I reached the 100 sale milestone a month ago. Made Star Seller this month, and I'm at 124 sales at the moment. Its been a journey and I'm looking forward to what the future holds for my shop and brand.
@@dannyleira9371 I opened my Etsy shop back in September, and didn’t actually start making sells until November 2021. I hit 100 sells in March so it only took 5 months. Now I’m just looking to grow and scale profits while maintaining great quality and good customer service.
Loving your video girl!! Keep killing it. I started august 2020, have over 3,000 sales, it’s ebbed and flowed so much, that I’m working on amazon and my own website. I’m always wanting to improve my etsy since it’s a good third party platform so trying to balance it all 😅
Hey girl congrats that awesome! I will say master one platform before moving to the next, each platform has its own needs wants fears and goals and essentially each is different model of business in a sense. Do one, get a proof of concept, scale it as high as you can and then move to the next engine/sales channel
Thank you for this information! I opened my shop 2 months ago. I now have 22 sales as of today. I am hoping it will grow so I can reach my 100 sales goal! How long does is usually take to reach 100 sales?
Question, I use erank to find tags for my Etsy posts and I use everbee to see the tags products like mine use. But the tags that the big sellers of my products use are no where on erank. Am I using erank wrong to find tags or should I just copy the tags that they use even tho their tags seem kinda odd? Thanks for all the helpful videos Hannah.
So you want to pull the tags from your competition that are big sellers and you know they’re big sellers because if they rank on the first page that probably means that they are, so pull the tags from Everbee create a list of all the tags you’re interested in and then double check their search volume on E-rank and then make a higher level decision on your own whether or not they are actually a keyword product fit, so don’t use all the tags if they do not make sense for your products
Hi, Hannah. Do sellers use their Etsy accounts/listings to attract buyers to their online store? Is this a good or accepted strategy? If so, how? Where does a seller reference their website?
If you’re starting on Etsy for the first time I would keep all your traffic on Etsy and really hone into that cheap traffic there to fine tune your business before turning to driving traffic to your website
@@EcomHannah Thank you so much for responding!! I'm really getting from your videos that phasing the process effectively is important as opposed to trying anything and everything. Let's say that I've had it for 6 months and have sales on an upward climb. Do you have any videos that discuss marketing one's website to the Etsy browser or buyer?
I would say if you are profitable and going up you should start investing in etsy ads asa soon as possible this is going to be the cheapest form of traffic out there!
I’ve been loving your vids! I was doing kdp but now another lightbulb has went off and Im now going to make digital art and other downloadable goods for Etsy. Your videos have been so helpful! Thank you! I have everbee, do you recommend anything for specific Etsy keyword research?
Hi Hannah! I am a super creative person and have multiple ideas for starting a store. I could easily do printables because I'm good with design. But would it be best to be one subject in a printable ie. Wedding printables. For an entire store? Or all sorts of printables in one store ie. Wedding and housecleaning, shopping, planner etc?
Hi Hannah, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. I have been running ads with good results on a £20 x day budget so decided to double the budget to £40 and expected to see my sales increase but the opposite has happened, my sales have tanked. The only thing I have changed is doubling the ad spend. Any ideas? It has been a week now with less sales than with a lower budget?
Nooo it could just be that week, remember you are only paying when someone clicks on the ad, having a higher budget should never hurt you. Even though you make it higher it does not mean it will spend as well. I also try to get to max budget allowance for all my stores. You want to show etsy you are willing to spend the most out of all your competition.
AcTuALlY...lol I'm just clowning. I feel silly giving more advice on top of Hannah cuz she's awesome and I'm thrilled I recently found her on YT & I've already learn a lot from her. BUT...anyway, srsly, there is a thing called something like CTR I think (click thru ratio) where I know google measures it, but not sure about etsy (I'm guessing they do) where if you get a bunch of views of your ad and very few clicks, it tells the powers that be that your item isn't interesting to viewers based on the keywords you use. THEN there's another metric (I forget what it's called...it's been a LONG time since I made a living off SEO stuff in 2010, yet these metrics are still truly used, among other things) where they measure how many people clicked your ad vs how many made a purchase. If they're just clicking the ad cuz you have popular keywords, but it's not what they're looking for, you'll spend money on ads but not make sales. I suggest you research longtail keywords (look it up plz) so etsy shows ads that are most relevant to the viewers/shoppers so you're more likely to get a sale from your adspend. ;) hope that helps. Good luck & blessings! ~ Sera
Hey Hannah, I just started my store, and I currently live with my parents. They want to buy something from it but I heard somewhere that if someone living at the same address or has the same ip address buys from your store, it can get banned? I just want to check if this is correct or not?
Hey hannah i have a question if you don’t mind. How long do you have before you register your business with the state? Because it does cost a little bit of money. Also, shopify or etsy? Thank very much for the content
If money is tight you can run it through your social in the beginning until you are making some money and then just change it later once you get a proof of concept with your products for shopify or etsy
Great info. Thank you! I have a a question I sell products with inspirational messages I have them in English and Spanish. Should I have another store for the Spanish ones? Or just keep all in one? Thank you
what do you think of etsy sellers who do spammy type titles ? It seems to be a thing that is being promoted by influencers... However, as I start my new shop, I just read etsy store guidelines that suggests keeping titles simple, vs. being overly verbose and repetitive with stuff like 'mom gift' etc...
I’m not too sure what you mean by spamming title but you definitely want to keyword optimize it for the highest search volume keywords that are available to you

The algorithm has definitely been changing up but as far as spending versus not spending Etsy is always going to favor stores that spend more money on their platform or are at least willing to spend so I would say if it’s an option of spending or not it cannot hurt you to spend the most money in your niche
There must be something that you are missing whether it’s in your branding or your product there’s a lot of variables of why stores will not take off but I can assure you if you’re doing the proper market research and doing the proper branding and building a competitive product you should be making sales but again there’s many variables that can affect your success
