s hot as balls here.
Yes, and the kit comes with it. 15 psi of boost, if you shut the throttle bodies and the supercharger is still being driven you will break something unless you can blow off the pressure.
So I’ve got a used kit stillen a2a, missing a few parts but I’ve got fuel and proper tune. As soon as I get the idler and manifold I can install and pray it’s reliable with my stock 7AT. But I planed on upgrading the valves and flex plate. Sound reliable to you?
I would try and upgrade your trans asap. Reliability will come down to how you drive it, how conservative the tune is, and how well the parts were installed, + maintenance.
@@crod6431 Not sure I can give a recommendation one way or the other. Depends how well it's maintenanced etc, and the older the motor the higher the risk of engine failure.
In Germany we pay complete 15 k € with ecu flash/ exhaust / stillen SC Edit: that's 18.200,00 € and its illegal 😆 u must go to the TÜV for the certification of the system ~ 2k € extra = over 20 k $ 😳
@@thecarizon504 u must pay for every new part that u put it on Your Car. Wheels/ suspension/ aero/ seats/ exhaust system. New is this year , that u only install a exhaus system with a ABE or EG certification. Exhaust like Tomei /amuse/ stillen / spoon is not allowed 😔 its a sad world here
You didn't upgrade any internals?? How long have you had this vortech on this beautiful Z. I'm just curious of your opinion on your the stock rods? Stock head bolts. Stock pistons?
Yeah I was just curious of what you think is best. I mean if you got the money of course build. But you see so many opinions out there it's frustrating. I have a 05 vq35de. And if I can get away with not opening up and staying dependable I would. You see guys put tons of power thru these things with never touching them. But tune is everything. I know the 370z is much stronger. But great job man. You spent the money where it counts.
@@hankstar.1 there are quite a few guys running stock internals and hitting mid 600's to even low 700's reliably with proper maintenance and supporting mods. You can find them here on YT and within 370Z forums. A couple things that are important for the supercharger kits hitting high numbers is an A2A kit and hard intake piping. The normal stillen kit doesn't have these which is why it's only good for 400hp
I looked at a TT Kit for my 370z the kit alone is 25k the exhaust would be an aditional 11k and all of it with indtalation fees would codt me almost 40k… welcome in switzerland…
I am assuming you are referring to the RZG kit, 5800 is hardly half price compared to 6500. And that price, like many other kits out there, does not include fuel upgrades, tuning, other supporting mods that I detailed here. I also don't like the idea of running intake and exhaust plumbing both under the car, especially with a lowered vehicle there is a lot of risk of damaging the plumbing.
for 40k you might as well just get a GTR and upgrade the parts little by little and do a tune lol. But it seems you saved a shit ton of money. 13-15k isn't bad if you really love the car.
Right? I'm surprised when I see some people dropping that much on these cars, but some people just love them that much. If I had 40k to drop, deffinetely would look for something else. 🤔
@@thecarizon504 Yeah depending on your taste and what you prefer, i feel like if you love nissan, just buy the cars that already have all that available. The 370 is just a baby gtr with no turbos imo
@@j.a.3138 yeah but most people who buy a GTR arent even thinking of doing that. Most people have the money in the pocket to upgrade exhaust, turbos, and do a tune.
I got a question, so for the kit you didn’t need to forge your pistons? Or anything like that? I wanna get this kit and run 500-550wheel horsepower and am alittle curious
The more mods on the engine, the more to maintain. I prefer not to mod my 370z engine and transmission. I am content with the stock speed. I only put in aftermarket wheels and coilovers. Front lip. Rear diffuser. Rear ducktail wing spoiler. That's it. I do not want to destroy my 370z by driving it on a race track. Clean is better. If i had a junk 370z then i will build it for the track but that is not really necessary. I don't want to waste my time. Nobody race for pink slips nowadays. Or for money. I don't even need money. Why? Your guess. Screw this.
Simply because I love the 370Z. It was a dream of mine to boost this car for over a decade, ever since before I could drive. I love this car and wanted to see what I could do with it. Not to mention it provided tons of content for the channel.
The 400Z will get spanked by his 370Z. I'm sure he can take most camaros, scat packs, and mustangs around here in Dallas too. Make them hop off 635 in embarrassment 😆 a stock GTR can't even hang with a decent FI 370Z

thats expensive af without labor lol. I would have to include labor because I dont want to put in the time to do it myself, so i would be looking at 20k+. i dont think its worth it to make a little over 500hp. But then again, there are not many cars out there for a low price and a lot of power.
Keep in mind it assumes you have nothing done already. With labor you could probably make it happen for 15k including labor from bone stock.
Would you recommend getting a BOV with this supercharger kit?
Yes, and the kit comes with it.
15 psi of boost, if you shut the throttle bodies and the supercharger is still being driven you will break something unless you can blow off the pressure.
Do you have a link or more info about Eugene T.'s twin turbo kit? I have Aaron's kit, but I like to read up on boost kits for our platform.
They haven't posted a lot of info yet. Supposed to use the GTR turbos, maybe make 8psi.
thanks for the breakdown, get info
do you have videos on all the installs of the parts?
Check the channel.
Is this usa dollars
So I’ve got a used kit stillen a2a, missing a few parts but I’ve got fuel and proper tune. As soon as I get the idler and manifold I can install and pray it’s reliable with my stock 7AT. But I planed on upgrading the valves and flex plate. Sound reliable to you?
I would try and upgrade your trans asap. Reliability will come down to how you drive it, how conservative the tune is, and how well the parts were installed, + maintenance.
It can definitely be reliable though.
@@thecarizon504 yeah I’m definitely on top of maintenance. I plan to daily it but on a conservative tune, 340 pump and 800cc injectors btw
Off topic. Where can I get that jacket??
I don't think they sell it anymore.
I have a 2010 Infiniti G37XS Sedan w/ Auto Transmission. Can this upgrade be done to my car?
Yes, there are supporting mods for both platforms that run about the same price.
@@thecarizon504 Great. Would you recommend this with 137,000 miles?
@@crod6431 Not sure I can give a recommendation one way or the other. Depends how well it's maintenanced etc, and the older the motor the higher the risk of engine failure.
@@thecarizon504 What mileage did your car have when you upgraded?
@@crod6431 55,000
Where’d you get that nismo hoodie :0
I don't think it's for sale anymore, tried finding it.
stillen has the only carb legal kit though right?
Yes, but the topgunz kit is supposed to be carb certified in the future. The current rotrex revision may be possible to certify
In Germany we pay complete 15 k € with ecu flash/ exhaust / stillen SC
Edit: that's 18.200,00 € and its illegal 😆 u must go to the TÜV for the certification of the system ~ 2k € extra = over 20 k $ 😳
Yes, I've heard of the extensive inspection process of The TUV. 😳
No, didn't upgrade internals, going to cross that bridge probably when I do ethanol.
@@hankstar.1 I've heard around 500whp is safe for a stock VQ but it's going to depend on a lot of factors
@@GR1MR34PER33 whats a2a and its benefits?
So basically with labor fees it’s like 20k damn
I looked at a TT Kit for my 370z the kit alone is 25k the exhaust would be an aditional 11k and all of it with indtalation fees would codt me almost 40k… welcome in switzerland…
I just want to make 400 hp so I can put on a new 400r badge.
why not rear mount turbo for half the price?
The 370 is just a baby gtr with no turbos imo
you still gonna spend a lot more money to supercharge the GTR. the alpha kit 14x for the gtr is $14k alone. Now add $6k-8k in parts
@@j.a.3138 yeah but most people who buy a GTR arent even thinking of doing that. Most people have the money in the pocket to upgrade exhaust, turbos, and do a tune.
GTRs are like atleast 70k. Way different level. maintenance is more. just doing a tune, exhaust is expensive. 40k isnt enough.
Guess I'll go with a modest NA build lol
I live in FW so I feel ya haha
I got a question, so for the kit you didn’t need to forge your pistons? Or anything like that? I wanna get this kit and run 500-550wheel horsepower and am alittle curious
So basically. Cost of car plus the max amount of what you said which is 40k. I can go buy a redeye hellcat
And you'll still get your doors blown off by a FI 370Z js
Is your supercharger kit carb legal?
welcome to my world I live in NY that's what we get to deal with lol
🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Thought you had a twin😂😂😂
The more mods on the engine, the more to maintain. I prefer not to mod my 370z engine and transmission. I am content with the stock speed. I only put in aftermarket wheels and coilovers. Front lip. Rear diffuser. Rear ducktail wing spoiler. That's it. I do not want to destroy my 370z by driving it on a race track. Clean is better. If i had a junk 370z then i will build it for the track but that is not really necessary. I don't want to waste my time. Nobody race for pink slips nowadays. Or for money. I don't even need money. Why? Your guess. Screw this.
I was wondering why you are watching this video given your thinking..
But why? That could be a down payment for a 400z 🤦🏻♂️
Simply because I love the 370Z. It was a dream of mine to boost this car for over a decade, ever since before I could drive. I love this car and wanted to see what I could do with it. Not to mention it provided tons of content for the channel.
@@thecarizon504 are you going to sell your Z later on or keep it
@@j.a.3138 i'm keeping it.
The 400Z will get spanked by his 370Z. I'm sure he can take most camaros, scat packs, and mustangs around here in Dallas too. Make them hop off 635 in embarrassment 😆 a stock GTR can't even hang with a decent FI 370Z
