You can find entire lists on articles if you just go a simple Google search. It's really depressing that they're allowed to compete.
And to put into context they make up the smallest proportion of athletes. I think one crucial element with the Olympics is that an athlete who gets gold recieves up to several 100 k from his respective country. Every country has a different scheme, most are lower, but it still is a significant sum for an amateur. Now I'm not saying this is the main reason or in fact any reason for the people involved. I dont think anyone would undergo gendertreatment for the money. But it is an incentive for them to get recognized in normal Olympics since separate transgender Olympics would be like Paralympics. You do realize that MTF trans people take estrogen? The amount of it they take makes them much closer to women than men when it comes to athletic ability.
@@danielmay7266 taking oestrogen means nothing! no amount of oral or injected oestrogen will undo the organizational effects of androgens during puberty. on average, individuals who have gone through puberty as males will have height, strength, speed on their side. I support people embracing their own unique sexuality but this insistence on competing in female events after a mtf transition has nothing to do with an individual being allowed their own private life.
The problem here is that the people who keep saying that MtF women who have undergone a year of testosterone suppression still retain a significant competitive advantage don't actually have any evidence to support their claim outside of "lol I'm just right". This lack of evidence is exactly why the IOC hasn't changed their rules in the past couple years despite how much it's been talked about.

Do trans athlete have an unfair advantage? Do big women have an unfair advantage? Do big men have an unfair advantage? Do young people have an unfair advantage against "senior citizens"? Is that even a question? Is not. That why there regulations and categories. In the past women fight to have their own category because there were invisible behind men. To be fair in some point I history in boxing everyone belong to a unique category, but they created a bunch of categories because a big men have actually advantage against smaller men.

@@laurenkelley1171 the cyclist in the video says that Dutch women are taller and that is an advantage. Why isn't there a Dutch women category in competition? Nonsense, we say, it's not important enough to make that a category. And therefore, we are assigning a value judgement. Extending this logic, if we don't make a category exception for physically stronger dutch women, then it's inconsistent to make exceptions for women in general on the basis of physical differences. Perhaps you could say its consistent because only weaker groups get their own categories (e.g. no controversy with transmen competing with men), but even here it's not ALL weaker groups. Save for boxing, weaker men don't get their own categories. Trans women then say their exclusion is based on gender, not physical differences.
But the difference is Dutch woman is born taller, it would be different if a man who passed thought male puberty (who is probably taller than average female) transitioned recently to female.
Tyler Knight If I’m understanding you correctly, you say that a Dutch-woman-only category would be necessary to give weaker woman an equal opportunity. The only problem is that height is not always necessarily an advantage. Just because a Dutch woman is taller it doesn’t mean they are faster or stronger than another woman. But when it comes to any competitive sport in the olympics, things like bone density, amount of muscle and lung size certainly do matter. Men are biologically stronger not just because of their height, but greatly because of these factors. Which is why there is a separate category for both men and women.
Trans women on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) have the same levels of testosterone as cis woman. These athletes take estrogen and progesterone which significantly drop muscle mass and make it harder to gain muscle. Basically they are on the same level as cis women. Of course that only applies to trans people on HRT. There should be regulation and testing for testosterone levels but all in all its unfair to exclude athletes from sport when science tells us that they don't have a biological advantage
@@anastliliop5819 Men have stronger bones by design than women, biologically. Taking estrogen, makes those bones even stronger. A mans heart, lungs, and limbs don't get shorter or smaller. Transgender athletes must have a separate competition of their own to be fair. Biological women must compete with their sport. There is no hate there, we are just arguing for the sake of fairness and establishment of integrity of the sport and competition.
I agree with not permitting trans women in normal women competition. The physical difference between biological men and women has always been an irrefutable fact.

Little to no financial gain.
No one in their right mind thinks a biological male should be permitted to compete as a women. This isn't 'controversial', it's patently absurd.

The problem here is that the people who keep saying that MtF women who have undergone a year of testosterone suppression still retain a significant competitive advantage don't actually have any evidence to support their claim outside of "lol I'm just right". its unfair that trans women can participate with other women. Its not even about being discriminatory but they are just physically different.
Why does the women's category even exist then?
Tyler Knight Because men are biologically built stronger than women. Having them separate isn’t in any way to be sexist, it’s to be fair.

Anyone with a brain understands perfectly well why men's and women's competitive sports are separate and I doubt that anyone thinks that needs any debating. So how can anyone with a brain be in favour of making any exceptions to this gender separation in sport? It doesn't matter what you wear or how you feel or how you want to be seen by others..... those things do not change the physical gender you are. You must, therefore, stay on your side of the gender dividing line in competitive sport or simply just not compete. If you, as a trans woman, do not respect that then, not only do you have no sense of decency or fairness, you evidently have no respect for women either. Consequently, you do not deserve my respect, nor anyone else's, and all sporting bodies should ban you from all women's competitive sport.
