Aoe2: Is It Possible to Win the Genghis Khan Campaign Without Killing Enemy Units?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 июл 2024
- The nomadic tribes of the Asian steppes spent centuries entangled in their own petty feuds until united under Genghis Khan. Within years, a highly disciplined army purs out of Mongolia to embark on a campaign of world conquest. But how can a tribe of horse archers possibly overcome the military might of Persian and Easern Europe, let alone the technologically advanced empires in China... without killing even a single enemy unit?

> Sinks a ship because the enemies on board must die
It's not his fault if they can't swim
@@ruthswann88 yeah, he even considerate enough to sunk the ships near the shore
the biggest genocide of the feudal age: 5 casualities
😅😅
Only one.
"We send some villagers to Fatslob up this passageway."
nice
"The governors of outlying cities were executed by pouring molten silver into their eyes and throats. They smiled and laughed at all the yummy-yummy silver in their tummy."
"Seperate mountains were made of the skulls of men, women, children, horses, dogs and cats. They were already deceased, and we only exhumed their bones for our ossuary."
There. Definitive edition proof that the Mongol conquest of the Kwharazmid empire was an entirely peaceful and consensual affair.
cdcdrr To be fair the game makers went out of their way to fabricate massacres or to attribute separate events to Chinggis/Ghengis
@@turmunhkganba1705 when I searched these, couldn't find anything about "mountains of skulls" or "molten metal poured into governors throats as a method of execution". Are these events invented by the game makers to exacerbate the real brutality of Mongols conquests, I assume?
@@renzoraschioni3886 Or maybe the chronicler has a bloodthirsty streak?
@@renzoraschioni3886 Genghis' army did make piles of skulls at the sack of Nishapur (part of kingdom of Khwarezm along with Samarqand), after Genghis' son-in-law was killed by the Nishapurans.
@@renzoraschioni3886 Real mongols would probably take these lies and roll with them. Exacerbated brutality = more of those willing to surrender. And you don't even need to work to plant these!
The most bloodthirsty brutal conquer in history
As a pacifist checks out
Pouring molten silver into their eyes and throats ... pacifist-style.
And interesting thing about the mongol conquests was the despite their brutality being known, most people still chose to fight. Victory or death never surrender.
@@baltulielkungsgunarsmiezis9714 Surrender probably meant death regardless, so maybe there wasn't much of a choice anyway.
@@Carpatouille Surrender of on the battlefield was not an option, but when the mongols sent a messanger asking you to submit or die you could surrender pay your taxes and no war would take place.
@@baltulielkungsgunarsmiezis9714 I know it was an option for the Huns but I don't know if it was possible with the mongols under Genghis Khan seeing how they wanted to conquer the world
This guy is a legend. Not only did he do these missions without killing anybody, he did this in hard difficulty as well.
Partha Eryans you should check out the Barbarossa campaign as well. It is very impressive.
@@generalhyde007 I did those were impressive. He's acting like the into China mission was easy for him but only a few can go through those grinds.
Except he did kill people. Kushluk or the 5 horsemen.
Wouldn't watch if it was not hard difficulty - that's part of the challenge!
@@torinjones3221 But what if we consider Kushluk a nobody?
Should have just used I r winner. 7 year old me was a beast pacifist
*B l a c k D e a t h*
@@kemosonicfan123lbp Considering that the cross-continental empire that Genghis Khan started proved instrumental in the rapid spread of the Black Plague, that seems rather appropriate.
Where i used black death as a youngling sooo
Micah Bush really? How does that work?
@@brendanhart517 The Mongol Empire brought political unity and stability to the Silk Road region, making cross-continental trade safer and easier. As a result, when the Black Plague developed somewhere in Central or East Asia, it was easily transmitted along the Silk Road in a relatively short span of time.
Hungarians: We have destroyed the bridge.
Mongol Pacifists: Congratulations, you've played yourselves.
We need Spirit of the law to calculate the ressources trade between a Kushluk and 5 cav archers now
Hm, heroes cannot be trained though... does that count as 0 resources? Or as infinite because a hero can never be replaced? Or do we have to look at his stats to try and figure out how much he is worth in cav archer equivalents? Gosh, you are correct, we do need a SotL video :D
If we're going to proceed in spirit of law style, we must first take the derivative of the hero and find the break-even point for 40 of them in the imperial age.
"lets conquer the world with pasifism" said definitely not genghis khan.
- ghandi khan
The pen is stronger than the sword
@@catrielmarignaclionti4518 nuke ghandi?

"The western Powers are weak from suffering their 0 losses in the crusades." I love the alternative history you are creating here and I wish it were in book form
Aaaah. Correct use of the original AoE Genghis intro.
Nice.
Beware the Kara-Khitai. They are without honor.
@@T-West how do you load campaign scenarios in the editor

7 Keen observation! 11
Ohh the ram's splash damage. Wow nice observation
Oh, the mongols, known for have never killed nobody.
I can't tell if it's funny because it's true, or funny because it's not true.
Yeah, yeah beating "Into China" is cool and all, but you're telling me the backgrounds for the little tiny building icons were cut from the Windows XP desktop background??!
What better way to recycle "obsolete" assets?
bro I really miss the old cutscenes of this campaign
-rest in peace Rick May
Yeah I think thats the only bad thing from the Definitive Edition. The art style is not bad but the cutscenes are very lame in my opinion.
I miss that Joan the Arc watching France after her death in the final mission and Genghis Khan darkest figure in the intro of the campaign.
An ending that truly fit the title of the last campaign: Pax Mongolica.
9:42
The Fatslob reference is a win in my heart.
Building Icons having the Windows XP background blew my mind.
same. you can also see some behind the gate icon. Bliss is a meme.
Jin: "What do a people who sleep in tents know of the word 'culture"
Big talk for people who only a few decades or so before this time slept in tents and invaded from the north to topple the Song Dynasty. XD
They were actually asking this question not to be derisive, but rather to be introspective and humble about their own self-growth. Just as we had sought to conquer them with pacifism, they had sought to enlighten us with self-reflection!
@@ScottyShaw Must be it.
Geographically the editors effectively placed the Tangut / Hsi Hsia as the Jin, the Songs as Hsi Hsia (or Dali), while the Jin was actually the Song because of the river.
The Jin also conquered the Song almost a century before being treated similarly by the Mongols
@@patrickovsiu No, the geography of the map is largely correct. The Great Wall runs east-west, so the thick river you cross to attack the Jin is actually the north-south stretch of the Yellow River, which turns eastward when it intersects with the Wei River, represented by the thin river separating the Song from the Hsi Hsia and the Tanguts. This puts the Jin to the east in the Shanxi/Hebei area, the Hsi Hsia to the west in northern Shaanxi, the Tanguts to the west in the Ningxia area, and the Song to the south in southern Shaanxi.
EDIT: The Jin didn't conquer the Song, just the northern half in 1125. The Song Dynasty continued on for another 152 years, lasting until Kublai Khan's final victory in 1279. The Jin Dynasty fell to Ogedei Khan's forces in 1234.
@@ScottyShaw Still that means the Yangtze was omitted which was a significant inaccuracy.
On a side note, the Yuan believed itself taking the Mandate of Heaven from Jin instead of Song. Many also see the Song between 1127 and 1234 a vassal of Jin. So it could be argued that the Jin conquered the Song, just that it did not annihilate the state like the Yuan did.
The throat singing is a nice touch.
The "civilization themes" from DE are really useful :)
OHHHHHHHHHH MAAAAAAAAAA YEEEEEEEEEEEEE MAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Killing one leader instead of killing 5 'innocent' soldiers seems the moral choice to me, anyway probs for the dedication to the goals of pacifism!
Especially since the village has not much to do with the feud between Genghis and Kushluk AND the fact that converting Kushluk alone i not enough, he has to be deleted so the sacrifice of the five brave soldiers would have been for nothing in the end.
Well...He killed Kushluk for vengence,Kuchluk is a real bad guy. That 5 soldiers are real innocent.
AI: Blows up the bridge.
T-West: "I'm not trapped in here with you, *you'r* the one trapped in here with me!"
Well, La Hire, when is killed in the cleansing of the Loire is only considered wounded(also Panos Nautikos in Bari). So that one kill might not be a kill
Seriously, I didn't know that the background of building icons were from the Windows XP Background...
He has delivered, i have been waiting!
The champions are disguised as the drivers! 😂
T-West you are officially the first RUclipsr ever to like my comment ... thank you for everything ❤️
9:40 "Send dsome villagers to Fatslob this passagageway." I see that you're a man of culture.
I really miss Rick May.
He had such a distinctive voice.
The most amazing part of this is the background of the DE for the buildings
This man deserves way more subs, he’s the hero we need and don’t deserve
I think the main reason you gained so many subscribers, including me, might be fact as to the quality of your videos are really high quality, I think we just really appreciate all the effort you put in

Actually I think it is the best I have seen so far, since it happens to be at such a narrow and hard to find place.
If you keep up this quality, you'll reach Spirit/T90 levels soon enough. The balloon of subs has is growing and you'll explode in sub numbers soon
Awesome series! It's really joy to watch. The editing, narrating is so well put together. I love how you add background info about the game and its mechanics. I am really looking forward to future episodes!

You're just amazing man, honestly what a great job! I love watching this series and all your videos because they are INCREDIBLE!! I really think u deserve a ton more subscribers but I'm sure that you will get them all! Keep up the great work and best wishes from Colombia!
Your style of passive peaceful comentery is perfect for such a way of playing.
Like just with the Tournament at the beginning of El cid Campaign, it's gonna be hard, lol
Man I just played that scenario today. In DE
Ran off without killing the champ.
King Sancho got angry, sent those conquistadors. I tried running towards the NW corner, towards that monastery with 6 monks. Turns out, the monks vanish if I become Sancho's enemy.
Bam. No EL CID. More importantly, no objectives either. But the game went on somehow without any objectives
You can just leave the tournament and became an enemy of a king - but I don't know the trigger for victory in this case XD
@@szymonkoruba2875 I don't think that's possible; as I recall, Sancho's troops will hunt you down and kill you. (Besides, it's probably the guilt from slaying Sancho's champion and knight that drives El Cid to pacifism.)
Possible way around it: it is a tournament and not a real fight so nobody is supposed to die. Either the opponents are just wounded (do I hear La Hire here?) or they died accidentally which did happen and does not really make you less of a pacifist.
@@f.c.laukhard3623 They count as kills in the end screen ;)
