Except that the tresor is a manual wind watch not an automatic...
@@AlexxxxxSaysHi Except the model comes in a variety of movements
@@williamwoods477 other DeVille? Yeh. The Tresor? Only hand wind
@@williamwoods477 The de ville line of which the tresor is a sub line of does have automatic variants however the tresor line of watches themselves are only manual wind or quartz. They do not make an automatic tresor as it is meant to be a slim dress watch and omegas newer automatic movements are far too thick to fit in a sub 11mm watch.
@@stockholmpublishings2937 what about the "pepsi"?
I love how honest this guy is. "These are watches that most of the people that own them won't use them for their intended purpose." As a collector myself this is 100% true.
Make videos on your collection. I’m a teen who’s interested in these stuff :)
This seems kind of self-evident... Most people wearing bomber jackets are not piloting a fighter jet; most people wearing button-down-collar shirts are not playing a sport with them. This applies to most aspects of fashion and style.
No duh
I think its ok to do both. Some people like to collect for fun and some people like to "ice" them out to brag. No ones better than the other
Well used my submariner to dive in mataram indonesia and it looks wonderfull in there
idk man...my mickey mouse watch is limited edition
Robert Langdon, is that you?
Mine are Dora the explorer.

I wish people would understand not everything is improved by diamonds
Spider-manana it’s a status symbol, they just want to look rich
its better cus they got drip
@@Nomad_Skateboarding unless it's part of the original design. If a brand made a watch with the intentions of putting diamonds as part of the aesthetic then yes,the designer did what they wanted to do with the watches. Also if the piece of jewelry is originally made with colored diamonds like pink or red then the value is increased because colored diamonds are much more rare than regular clear diamonds
It's true but they don't care lol
@@funtimes6406 this is funny because a 5711 Patek Philippe Nautilus plain jane is worth more than the same watch fully iced out.
Glad to see other prestigious brands instead of Rolex or AP

Rolex are known assholes so glad to not see them, Richard Milles are straight up ugly though
Where's the Lange or jlc or grand seiko

Richard Mille, proving that money cannot buy taste since 2001.
Seriously, Mille could produce the first watch to be powered by cold fusion, have it worn by the first astronaut to land on Mars, and it'd still look like something that came out of a claw machine game at a county fair.
Fr
Nah nah ik some of them look like a calculator watch but the lord of the ring one that ed sheeran has and a few mclaren ones are absolute bangers
They're insanely, extremely overdone you gotta respect how much engineering is behind each model. RM are nuts and I wouldn't own one but they're their own thing and that's good.
You saved me some time - you are right on every point. These are watches that put the "W" in Wulgar.... ;o)
I need to stop watching these watch videos or I‘ll end up selling my kidney
Sell kidney for car parts, jk
Your kidney with fava beans and a nice Chianti would make a tasty meal. (*_*)
I recall you wearing a JLC Odysseus Perpetual Calendar in one of your GIMS ’19 pictures hehe 🤓
Or was that your first kidney?

G-shock is God tier
The irony is that most watches has features, which were designed for people who in real life, can't afford them.
Casio's are one of the most iconic watches ever made and offer many tool features for amazing prices.
Before the 70s, brands like Rolex and omega where more affordable tool watches built with a purpose for people. Since quartz technology became a thing, they shifted into luxury goods.
smart comment man!
They want to pretend to be the those people in real life lol
Just buy a G-Shock I have a couple of G Shocks that I wear more than my Omega and Rolex. I love G Shock!

And ugly to boot!
I really don't like the look of RM but the guys know their stuff, they build a giant clock in Quebec City as a gift and the engineering is freaking impressive.
Yeah like Rolex is
@@Bogo6077 eh, no. Read the history.
I want to see the celebs who wear the "common man" watches.... Seiko, Oris, Hamilton, Casio, etc...
strolling around in a timex expedition
Idris elba and ryan Gossling both have been spotted wearing casios
G shocks are a popular common watch and you've obviously never heard of grand seiko. A more accurate watch than a rolex without the jacked up price and chronometer certification
I dunno, if you were worth tens of millions of dollars then would you drive around in a Corolla?
shay campbell Grand Seikos start at around $3,500 and go up to $30,000+. I don’t think that’s really a common man watch that’s in the same vein as Casio, regular Seiko, or other sub $500 watches that the person was talking about.
“The co-axial has 2 axes”. No sir, a co-axial movement uses a frictionfree escapement invented by George Daniels.
And this guy is in watch selling buisness. I guess his "knowledge" matches the expectations of his clients.
Seriously... wtf.
that's when I stopped watching. should have stopped when he pronounced Patek with a d.
Oh
There is friction in a co-axial escapement though, it's just not between the pallet fork and the escape wheel.
7:25 the arrow points to the wrong thing. The pulsagraph is the markings on the perimeter of the dial.
He never actually critiques, he just names the watches and lets you know he knows them all

This stuff is so good!! It’s so hard to find quality reviews in a fun setting if it weren’t for this. Keep doing more of these please!
This guy knows his stuff unlike the “car guy”.
This guy does and say everything " the car guy " says. So by your logic, this guy only talks what he knows off wikipedia
This guy comes across as someone who's learnt the bare minimum as a salesman.
@@thegreenfish21 he isn't as condescending as some self-proclaimed afficionados are
He doesn’t know nearly as much as make out he does. The story about IWC’s Portugieser for example, is only half accurate. The Portuguese sailors actually *asked* IWC for precise chronometer watches in order to orient themselves at sea. Source: I went to the IWC manufacture.
This guy is a joke! GQ should be embarrassed by the amount of misinformation that spewed out of this guy's mouth. And part 1 is just as bad.
Ok but i've got the Ben 10 Omnitrix. Just saying.
You gotta love that yes these watches are very expensive pieces of jewelry but that to a watch enthusiast “icing” out a beautiful piece of art is kinda tacky and unnecessary and that they should just be kept original. True enthusiasm.

@@yutian5884 except he doesn't seem to have a clue as to what co-axial means...it is the exact opposite of what he said! 🙄
Heads up, your editors pointed to a minutes subdial rather than the pulsation meter on the outside of the indices
He is not "critiquing" anything, just mentioning what they have. A critique would be saying that that huge Richard Mille looks absolutely ridiculous on Pharrell's 5-year-old-girl's wrist. Or that Bradley Cooper wearing a pilot's watch with a tux is something one shouldn't really do according to etiquette.
Thumbnail: Apparently they love Bradley Cooper so badly they had to name him *Bradly*
Lol
“Appearently” your spelling is just as bad
I got that Patek Invisiblé on my wrist😂😂 - The Legend
13:07 It's an AP Royal Oak. Not a Patek Philippe...

Tom Holland is using a Fossil on the Uncharted movie if that's of any help.
@12:10 “What probably used to be...” 😂💀
A lot of pilots had to learned to use a similar instrument like the slide rule on the breitling navitimer for navigation though.
If he told the pilots it was essentially an E6B they'd know exactly what it was and how to use it.

Gotta love that iced out “Patek Philippe Royal Oak” on 2 Chainz 😂 @13:09
Man listening to these experts has become my ASMR
basically you hear made in Switzerland and it’s simply a masterpiece
Really wish he critiqued the watches ON the celebrities - most were oversized, did not match the outfit, or the occasion, and it seemed some celebrities just went for a combination of what was most expense/exclusive with no thought to the design, movement, size, etc...
Fitting Watches exactly
Kinda agree but you should never tell someone what suits them.
This is also a GQ vid most likely going to be viewed by non enthusiasts, so it’s alright
And what's the deal with black people and "icing out" watches. It's absolutely ghastly.
@@MrAlcmj I agree with that - fair enough...but I just wish they would at lest address the watch size issue. No need to delve into movements or anything...but I worry people may be making bad purchases on lower-end similar watches based on videos like these.
This is one of the best experts review there has been yet!
HES GOOD BUT HES NO NICO (where’s my pride and pinion squad at?)

I’m very new to the world of watches and loved this. Would be super interested to know the ballpark prices for each of the watches as part of their descriptions too
None of these watches will be under 10 thousand. Some of them are over 5 million.
Much as I like this series, most of the brands that he discusses revolve around RM, AP, Patek, Rolex, Omega...
Kinda wishes more brands were discussed (assuming they could find them).
A shame that many excellent brands (Parmegiani for example) get always slept on
He discussed about brietling, hublot & ofc
The interesting fact about the Montblanc is that it has a Minerva movement. Really makes that watch special.

First time listening to this guy & im pretty much pleased to hear what he had to say, quite well presented .
I'm just glad to see a watch expert wearing a watch on his right wrist.
(...)However men should normally wear their watches on their left wrist, cheers.
Rui Santo not true, you’re supposed to wear it on your non-dominant wrist. Depends on the person.
@@Murko27 true to that, I was searching for it after, and it's factual , sorry tho.
Both of yall are correct, most people are right-handers so they wear watches on their non-dominant wrist i.e. left wrist
As a lefty, I concur. I have my watches on the right wrist.
I think there are some watches with the crown on the left calling them "lefties".
Shout out to the editor who didn’t ask where the pulsograph scale was at 7:27
So nice to see these videos about all these super expensive stuff I'll never touch.
10:10 - My friend's dad has a steel aquanaut on a steel bracelet. The hour markers have developed quite the yellow patina; I wonder how much that piece would fetch.
Anyone else notice the extreme level of creepiness that the now outed cannibal that is Armie Hammer has a pulsograph watch? A watch dedicated to accurate measurements of one’s heart rate…
LOVE THIS GUY BRING HIM BACK!
What a fascinating video. Great commentary!
He's wearing a Royal Oak Jumbo Two-tone in Grey Dial.
I'd say he's got the best looking watch among the bunch. He's not doing bad himself. Great insights.
I really wish there was a “price” for the watches.
Dog The Patek Nautilus steel version is about $50k, but you can’t really get it. Second hand costs $80-150k. The IWC Big Pilot is about $15k, the Omega Aqua Terra and De Ville are about $5k. That Richard Mille, well, costs about $1M....
This man got me wanting an unnecessary watch that tells my death

I am sure that u ask them for the time and they grab their phones 🤣
"...swim across the British channel"? English channel? lmao
Great content, loved the video. A small correction: The Patek Aquanaut is available on a bracelet and not only a rubber strap as mentioned.
Great video. Guy knows what he's talking about. I think he should have mentioned when talking about Sly the Panerai. Panerai what in the 90s on the bottom. Sly was visiting Italy to promote Tunnel movie. He saw the store during a walk ale bought couple of them for him and his friends. He made Panerai well known.
Whoever is in charge of the background music is on it for the first part of the video🔥🔥 elegant
“The Co-Axial has two axes”

Brad has some amazing A Lange & Söhne as well as Patek Philippe pieces, you mentioned none of them
I love how honest this guy is ... True gentleman.... And classy too id like gim to be my friend (stop the cap)....
I know how to use the slide rule bezel, but I'm not a pilot. I have a Seiko Flightmaster and I told myself I could only have it if I could operate the slide rule. It looks way more difficult than it actually is, and if you paid attention in school that helps as well.
I've heard of the watches, but I haven't heard of most of these 'celebrities'. Is there something wrong with me?
David S The less you know about celebrities the better.
Yes, there is something wrong. You are too old.
