I'm a G-shock watch user. Tom Cruise wore the God Tier Casio and G-shocks in 3 Mission Impossible movies. I recall that he wore the Casio dw-290 in the first Mission Impossible and the two succeeding series were G-shocks.
The Top Gun watch was an Orfina Porsche Design PO11. They where also worn by Bodie and Doyle in The Professionals, possibly the military version with numerals.
Also worn by Lewis Collins in Who Dares Wins

I love your videos! BTW, for the new Top Gun movie the actors were in the fighter jets in the rear seat with a camera setup that makes it look like they are flying them. Still pretty badass to pull all of those G's and act. Cruise is a pilot and does actually fly an old ww2 fighter in the movie. And how could you miss the $40 best casio ever he wore in the first mission impossible??

Isn't it kind of difficult to judge his watch collection by the watches he's worn in movies? Aren't those generally the property of the production company or whatever prop/wardrobe company they've rented from? And aren't those generally chosen by the costume designer and not the actor themselves?

The Porsche design 1 he wore at both top gun móviles, was actually owned by the Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Who lente It for shooting.

I know for a fact that the Rich and Famous can be offered models by Rolex before they are released. The confusion over the Rolex worn on the movie Cocktail could be down to this. You also need to bear in mind that there are Rolex ‘Specials’ which are offered privately to selected clients, these are limited runs of anything from 50, 100 or 500 pieces worldwide. With these being limited, they are never seen in the catalog, which is why sometimes it’s difficult to identify certain models because a point of reference is not available.

I think Ol’ tommy should of worn a Glycine Airman in the Top Gun film. Great watch and very popular with usaf pilots . One of the many watches that were on offer at the BX.
The Top Gun watch was the Porsche design chrono. There is a video of Tom talking about it. He reached out to Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the original, to get the watch so he could wear it for the 2022 remake. Bruckheimer had kept the original watch all these years. Exact same watch, both movies.

The designer of the IWC is called Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. Porsche Design (FA Porsche) is not part of Porsche. The maker of that watch is Orfina. They are mostly known for manufacturing specialized watches, like for fire fighters.

5:00 Tom wore a Porsche Design Chronograph in the first top gun. Dan Henry makes a pretty damn good homage of it in his 1972. And no, he absolutely did not fly F-14s or F/A-18 Super Hornets in the movies 😂. The actors were back seaters in F/A-18F with real naval aviators up front at the stick. The cinematography was fantastic and made it look like Tom was actually flying. He does have a private pilot license and his own plane, a badass P-51 mustang seen at the end of Top Gun Maverick, but he does not fly jet engine fighters, sadly.
