Naaaa.... she rehearsed that speech once and again, she admitted that. You won't actually find her on RUclips really speaking German, apart from that one speech, over and over... yes, she would talk about the language, give some example words, teach some curses, but all in all she doesn't communicate in German, not fluently (far away from fluent, actually). Which is a shame, considering she actually did grow up as a child with the German part of her family, in Germany.
@@WillyWeiss-HH you'll forget to pronounce fluently over time. But you will still be able to understand and write without any problem once you learned it. The tongue needs time to remember, it takes practice.
@@WillyWeiss-HH how is she far from fluent when she was raised speaking both German and English? I think she didn’t feel confident speaking it in public for fear of making a mistake. My cousin was raised speaking Spanish and English she speaks English more often so even though she’s fluent she won’t speak to just anyone in Spanish. She always said she was worried she would get the wrong word or make a grammatical mistake and didn’t want to be embarrassed.
I met Vigo Mortenson in Mexico City at a local dentists office. He was waiting for, what I assumed was his friend, and I was waiting for my brother and we had an pleasant conversation in perfect spanish. He was THE nicest actor person I've ever met, second goes to Eva Green, when I recognized him I said "Are you Mr. Mortenson" and his response was "Por favor; Viggo" then we talked about sports, the city, local restaurants etc; All in spanish. As he was leaving we shook hands and I said, "My brother is never gonna believe me" in english and he realized I was also a polyglot and he goes, and this is a direct quote, "you little rascal!" and "bis spater!" and as he's leaving out the door I go; "pas si je te vois an premier" and he laughed out loud as the door closed. Great memory.
Viggo Mortensen speaks 7 languages and not just some phrases, he's fluent. I think he must be at number one spot. Maybe because he has lived in the countries of the languages he speaks, is not on the list? Who knows.
'We are excluding interactions that took place in the artists' native language...' first entry, Timothee Chalamet, and describe how he grew up speaking the language, and spent summers with his grandparents in France. 🤔
I thought the SAME THING! Why wouldn’t Charlize Theron make the list? I didn’t know she spoke Afrikaans. Mila Kunis defending Timberlake while speaking Ukrainian is a classic clip that should have been included too!
I think it depends on how bilingualism is or can be classified. Even if you learn two languages in tandem, one will always dominate the other. Usually, where/how you live will determine your "native" language. Though it is a gray area, with natural bilingualism.
You got that right he is amazing i could only speak 3 Arabic English Indonesian, unlike my dad, he could to( he is my mentor) plus Bali language, Javanese, maduranis, and sundanice, ( west part of Java )
Kobe Bryant became fluent in Italian when his dad played basketball there & his family lived there. I have seen Kobe do interviews on Italian tv news programs completely in Italian.
Christopher Lee who could speak Italian, French, Spanish, German, and English fluently. He also had moderate proficiency in Greek, Russian, and Swedish plus was conversationally fluent in Mandarin and had some background in Latin. Just one of the things that made him such an incredible human being.
I had the pleasure of spending the day with him many years ago and it's not just that he could speak multiple languages but that he always had such fascinating things to say, no matter which language he was using. A remarkable man.

It’s a crime not to put Viggo Mortensen on the list. He speaks (even acted) fluent Danish and Spanish, conversation French and Italian, I feel like these videos often put the most well-known celebrities on the list and ignore the others is quite a letdown.
As an Italian I can attest that Colin Firth's Italian is flawless. Thank you for make me notice he started using his hands too, to me it looks so natural I didn't think it was due to code switching
But if timothée is half french and has french citizenship, surely that counts as a native language since he is bilingual because of his french father? so surely he shouldn’t be on this list if you’re excluding people who spoke their native language in an interview?
He may not have learned it from birth; I don't know. Hence, I think it might still count; I know "native" speakers who don't bother learning the language that is often spoken in their home or by relatives, et al.
@@asaabrahamagulnik574 He’s said he speaks french because he always used to spend his summers growing up in his dad’s hometown and his dad would speak to him and his sister in French so I would say he counts as a native speaker ?
I think it does count as native. Let's take Jennifer López and Marc Anthony's children as an example, JLo was born in the US and she barely speaks Spanish but Marc speaks Spanish, if their children were to speak Spanish, nobody would be surprised because those children are "Latinos" The thing here is that French is glamorized and Spanish speakers, especially Latinos, tend to be diminished or taken from granted
As a European....no we are not! Apart from our nativel languages, our level of English ist pretty good, but after that it's simply not true, that the third language we learn in school is taught anywhere near B2+. If I was too stupid to understand the sarcasm in your comment, I apologize!

Connie Nielsen is a polyglot who speaks 8 languages: Danish, English, French, Italian, German, Norwegian, Swedish and Spanish. She and Viggo should be on this list.
Sandra's mother was a German Opera singer (if I remember correctly) and her father an American working in Germany/Austria. The clip mentions that she lived equal amounts in Germany, Austria and the US.
Mariska Hargitay is not on this list and that’s a damn shame. Because she speaks like 5 languages fluently. Her dad was Hungarian, so she learned English and Hungarian simultaneously. Then learned Spanish, French, And Italian as a teenager. She’s spoken all of them on SVU.
Thank you. The Sandra Bullock origin is well known here in Germany. But you have forgotten one of the greatest of all time. Sir Peter Ustinov. Okay, he has unfortunately passed away so long ago. But I would like to remind everybody here of him. He learned a total of eight languages, six of which he spoke almost fluently. He spoke English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Russian fluently, as well as some Turkish and modern Greek. He was proficient in accents and dialects in all his languages. Ustinov provided his own German and French dubbing for some of his roles. R.i.P. Sir Peter Alexander Ustinov (born as Peter Alexander Freiherr von Ustinov)
Wow!!! How on earth could they have missed the #1 Celeb that speaks other languages flawlessly??? Vigo Mortenson He can speak 7 other languages perfectly
@Cloud Citizen I would feel exactly the opposite. I hardly know any other country in Europe that has such complexes because of its own accent. Most Germans are extremely critical of their own compatriots when it comes to speaking correct English.
From the point of view of a native speaker, Sandra speaks very rudimentary German. It's very likeable because she mixes a cute accent from her childhood region into her American accent. But vocabulary and grammar are very basic.
@Cloud Citizen what bs are you stating here? obviously, you just want to rant without having a clue. Germans are known for trying to pronounce foreign words and names exactly as they are pronounced in their respective languages. you are more than often snobbed by your german compatriots when you don't pronounce foreign words correctly, as for them it's a sign of lacking education and even lacking respect for foreign cultures. the french, on the other hand, don't give a shit. tom onks = tom hanks, for example.
Tom Hiddleston was not speaking modern Greek, he was reading classical Greek, specifically Elektra by Euripides as it seems - which is just as amazing, well done!!
@@cindytartt4048 No, that’s not harder than modern Greek; if it is written anyone knowing the Greek alphabet for modern Greek can read an Ancient Greek text as well.
Tom hiddleston studied ancient Greek in Cambridge, actually haw two degrees in ancient Greek. He read that so to prove his skills. By the way,as Greek and as a philologist i assure you it's not easy to learn Greek, ancient or modern, even more when you study it
He did. He used the erasmian accent, the one that foreigners use when reading ancient Greek. They pronounce vowels as the ancients did. We, modern Greeks don't do that anymore, our language has evolved and we read ancient texts like modern Greek.
They should have had Christopher Lee on this list. He gave interviews in Spanish, French, German, Italian and others. (and I think he was fluent in Tolkienian Elvish and Dwarfish)
I speak a little French, but I could never even imagine doing an interview like some of these people. If you learned to fluently speak another language, then respect!
I you live in Europe, you learn one or two other languages in school. Im swedish and speak english (yeah - that could be a second language!), danish, german. That's four, nothing to brag about here. A lot of my friends can speak 2-3-4 languages.
@@NotMeNow848 In America, the two primary languages that people are encouraged to learn are Spanish (because we have a lot of Hispanic immigrants) and French(because it’s not too far from english, and I think also because there are a lot of people in Canada who speak French). However, most of us will never HAVE TO speak in any language outside of English, so we typically end up regressing back to knowing very little.
@@evamohlin1693 bunch of similar Germanic and European languages... it would be something if these languages were Arabic, Chinese and Japanese (or Turkish for that matter) as these languages have distinct features like right-to-left reading and connected letters, tones, and subject object verb structure.
To learn a language Conway isn’t just about what you learn in class. You have to find different ways and different media to use all day long at home. And practice talking to yourself in the language and talking to other people in your spare time. You have to immerse yourself in the language, not just learn it. I really believe that’s the difference between those who really learn a language, and those who just learn a little bit of it.
I'm fluent in written and spoken Spanish, Italian, and English. Very good in spoken Portuguese, and good enough to sustain a conversation and sing songs in French. But I always tell people that once you speak one of the Latin languages, it is easy to learn and speak all Latin-derived languages. Same root, and similar wording. The only thing that changes is the pronunciation. I find it more meritable when you know how to speak Russian, Chinese, Slavic languages, etc, when your native tongue is Spanish for example since they have a completely different grammatical structure.
Viggo Mortensen is fluent in Spanish, Danish, and can speak French, Russian, and Italian to some degree. He also writes poetry in several languages. He belongs on this list!
It always amazes me how impressed native English speakers are by someone who speaks another language than their mother language fluently. I feel like everyone else is ahead of you in that regard lmao 😂
Because many native English speakers have no reason to learn another language outside of their own desire or if they have a parent who speaks that language. Whereas people who grow up in non-english speaking countries are forced to learn English if they want to be able to interact with people from other countries because it's the most universally dominant language around the world.
@@shona5512 let's be honest: no one in non english countries would be forced to learn a second language, because their language isn't "universally dominant". You could live a perfect life without learning other languages. However, learning other languages is a thing of cultural appreciation and exchange. That's why in many european countries pupils learn english as their second language PLUS a third language of their choice. The British used to learn Frensh or German for example, even though their mother tongue is "universally dominant".
@@RondaRandom Most of us in English speaking countries are also taught second or third languages whilst we're at school, however, once we've completed the mandatory years, a lot of us have no reason to continue with it unless it's something that an individual has an actual interest in. I personally was taught, French, Spanish and Irish in school, however I'm only bi lingual with Irish & English. I simply had no need nor desire to learn other languages. Whereas when a person from a non English speaking country, takes mandatory lessons in English, they tend to continue with learning the language outside of the mandatory years, as it does make it easier to communicate with people from other countries without having to invest time in learning that specific language.
Yes it's more amazing when an English speaker learns a foreign language because in general, they don't have to. Within the Western world most business can be done in English. And now with translation apps on phones, foreign languages are going to be even more rare in developed countries.
this list is cool but let’s also shine light on how actors who aren’t from the english-speaking world giving interviews in perfect english are also very impressive
There are tonnes of videos of non-native English speakers speaking decent English. Given the obnoxious attitudes of non-native English speakers towards native English speakers it's nice to see a video "shinning a light" on English speakers speaking different languages for a change...

There is no language called African and no specific African accent but if you meant a very tonal accent, it could be due to speaking in Swahili a lot. Luo on the other hand has a very different accent that's not what you'd otherwise describe as a "typical" African accent
NOVAK ĐOKOVIĆ. Apart from his native language, Serbian, Novak learned English, German, and Italian as a child, languages in which he excels and uses daily, especially German and Italian. He can also speak Spanish and Portuguese with some fluency and is very proficient in French, as demonstrated each year at Roland Garros. In addition to these, he has some knowledge of Japanese, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese. Simply impressive.
We need a Part 2 video including Viggo Mortensen, Anya Taylor-Joy, Natalie Portman, Diane Kruger, Mila Kunis, Ben Affleck who are absolutely amazing and fluent in other languages.
Sandra Bulloks German is PERFECT. I can even tell she has got a little Nuremberg accent. She really sounds like a person that lives here in Germany. So fascinating!
If you go to any tourist attraction in the Netherlands or Belgium, the tour guides will ask for a show of hands to see which language the tourists speak. And they will talk to all of them in their own language. it's incredible to hear them flipping effortlessly between Flemish, German, French, English and Spanish!
I saw this happen at the Rembrandthuis in Amsterdam! If I recall correctly, our group of visitors was made up of English, Dutch, French, Spanish and Russian speakers, so the guide spoke in all of these languages. When she asked me where I was from and I answered "Malaysia", she looked slightly concerned but was reassured when I said that I'd be fine with English 😊
When I went to Europe, we had a guide who asked what languages we all spoke. She effortlessly spoke to the group in several different languages. Very amazing!
We are at the heart of Europe so our countries are used to tourism but also to political or economical world interests. Despite Trump calling Belgium a sh°thole, there is more culture in our little pissing boy (look up the Manneken Pis, I'm not even joking XD) than in all his life. So languages are considered a must in our culture and most work places. You have Antwerpen who's the biggest market for diamond dealings in the world (legally at least), Brussels, capital of Europe and its Parliament, the best beers and the biggest concentration of Castles in the world. As small countries allied for ages (Netherlands, Luxemburg, Belgium), our language culture is quite similar because we're gateways to all of Europe. From Belgium you'll get trains to England, France, Germany, Italy... most East European countries and up to Russia. So languages are a must anywhere.
As we where the battlefield of europe for many centuries, we Flemish had to adept constantly and had to learn more languages. I have learned 4 in high school (Dutch, French, English and German). It is not that abnormal for us. We are never impressed if a celebrity speak more then one language.
How does Bradley Cooper make #1 just by being bilingual. That was one of the least impressive ones in my opinion. Hiddleston knowing like 10 languages is nuts!
@ally to be fair with him, he makes all his interviews in french, and understands very well the journalists. But he makes a lot of mistakes and it s a joke to see him that high in this list.actually many people in this list are not that talented ….when you travel all the time, when you can afford to spend a lot of time in a country you love, that you pay awsome teachers, it s much easier, no offense. Also don t forget it s much easier to learn a another language when your native language belongs to the same family. Jodie foster is fluent, quite a lot of british actors are also very good.Emma thompson speaks very good french, kristina scott Thomas is almost fluent.
@@nicolasmauger1428 Jodie foster is impressive. I've listened to her quite a few times - her prononciation is immaculate! Bradley Cooper wouldn't rank number ten. German actress Diane Kruger speaks better french than Bradly cooper.
"We're excluding interactions that took place in the artist's native language." If they grew up in a household speaking the language, that's a native language. 🙄 Doesn't matter what country it was in.
That's true, but I still have respect for people who grow up here in America and speak another language. English is so dominant that it's hard to learn another language even at home.
No. A native is someone born and raised in a particular country. Their native language is the language spoken in that country. It is the language they will experience the most in all areas of their life. If a parent speaks another language, it is still not their native language. Perhaps you need to work on your English comprehension skills!
Fun fact- all of the Jonas Brothers are somewhat conversational in ASL. Their mother is an ASL teacher. There are videos of the Jonas Brothers (sorta…) conversing with one another in ASL onstage. Having said that, the majority of hearing ASL teachers don’t have as good of a grasp on ASL as they think they do. There’s so much to deaf culture. So, it’s best to have a deaf ASL teacher. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Denise Jonas is great.
I concur on Deaf versus hearing ASL instructors. When I was learning ASL, I had both deaf and hearing instructors. The deaf instructors were much better (hearing instructors were good, but Deaf instructors were better). All through the program, we were encouraged to get Deaf instructors whenever possible. ASL is my fifth language, but I use it more than any other language, except for my native English. (And for anyone who's interested, the switch between small "d" deaf and capital "D" deaf is to differentiate a medical condition/disability ("deaf") versus the culture ("Deaf").)
Judge the signer not their hearing level. Sadly many Deaf children learn to sign from hearing teachers are not fluent in ASL. Often the results is Deaf adults who sign a mix of ASL and signed Eglish. Many Deaf people don't have a chance to study their own language! There are a number of hearing people who sign ASL very well.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is beautiful, charismatic, and an underrated actor. He has a niche for slaying roles based on true events. He really immerses himself into his character no matter the director. His French is a delight to hear even though it's not perfect. Also, #1 is someone who speaks a single language? BIASED! 🤨
Probably has more than a grasp about norwegian and swedish. Written danish and norwegian are more or less the same. Quite similar to swedish as well. Pronunication is the different though. Impressive anyhow.
If the criteria was that celebs using their native tongue weren't included, then none of the people raised bilingual (like Sandra Bullock or Timothée Chalamet) should've been on the list since both languages are native to them.
Agreed that their inclusion in this particular list is questionable, however in both of these cases although they were exposed the other languages early, English is their dominant language. In comparison, they have excluded stars whose dominant language was one other than English.
Johnny Cash once during a performance on Danish Tv, spoke Danish for quite a while. Me being Danish, Danish being very difficult in pronunciation and grammar. I was shocked by his determination and having practised so many sentences and those so hard, I understood everything.
@@jj-if6it I dont know. But I think he just was a very hard worker and prepared extremely well before the tour, out of respect for his audience. (Even though it was going far far above and beyond. It could have been a lot easier and been shown globally, if it was all in English. It shocked everyone) It was clear after he'd spoken Danish, that he didnt understand the host at all, when he then asked a Question in Danish.. But Johnny expressed himself very well, when he made his statements before, after and in between numbers.. So I think he prepared the messages he wanted to give the audience, and studied hard for a long time, to memorize the words and pronunciation.
Sandra Bullock's German is really good. Far from perfect, mind, but leagues better than most foreigners who speak acceptable German (for a foreigner). She's on the level where she's actually not mangling the language. And she actually has a regional accent, Franconian.
My high school German teacher was from Czechoslovakia. He was expert in several Slavic languages as well as German. The Spanish teacher was expert in several Romance languages. Getting us students to the level of conversation fluency didn't seem to be the goal of the language curricula in those days, unfortunately.
Aren't Timothée & Sandra in the same category as Charlize? It is their native language from one parent, and both lived in France and Germany respectively for significant periods of time in their lives. Maybe we should compliment Charlize on her English instead LOL. Impressed with Tom Hiddleston being able to speak and read Greek, so much harder when the alphabet is not Romance/Germanic based.

English, Italian, French, Spanish and German
I'm a native speaker of Spanish, I speak English (obvsly) and French.
As a German I can Attest that Sandra’s German is flawless and she even has a dialect that’s typical for the Region her relatives live.
Was surprised too. Impressive good german, only a very little accent.
The Austrian/Bavarian dialect is distinct.
Naaaa.... she rehearsed that speech once and again, she admitted that.
Viggo Mortensen speaks 7 languages!! He should have definitely been on this list!

Who knows.

I thought the SAME THING!
Why wouldn’t Charlize Theron make the list? I didn’t know she spoke Afrikaans.
Mila Kunis defending Timberlake while speaking Ukrainian is a classic clip that should have been included too!
Right? Same with Sandra Bullock having German parents?
The rules to some of their videos seem extremely arbitrary.
@@calhounqueen5259 and literally growing up between Germany, Austria and the US!
I think it depends on how bilingualism is or can be classified. Even if you learn two languages in tandem, one will always dominate the other. Usually, where/how you live will determine your "native" language. Though it is a gray area, with natural bilingualism.
You wrote my thoughts!
Viggo Mortensen!! Absolutely should be No. 1. He doesn't do just interviews in multiple languages, he does movies
Viggo could make most of the top 10 all by himself, in 9 different languages.

Our king Viggo is Argentinian!! 🇦🇷🇦🇷

But if timothée is half french and has french citizenship, surely that counts as a native language since he is bilingual because of his french father? so surely he shouldn’t be on this list if you’re excluding people who spoke their native language in an interview?
you're absolutely right :)

Let's take Jennifer López and Marc Anthony's children as an example, JLo was born in the US and she barely speaks Spanish but Marc speaks Spanish, if their children were to speak Spanish, nobody would be surprised because those children are "Latinos"
The thing here is that French is glamorized and Spanish speakers, especially Latinos, tend to be diminished or taken from granted
You could have included Christoph Waltz. He speaks German, French, and English so flawlessly that he even played roles speaking those languages.
He's Austrian, so the fact that he speaks fluent German should come as no surprise.
U really shouldn't include any European actors, because we all speak at least 3 languages fluently, usually more

Sandra Bullock speaks 97 % perfect german with a cute frankish accent
I'm soooo going to marry her, now even more 🤓.
Where'd you figured out that percentage? Lol

He did. He used the erasmian accent, the one that foreigners use when reading ancient Greek. They pronounce vowels as the ancients did. We, modern Greeks don't do that anymore, our language has evolved and we read ancient texts like modern Greek.

Very true lol

Maybe we should compliment Charlize on her English instead LOL. Impressed with Tom Hiddleston being able to speak and read Greek, so much harder when the alphabet is not Romance/Germanic based.
Timothée and Sandra were both born and raised in the USA.
Gwyneth Paltrow sounded so natural. And the tone was different from her english voice. Very interesting :)
She’s an actress that’s why. She plays a part.
Wow Sandras German is absolut großartig
Wahnsinn wie gut sie diese Sprache spricht 😂
Its great to hear her speaking German she's doing spectacular
Gwyneth Paltrow's Spanish is flawless. Her accent is also very impressive.
She sounds like she has an Spaniard accent to me.
As a Spanish native speaker, I can say she has a really good Spanish accent. I saw her on a Spanish show some years ago and I was impressed by how good her Spanish was.
Wow!!! How on earth could they have missed the #1 Celeb that speaks other languages flawlessly???
Vigo Mortenson
He can speak 7 other languages perfectly
I know, her French is debatable but Spanish is great.
@@marcossperezzy6281her French is not perfect but it is still pretty good! (I’m French.)
Sandra Bullock is truly amazing at whatever she does.
Will Smith said in Spanish, "You keep my wife's name out your mouth!"
😅😅
My dad was born in Athens, Greece and spoke 5 languages: Greek, Russian, Italian, German, and English. I was born in the USA and know 3 languages: English, Spanish, and Sign Language. ; )
That's impressive
Well done. On the other hand, my parents were Czech & I forgot it… eternal shame of the mind. My brother, however, is fluent.

FYI: When teenager, Gwyneth Paltrow spent a sumer in Spain, in Talavera de la Reina, as an exchange student. Years later, when she became famous, she wa named Hija Adoptiva (Adoptive Daughter) of the city. It's quite curious because when famous Americans learn Spanish, they usually learn Latinamerican Spanish, not European Spanish, as she did. And let me tell you that she speaks it greatly. Besides, it's quite funny how she ended going to Talavera de la Reina, which deffinetly is not one of the most relevant cities of Spain. I don't know... Is like if I ended learning English by going to the weirdest least imaginable placeof the US.
It's like how folks learn European French in North America rather than Quebec French, as if it's more cultured. I learned European Spanish and boy did I have a lot to unlearn and relearn when I moved to Mexico!
@@raecrothers1420 Exactly, European versions of languages seem to be more appreciated culturally. In Europe, for instance, we too are taught British English rather than American. But, boy, the difference between European and American Spanish is like water and oil.
@@jo_jo_jo I made more progress through my Spanish fluency with three months living in Spain than in the year I'd just spent living in Mexico because I was surrounded by the accent I had studied and thus could better understand and be understood. I moved to Mexico permanently after that, so I'm fluent now in Yucatecan Spanish, which is its own universe, with archaic Spanish and Maya words thrown in that the rest of Mexico doesn't use. I think my Spanish is always going to be a bit of a salad!
@@raecrothers1420 My French ex-husband astounded a native Quebecois speaker when he told her that her language was subtitled in France. Apparently it still is, just the use of primarily slang and informal words and terms very different.
@@kooltom4 European French uses a TON of English while proper Quebec French eschews as many "anglicisms" as possible.
I read recently that it was found that our personalities change when we speak another language. It's true. You can see it in these clips as well.
The most impressive actor I have ever seen is Viggo Mortensen; I met him at LAX and he was having conversations in French, Italian, German and Spanish with multiple people. I speak these 4 languages and I have a slight accent, but Mortenson was seamless is his dialogue.
Man, would have paid good money to be in your shoes there. That would be a dream come true.
The real meat is in the comments. Thank you for this! What a moment it must have been.
Shakira should be at least #2. She writes songs in 4 different languages herself also!!
Also, I think it's weird that they didn't count English for her since it isn't her native tongue either.
Love Shakira Waka-Waka
her italian is basic, she probably understand a lot due to similarities with spanish, but she can't speak it fluently
They made a list before this one and she was on it
@@Earth2LalaLand Because don't you know it's not impressive for a latino/a person to learn English but when an American can say a few words in Spanish it's incredible
I have some serious respect for multilingual speakers, its so incredibly difficult and yet they do it anyway.
My great grandpa immigrated from the Philippines, he could speak Tagalog, Filipino, and Spanish. Upon working as a laborer he learned to speak Mandarin and English. Its always fascinated me
Timothée Chalamet is the Cultured Softboi we love to watch. I love listening to him speaking in French. As someone who knows the language and teaches it, it’s nice to see it ♥️
Yes^^
A few years ago, he was tormenting and insulting his classmates and his neighbors. I don't think he's a real "cultured softboi", but he seems to be playing the part now. :(
But isn't he french? So it's normal he speaks the language.
He counts because he is from the USA. Not France.
@@EllieBellie_111 Apparently making up lies on internet is so easy and no consequences!
I’m not a native German but I’m impressed by the level of Sandra in German language. I speak Arabic, Maltese, English, French, Italian, Japanese and German.
My first language was German, then English, then Hungarian. I rarely meet people here in the US who speak Hungarian, but it's always exciting when I meet someone who does!
Hungarian is considered to be one of the more difficult languages to learn. It's very unique and doesn't share a lot in common with other languages.
Same, but the other way round... My first language was Hungarian, then English, then German... 😄
My family did a few generations ago...my grandma on my mom's side was born there but didn't pass it down. Heard it was difficult.
Hi darling😍 you good?
Gratulálok!
Shakira is technically English, Portuguese, and French. Her native is Spanish.
Jewish.
She’s Colombian and Lebanese
And Arabic. Quite fluent in Arabic.
Colombian Spanish is different
Hi darling😍 you good?
How could you forget Natalie Portman who knows English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Hebrew, and German?
I think Peter Ustinov has to be number one. He spoke 8 Languages with different dialects. In german TV he decribed in fluent german how he learned the vocabulary of these languages. He connected the words with knowledge of history, culture, technology.
When I was living in Switzerland, Jodie Foster was interviewed on the French language TV & my colleagues were astounded at how well she spoke.
Think she did the French Baccalaureate in high school.
Her French is very very good, yes
She went to a French speaking and writing immersion school.
Besides going to a French school in CA, she has relatives in France. Her French is really good.
@@deborahheindel6203 Not an immersion school, she went to the Lycee Internationale de Los Angeles, a school funded by the French govt. who imports teachers from France and its curriculum, for 12 years.
I actually went to the exact same type of school in a different city.
The interesting thing is that Sandra Bullock even speaks with a Franconian dialect, the area where she grew up. That is amazing. Not like the German one would learn at school.
Similar to someone from Alabama not sounding the same as a New Yorker ... Even though they're both 'American'. Good 👂 on the tone of her voice.
My mother was Prussian, from a region that no longer exists as the Russians invaded and took it (Kaliningrad Oblast). Her dialect was very soft, but used words similar to Yiddish, particularly the slang words. It's a shame that it's pretty much died out.
So ein schmarrn!
Tolkien spoke 19 languages, 4 of which he created himself 🙏🏽💯
Just when I thought I couldn't love Sandra Bullock more, Sie geht und beginnt, die alte Sprache des Vaterlandes zu sprechen
Jodie Foster is perfectly fluent in French and dubs her own movies. Her French is flawless.
Some people are fortunate to have that skill of multiple languages.
Chris Hemsworth can speak Indonesian, he spoke Indonesian in an interview with an Indonesian host and surprised chris evan lol
There's bahasa Malay (Malaysia) and bahasa Indonesia's

I suppose each country want to teach there students the languages they will most likely encounter. As indonesia is near Australia. France is near UK. And you got Mexico next to USA. I get Sandra Bullock. Even though she grew up with German it is frightening to speak when you are self-conscious about it. I was in Ireland for 9 years and didn't speak German for 7 years (first 2 years I worked with customers in Germany). When I got back to Austria it took me almost 3 years to feel confident in my German again, I had a real culture-shock. People started talking English with me cause they thought I can-t speak German.

Will Smith: "slaps" in Spanish
You miss Ricky Martin. He speaks 5 languages. When he sang in the world cup in France, most of the media from around the world where happy to interview him.
The only ones that should have been on this list are the ones that learnt the language on their own. The ones that have a parent that speaks a different language than English, should be on a different list. It's 10000% harder learning a language if you are not constantly expose to it.
I was thinking that too. Kind of an unfair advantage, when you have to learn because of a parent
So, you've included people who were raised bi-lingual and that's not the same as a native language??? I think they would disagree. Also, there are several who speak more than one or two languages - Viggo Mortenson comes to mind immediately - he speaks 4 or 5. Someone else mentioned Natalie Portman. But, they didn't make your list? The criteria for you list seems somewhat arbitrary - especially as Tom Hiddleston, who speaks several languages (including ancient Greek, ffs) ranks behind Bradley Cooper, who speaks one.
Agreed! Being raised bilingual means, in my opinion, having two native tungs
Yes!
Not to mention all actors who have english as a second language and still works in Hollywood.

It's not a superpower because it's very common not just in your country. Even in Philippines, people speak more than 3 languages, aside from English and Spanish. It's nothing to brag about coz it's common.
