6:42 Clapton is wearing a Bape shirt? He isn't just a watch collector, he's hypebeast as well. Lmao
John Mayer is notorious for his expensive taste in watches, from Patek 5711A to IWC Big Pilots. It's hard to narrow it down to one watch
One of my favorite things about your channel (besides the content of course!) is how quickly you cut to the chase with regard to the subject matter. Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you man! Brevity is a way of life!
Hear Hear! I agree
Love all of those rockers, make second part!!
There are enough to do it. I will revisit this!
Led Zeppelin and watches happen to be two of my favorite things!
John Mayer has a stupid beautiful watch collection
Yeah, but everyone knows that.
how so?
ytube777 talking watches 2 of em
@@boymcfacto5832 plus that one dedicated to his Big Pilot collection.
Yes but he´s not really a "rock" star
We need to start worrying about what kind of world we are leaving for Keith Richards.
Hahaha the guy is still going
Was just about to bring that up. He's a huge IWC guy.
The Ventura is truly iconic, I heard Elvis also had a diamond bezel omega signed tiffany & co
Damn Teddy is even a Zeppelin fan, this guy just keeps getting better
I am still amazed of the idea of searching to see the watches that were worn by rockstars, politicians and different business man! I enjoyed these series! Keep up the good work!
Sting wearing a casio digital when interviewed, spoke a great deal about the man, respect.
Eric Clapton’s music was the sound of summer evenings while I was growing up, my dad loves Clapton and would play him like he was going out of style. Both my parents are huge fans, so much so that “their song” is Wonderful Tonight.
Watches + rock stars = perfection
I am glad you liked it, my friend!
Brian May the guitarist of Queen, the greatest band of all time(unarguably), always wears an SKX007.
Nahh Queen sucks just like the SKX ;)
Awesome band. Idk if you can say you can’t make an argument though lol.
Jp How dare you
Haha I'm sorry mr. Han, big time Queen fan here so do not worry!
New Queen film out soon looks good too 👍👍
Fantastic video! Other channels have done watches worn by celebrities etc but your list had people that I had not seen and was actually interested in knowing what they wore. Thanks again for your great content!
Thanks so much, Jared. Music is a big love of mine so I enjoyed putting this one together more than others.
I've been wanting someone to do this video. Thank you! Great channel
So happy to hear it man! Thanks for watching!
A brilliant idea for a list. I loved it. Very well thought out and edited. Thanks for the video.
Very enjoyable video, two of my favorite things: rock ‘n’ roll and watches! Do not forget The Police, the iconic band bridging the gap from 70s punk to 80s pop and Sting making calculator watches cool wearing his Casio J-100 in many a performance and photo shoot.
I wasn't aware Sting was an enthusiast. I think a part two is in order.
Teddy your content and detail therein is incredible. Your attention to details is phenomenal. Continue to deliver. It is very refreshing. Thank you
That was fun, keep going, Country, Blues, Jazz....
Rock n’ roll and watches... my two favourite things!
I love that you can appreciate the past!
By the way...YOU can take this concept in a myriad of different directions-rockers and their various fashion/tastes favs! You’re a gifted speaker with GREAT TASTE!
Great video idea. Just recently found your channel, but I'm really enjoying your content. Keep it coming!
Hi Mr. Baldassarre, Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph (reference 2499 / 100P) was launched in 1951. The reference 2400 was produced for almost 35 years, during which only 349 watches were made. What makes Clapton's watch even more rare is the fact that only two were made with a platinum case, possibly not even being sold. One is at the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva the other was in his possession, the legend says that a portuguese friend of him called Domingos Piedade (CEO of Mercedes AMG) crossed paths with him at JFK airport and knowing about is taste at watches asked him what was he was looking to, Eric told him he was looking for a Patek with the reference 2499/100P but it was impossible to get, Domingos told him he would help, and directly phoned to a Mr.Philippe Stern and magic happened. Best regards.
My wife is watching soaps .I have just watched this.Superb and cheers.Watch guys think a lot but zeppelin. Those guys were thinkers too and the rest is history.Great shots of rockers that think.? Pateks in the mix .I am an old rocker too BTW.What a treat cheers.
Thx for this video dude. Enjoyed it!
Those Patek Chornographs! Really to 🤤 for!
They are so stunning. Idk about 2-4 million dollars worth of stunning though 😂
Great video. Really enjoying your channel. Keep it up!
Great video Teddy. You are fast becoming one of my favourite RUclipsrs! Good stuff..
One thing I would add is that to call Clapton an 'avid' collector is a bit of an understatement! I think it's safe to say Clapton is a world-renowned collector who has owned some seriously desirable and rare pieces across a number of brands, primarily Tudor, Patek and, of course, Rolex.
20k subs just around the corner. Well deserved !
I am honored, Anton. In addition, I think you are right about me underselling Clapton as a watch lover a bit. Those that follow him know the guy loves his watches!
Do more like this! Celebrities / historical figures ...interesting for both the watch fanatic and non watch fanatic (like myself)!
The Elvis watch? More like the Men in Black watch!! I kid, I kid. Haha, I’ve loved the Ventura since i was a kid. Wish I could pull that thing off!
Haha. I don’t think I can pull it off either. Not quite my style. Thanks for watching again, Kat. I always appreciate it!
Wow what a great video loved it keep up the great work your friend from Tennessee
Your take on Zep is spot on. Except I'm the dad in my scenario and I have a son about your age.
The King has left the building! Awesome video!
Haha thank you, my friend.
Thanks Teddy, really enjoyed this vid!
Slash and breitling! Coooooool
Great bunch of musicians... john mayer has a great taste in watches as well...
Hey guys, let me know your favorite rocker and your favorite watch on the list. 18 thousand subscribers! I seriously can’t thank you guys enough!
Great idea for a video, you should definitely add more musicians to the list! Would be very interested in which choices jazz players made when it came to watches.
John mayer!
This is unique content man. Nice job. I love the ‘no BS with a touch of class’ aspect of your vids.
Subscribing a few months back was a good idea.
I really appreciate this man! So glad you subscribed. More great content to come!
I totally agree with the list! 😉 Awsome content there Ted.
Awesome Video!
Cool video! The Breitling really suits Slash now that I think about it. Lots of Pateks on the old folks.
Do one on john mayer
Hi Teddy, This is a great topic, the musicians we appreciate (rock 'n roll this time) and their favorite watch. Interesting that the Patek 2499 was owned by two on your list. I love love love that watch. Great video!
That watch is one of my favorite pieces as well. It is a stunner. Thanks for watching as always!
Did Teddy have a few cocktails before filming the Elvis bit ?? LOL LOVE IT , you go Teddy
When I saw the Guns N Roses Reunion show at Coachella 2016, Slash was wearing a 50th anniversary Rolex Submariner. The amount of bling that Axle and Slash have is incredible.
Nice video idea. Love the celebrity/watch connection
Thank you, Drew. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Cool review as always, Teddy. All the best.
My favourite rockstar is / was , is Freddie mercury , & my favourite watch has to be the breitling , they make a beautiful watch .
Lmao! Love your 'Imagine' joke! And yass!!! Happy your a Led Zeppelin fan!
Nice on Teddy, great video as per usual!
Thank you so much, Mark.
Your work with Archie Luxury was your best this beats it! Congrats
I am honored to hear that brother. Thanks for your continued support. It’s hard to top that interview.
"Without further ado", "Now let's get into it", etc
Cool video topic Teddy. I really enjoyed it. Maybe you could expand on it with some others in the future?
A nice selection of the "Who's who" of the rock & roll world. But my personal all time favorite?....Can't be anyone else but Elvis of course (Which is interesting as I was a teen when the Beatles hit the scene) But Elvis had the voice...and no one has ever come close to it! I think the classiest watch listed here was the Hamilton Ventura (?) that Elvis wore.......so stylish, so classy.....so Elvis!
I will admit, I have overlooked Elvis for a long time. His music is not quite my taste, but man, he sure did change the landscape for future artists.
Elvis -best pop singer in history!
@@TeddyBaldassarre :To me, you're a heretic as far as Elvis is concerned! Never heard someone comparable to the wide range of Elvis. But by the way, didn't the small swiss watchbrand Glycine sell one of its watches as the Elvis watch?
Mick Jagger can also be seen sporting a Seiko Turtle, the reason I finally picked one up!
Did not know that! SO cool!
Slash and his watch my favorite
I'm a guitarist and I loved this video. more please. How about Jazz or Jazz Icons? Miles, Coltrane, Bill Evans, BB KIng, etc PLEASE!!! 🎸🎷
I thought the John Paul Jones Rolex GMT was pretty cool. I like anyone who sticks with one watch for that long of a time and where it is mostly only one watch. Watch the Jack Nicklaus hodinkee talking watches. Really cool episode Teddy
I have watched that episode of talking watches. That is the perfect example of what you described. Imagine the price that day date could demand at auction.
I personally love Freddie Mercury from Queen (solo too) although I’ve never been able to find out if or what watch he ever wore.
Love your video world love to see more like this
More of this, please!
Glad you liked this. Certainly can do a part two at some point.
Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Tomahawk) is a watch lover
#NotificationGang Been recently watching your vids! I hope I get to be a watch collector soon when I get a job. Nice vid again, Teddy. Thanks!
No, thank YOU man! The support means the world!
excellent video
Nice to see the patek and tiffany co brand.
Thanks Teddy...great list
Thank you so much, Chris!
John Mayer has an incredible collection as well
How original!?! Seriously creative dude! Really enjoyed this topic and there’s so many more room to run from here #historymajor
Thank you so much, Arik. I think a part ii might be necessary.
Now you’ve got me thinking of celebs who love watches ;-) for you to reveal
Teddy Baldassarre I often catch myself starring at watches of tv series characters. More than a few times I could tell the model certain actors are wearing such as Lucy Liu who is wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso in 'Elementary' or Tim Roth who is swapping between his Pepsi-Bezel GMT-Master and his Black Sub in 'Lie to Me'.
That would make for an interesting video as well. Anyway, I love your new format. Keep it up, Teddy!
Agree
Love the nod to Zeppelin and the praise of them. Greatest band ever.
Cool vid!
Eric Clapton patek Philip fender Stratocaster and blues are my favourite👍👌
Nice video of Rockstars favorite watches. I like Led Zepplin Jean Paul Jean Rolex GMT Master, I like Rolling Stone Nick Jagger Heuer Carrera watch, I like Slash of Guns and Roses Breitling Chronometre and I like Eric Clapton Patek Philippe 2499.
What a great video, also there is something similar about the Aquanaut and the Timex Marlin, or is it just me ? I LOVE the way that Marlin looks, it just has some Casablanca, old Americans movies vibes to it.
I think the classic look is somewhat similar, however, those price tags are far from similar lol.
Cool list!
Thank you!!
i saw Synyster Gates (Brian Haner Jr.) of the Avenged Sevenfold wearing a Panerai 8 day in black ceramic. as a rock/metal fan and also Panerai, that was pretty cool.
I spotted slashes chronomat breitling for years, however much more recently he has switched to the hulk submariner rolex in the last couple of years since hes been touring with guns n roses.
Offset with the Patek 5790
Have a Chronomat Crosswind and a NOS Chronomatic with BHB 12 movement like the Heuer . But I am no Rockstar only a mechanical engineer so at work I wear a Sinn 157 S t Ty COSC Chronometer ...
Keith Richards wore a white Movado for years before a Staur 1922. In promotions for his appearance in 'Pirates…' he wore his Staur on his right wrist and a tie in Nixon Depp was advertising on his left. More recently he seems to have stopped wearing a watch.
It was slightly odd that he wore his watch on the right most of the time, even on stage, as the guitars pickups will amplify the ticking of a quartz watch and mess with most mechanical watches. Yingwie Malmsteen an avid Rolex collector also wears his watch on the right, which unless it's a mil gauss or explorer isn't good for it.
Nice!
Teddy, I am glad that I have found your channel. I enjoy your content. I have small wrists, which makes it difficult for me to find the watches I am looking for. I watched two videos of yours on watches for small wrists. Still, I'm looking for a chronograph. Can you make a video on chronographs for smaller wrists? Thank you :)
So happy to hear this man. Yeah, I can look into that. I plan on doing a Chrono video soon.
High on Fire! @4:49
Hey Teddy, i love your videos! But, i think, this color grade of this video is better than your latest videos :D
Do you have any suggestions on watches that will last a lifetime? I really want to get a great watch but I can only afford to get one. I am very interested in the Omega Moonwatch and the Rolex Oyster Perpetual. I just really want a watch that I can pass down to my grandkids. any thoughts?
Interesting comments, Teddy. I wonder what watches, if any, did Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson, all of Rush, wore?
Surprised you didn’t mention John Mayer. Arguably one of the best guitarists of our generation and definitely an avid watch collector.
Check out the drama series Sharp Objects if you get the chance. Amy Adams' character listens to a whole lotta Zep driving round in her car in it. She is mostly drunk right enough which I don't condone, but it's a TV programme and it didn't actually happen so everyone can relax!
I will have to check it out!
Axl Rose also would wear a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Volcano.
Bro, how about Carlos Santana?
Cool...and you’re a cool dude. Great piece on time pieces.
I guess John Mayer , but again there are a lot of videos featuring John and also he owns a lot of watches so I guess that's pretty much it .
Hi everyone! any knows what watch or watches use (or used) Morrissey?
B.B. King wore what looks like a solid gold Rolex Presidential but, he always wore it dial side down with the clasp on top of his wrist...?
My Rushmore of guitarists:
1) Prince
2) Carlos Santana
3) Joey Satriani
4) Steve Vai
Awesome cool video. Where can you buy the watch that Elvis wore? It's a cool looking watch.
Interesting- I wouldn't have figured Mick Jagger to go for Heuer. I would have guessed some flashy gold Rolex. I guess he's more tasteful than I gave him credit for!
Cool idea..damn shame none are affordable, but guess they are Rock stars after all! Cheers mate 👍👍
Yeah... life as a rockstar lol we can only dream
I liked the Elvis watch
I wish Clapton was more open to do interviews and so forth regarding his collections. Both his collections of cars and watches are just insane! He never was on Top Gear or The Grand Tour as a guest, and I bet you they must have been in contact with him to be a guest, (not counting that one time he just came and played a bit in relation to a car review). Hodinkee should also just go all in to get a Talking Watches episode featuring Clapton, preferably an hour and a half feature. And what's funny is this, before I got into watches I always looked at John Mayer as a wanna-be Clapton except he couldn't write a proper rock song even of his life depended on it, but I always respected him for getting Dead & Co going, that's actually a really big accompaniment, and he does so in a way where he is not trying to replace the unique artisaniany and playstyle of Jerry Garcia, but rather adds his own element to the group. However, now after getting into watches, I feel my view on Mayer has increased. I do respect him a lot, as a guitarist, collector, and for just living every mans dream of endless women and money, but not as a songwriter. But Clapton, without a doubt my biggest hero as a collector, and also one of my favourite guitarists. And also, big respect to you Teddy for bringing forth some attention to one of rock and rolls most underrated geniuses, Mr. John Paul Jones. Can you imagine being the one who has to glue together the Hammer of the Gods Bonzo with the wild riffs and solos of Jimmy Page? And he also handed a wide selection of instruments. Great video, Teddy. Please do one with only focusing on Clapton, I think more people need to get their eyes up for his crazy watches!
