My father bought a Seamaster 300 because he saw Pierce Brosnan wore one in Goldeneye. He still has it today and is one of his most treasured possessions.
1300zw I like all the JB watches
Love that blue face of the pierce brosnan omega seamaster!
Same for me! Wearing it since 17 years now!
Same here!
I bought mine for the same reason. Omega just has a look that “spoke to me” over other brands.
When Die Another Day came out, I was working in an office in Times Square. There was some promotional stuff going on for Omega, and they had blocked off an area for some props from a few of the movies (a speed boat, a car, etc), and a stage. Pierce Brosnan was eventually introduced to the crowd. After a few minutes of light conversation with a guy behind the mic, Brosnan was presented with a specially branded Die Another Day Seamaster. He looked at it and said "oh, great, just what I needed. Another watch" and chucked it into the audience.
Great story !!
Craig is a watch guy, castors need to be equally discerning moving forwards... 🙂
Pierce would also later fight a "duel of contractual clauses and whims" against Aston Martin since he wasn't given a free Aston Martin Vanquish after filming "Die Another Day"
At 7:48 - what the hell is "M-ONE-6"??????? Good God Teddy - even Americans know it is MI6 (as in 'M-EYE-6")
Hahaha sorry about that.
@@TeddyBaldassarre No problem.....still enjoyed the video!!
M16 was an American rifle.
Maybe that's where he got it from
The name has changed now, but when it was MI 6 it stood for Military Intelligence part 6.
@@oklahomahank2378 100% correct. MI5 and MI6 - both are branches of UK 'Military Intelligence'.
Teddy, there was a Vincero ad at the start of this video. I find that quite funny.
The Omega Planet Ocean is my favorite. However, Bond's very first Omega in Goldeneye was what got me into watches in the first place.
Seamaster Professional quartz 2541.80
I love mine and it has been flawless since 2001 when I bought it new for the very same reason.
that seamaster in golden eye got me into luxury watches more than anything as well.
It’s also stunning in orange 🍊
12:25 - The primary reason I say OMEEEGA
Saaaaaaameeee
Omega are the "Quiet Gentleman" of watches. Quality at its best!

A poor mans rolex
@@arsenalfc2179 bearing in mind that some Omegas cost more than Rolex's you cannot simply say Omegas are a poor mans Rolex
James Spragg having dealt with the swatch group you can keep them !
@@arsenalfc2179 maybe I will still better than a tasteless gold datejust
I actually once talked to someone at Omega about the train scene in Casino Royale. He told that when they watched it at the premiere, they cringed and were extremely nervous because they didn’t know about this scene and they were convinced that Rolex would react badly. But in fact, neither brands had control over the movie as long as the physical watch wasn’t shown so it was all good in the end. I just thought it was a funny anecdote.
Good video btw 😉
Rolex?
Omega.
Beautiful.
@been m8 hahahahaha!
Rolex?
Timex
Oh.
been m8 dude, you are killing me!😂
Hotel?
TrIvAgO ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I always wanted an omega seamaster just like Bonds and last year after a lot of saving I finally did. It's worth more than the rest of my collection put together but I am glad it was something I achieved.
My favorite is still the Rolex Sub. Some Bond Geek trivia - Ian Fleming during WW II was part of the creation of a British Commando Unit called the 30th Assault Unit (30th AU). A Royal Navy and Marine unit created for intelligence collection. One of the primary skills for this unit was scuba diving which was considered cutting edge warfare at that time. This served as an inspiration for many of the early Bond films. Well done video with some unique and lesser known, Bond watches!
And so odd that the striped nato strap is far too narrow for the lug width. Rumor is the steel bracelet failed or didn’t fit Connery and a crew member had the nylon strap available.
I feel like a funny parody of the watch scene would of been like
"Rolex?"
"Vincero"
"What?"
"What?"
Patek Philippe? :p
"Would've", not "would of"
@@RockandrollNegro That important you needed to comment? or you have no life you had no choice to comment?
@@estebanquinones5918 ok yeah it’s cringe he corrected you but it’s even more cringe that your crying about it lol.
@@James-lz7nn lol to that I say
You're*
When I was a kid, I always thought the bezel of a dive watch could spin on its own and cut through rope after seeing Roger Moore's Submariner in Live and Let Die. I was severely disappointed a few days later when that wasn't the case after playing around with my grandpa's dive watch. Great video Teddy!
That could‘ve been me 😂😂😂👏🏻
Did the electromagnet still work? 😁
You forgot to mention the Seiko golden tuna used in the filming of for your eyes only worn by Roger Moore for the underwater sequences this is known as the 007 golden tuna to collectors A great watch
Also the Seiko 7A28 white Dial chrono.
what about the "skyfall" omega aqua terra? i think james bond will always epitomize the word "cool" for older people like me lol
That's my personal favorite
Actually, have done a full review on my channel of that model. Should have specified at the beginning that I was not going to be mentioning every watch in the series.
Maybe he thinks your cool too 😎
“Detailed history”
Hey Teddy, you missed two Seiko's worn by Roger Moore in 1983 Bond movie... Especially Seiko G757 Sports 100 (which inspired later the retro "Casio Royale" AE-1200) to be remembered... And another point.., the Original Bond Strap of mid-1960's was NOT a NATO strap (as actual G-1098 NATO strap was introduced nearly 10 years later in 1970s) The difference was in strap construction (which in the original Bond strap was mainly fabric, while G10 NATO strap had metal loops from the beginning. 2015 Spectre was first movie where Bond wore a watch with an actual NATO strap)
I have to admit I'm a real watch stalker when it comes to movies, not Just JB but also Panarei in The Transporter and Expendables, Hamilton in Interstellar, TAG Heuer in Jason Bourne and on and on. For James Band being a former Navy Commander I think the obvious choice of a Diver is quite fitting. And i really liked the idea behind Omegas The Commander's Watch Seamaster. For now, Omega is a really fitting choice for Bond.
I’m sure Bond was chuffed when Q told him “ Bond, take off your submariner and put on this Pulsar”
Chuffed to the gills!
Some other things you might have mentioned concerning Bond watches in this video:
1. In the second novel Bond is said to wear a non existent “Rolex Oyster Perpetual” watch a steel sports watch, although most tend to think that Bond wears a 1016 Explorer, as Fleming himself wore one (Bond being essentially an idealised fantasy version of Fleming himself having served in the Royal Navy and as an Intelligence officer during the war).
2. The choice of a Rolex Submariner is apt as Bond is meant to have served in the Royal Navy as a commander prior to joint MI6, and Rolex Submariners were issued to Royal Navy Officers during the time of the publication of the books.
3. In order to get a dive watch for the scenes in Dr.No, as the crew evidently forgot one for the scenes, Connery ended up using what is either Albert Broccolli’s, Director Terrence Young’s watch or possibly a member of the film crew’s watch who was a former navy diver.
4. The original “Bond” nato as seen in Goldfinger is black with two large green stripes each flanked by thin red stripes. And the reason for the new Bond nato on the Omega watches in the Daniel Craig are black with two large silvery grey stripes, is that the new nato design was based on a bad copy of the Goldfinger film, so bad you could only make out the larger stripes and not the true colours. And if you want to get really specific the strap in Goldfinger is technically a not a Nato strap as they weren’t introduced till the early 70s. What he was wearing was a US military nylon strap, with nylon loops. More like a Zulu strap than a nato strap.
I prefer the Zulu strap to NATO. Thanks for the tidbits of info!
I own the spectre. This is my first and only expensive watch. I absolutely love it,and after seeing it was actually for sale after seeing the film numerous times had to have it!.Brought it unworn and paid £8100.00! Its worth every penny, absolute stunner!
Planet Ocean is my favorite - Love the use of the Aqua Terra with the blue vertical teak dial.
Great video Ted, I'd definitely like to see more about watches in cinema. And yes, to answer your question, I love seeing what is on the wrist of James Bond and every other character in all the films I watch because it's honestly an obsession. LOL
Thank you for compiling this together! Amazing resource of information.
Didn't know that Gruen was based in Cincinnati. As a fellow Buckeye this revelation is super cool to me. As for Bond being cool for our generation, I'd say the idea of Bond as a movie and style icon still holds water.
In the first picture of Daniel Craig (also the first as James Bond himself in Casio Royale), he was actually still wearing a blue Seamaster but different from Pierce Brosnan. It was upgraded with the first of the Co-Axial movements and applied indices. The 2220.80. The less popular but better version in my opinion.
I think the planet ocean, Omega was the most beautiful watch ever worn by JB. That one is 1 in my list😋
Yeah I was thinking the same for years, but after trying it the watch is just sooo thick, not far from 2cm thick. I was disappointed.
Thanks for the in-depth look at Bond’s watches, my friend!
Loved that clip......”Rolex?”...........”Omega”.........”Beautiful” 😂👍⌚️
Worst kind of product placement, the name drop was forced into the script because Omega payed them to do it, and any line forced into a script by outside forces will inevitably end up as a bad line. I've seen worse, but that line was cringeworthy.
Ingvar Hallström - True. Remember the terrible ‘DustBuster’ line in BTTF 2?
I actually love that line.. it was good through my head when I bought my Omega Seamaster lol
@@ingvarhallstrom2306 I get that it's blatant product placement but it still made it one of my favourite moment because it was a little cringy, and that's something I don't say no to
@@lumino8435 the franchise is full of bad lines. The worst are when they are trying to cram the title of the film into a normal conversation.
Zorin: "What a view!"
Mayday: "To a kill!"
Which is especially absurd since they botched up the title in the first place. The saying goes: (From) a view (to) a kill, capturing the moment when the hunter/killer has the target in sight and going to pull the trigger.
Very cool video, I wasn’t aware of the Tag used by Bond! Keep the good work my friend!
Growing up in the Craig era of Bond, I wanted an Omega in no small part because of the 007 influence. Craig's Bond made me go back and watch the entire Bond series from #1. My watch tastes have certainly changed since seeing Casino Royale in theatres, but I still have a sweet spot for the Seamaster from the Bond series.
Greatest movies ever made. Just wish people enjoyed them more and new more about them
Ian Fleming’s James Bond only ever wore Rolex. He was very particular about it, just as he was about driving his vintage 1930s Bentley.
Thanks for this nostalgic stroll down memory lane via James Bond. I favor the Omega Seamaster, I just can't afford one :)
The Gruen Precision's last appearance in a Bond film was not You Only Live Twice, it was in Diamonds are Forever. That was Connery's personal watch that he wore in real life. Also, there were no NATO straps in 1963. The British MOD utilized one piece nylon straps for their dive watches. And it's MI-6, not M1-6.
Interesting topic and great presentation, and a good video despite a few flaws regarding the facts and details.
I've wanted an Omega Seamaster watch since Pierce Brosnan starred as James Bond in Golden Eye. It's the most coveted watch I care to ever own. I've been a James Bond fan since I was a child, but Golden Eye was the first James Bond film that I ever got to see on the big screen. Since Golden Eye, I have never missed a single James Bond film on the big screen.
Techniques d'Avant-Garde is my favorite. Thanks for summarizing the watch history. Shaken not stirred. Cheers
Thanks, enjoyed the video. I have the Omega Seamaster 2531.80 Blue Wave Dial. It's a great everyday watch.
I was born in 1965 so the 70s was the decade that had the most influence on me. As a result my favourite Bond car was the Lotus Esprit and my favourite Bond watches were his Seikos.
The Skyfall aqua terra that you surprisingly didn't cover is my fav Bond watch so far.
Fantastic channel! I've been looking for a solid watch channel that doesn't do any gimmicks or shameless promotion of products. Great work. Thanks!
Great episode Teddy!
I think you should do an analysis on watches’ nicknames like the “casio royal” or the rolex “president”(I know you did this specific one once already but maybe just a brief explanation) or The Ripley and so on.... I think it would be really cool
Well I'm 19 and a huge James Bond fan, I didn't grew up with Bond (No time to die will be the first Bond I'll see in theater) I know I'm unusual for people my age but at least for me James Bond still is and always be not only relevant but also a role model! btw just ordered the Brosnan Seamaster :)
I don’t remember which one but Seiko Marine Master was also in the bond movies. I found it! Seiko Tuna series is the 7549-7009 (DJM model 7549-7010), which was featured in the 1981 Roger Moore James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only.
TRUE LIBERTY View to a kill. When Moore was diving in San Francisco
Jackson Lazor now I want to watch that one.
Excellent watch focus in this vid & Bond was the perfect subject
Love your videos Teddy I think you missed one Seiko though two-tone gold and stainless....
I got one of those Pulars for my dad and he loves it. The engineering is absolutely mindblowing
Nicely done video. I did not realize there were Seiko watches in bond movies. Or the tag. I knew about the Rolex and Omega
Great video! There has been one more really cool Seiko that made appearance in James Bond that you might have forgot to mention. It's Seiko G757 that appeared in 1983's Octopussy
Damn those vintage Breitling is so so cool! Great review Ted
Great video! I'm of an older generation, but I still have a connection to Bond, and the watches are cooler if he's wearing them. I can understand younger people not having that same connection though.
Nice work Ted. Well done.
Great video. Nice job!
That gruen precison is nice. Favourite James bond watch Omega spectre. I don't think many of the younger generation would see a bond movie and say that's a cool watch. I'll buy one.
My favorite of the bunch has to be the Spectre. Partly because I already have a few dive watches and that one has a more distinguishable look. Plus, I like the inclusion of a 12hr bezel for a second time zone while still being usable as a timer.
This was very entertaining and informative. Great job.
You may want to also cover John Wick franchise and Carl F. Bucherer.
A few months ago I tried to compile a list of bond watches with the corresponding photo , it was a disaster. And then as if magic I came across your video. Thank you , well done.
Nice work!👌
Bond, Teddy bond.🎊
7:20 Seiko was the must have watch of the late 70's, I was then a preteen kid already interested in watches. Then Swatch unexpectedly relaunched the popularity of analog watches in the early 80's.
Great video Teddy 😊
Great video! Thank you. I just brought a planet ocean. I did not because of the movies, but because the the raw functionality of the piece. Always wanted one. That said, JB does add a bit of coolness and everyday utility to wearing the watch. And I dive, so there!
My Dad’s everyday watch is a Rolex Sub which he picked up due to his love of James Bond, especially the Connery films. He introduced me to the Bond films early on but growing up Daniel Craig was “my” Bond and the association between Omega and Bond will heavily play into my own collection, because who wouldn’t want to wear James Bond’s watch.
Roger Moore also had a Seiko Tuna. He wore two Seikos in “For you eyes only” . Really enjoyed the video.
In my opinion James Bond still has a cool factor, wearing the same watch as a spy adds a little swagger.
A watch special on the Godfather series would be really nice. Awesome video!
My absolute favorite is the Seamaster Pierce Brosnan wore in Goldeneye.
As much as I love a good automatic, I loved the quartz seamaster in goldeneye the most as well. It’s just more practical to me and more accurate.
My pick - Seamater 300M black dial, Quartz, most accurate amongst all the watches in the list. A timeless classic. Been on my wrist for 10 years now, planning to wear it till my last breath.
Great video!!
The names Baldassarre, Teddy Baldassarre
Lol doesn’t roll off the tongue as well 😂
Teddy is cute like teddy bear
Doesn't do the work xD
Nice vid, Teddy. You missed the Rolex Explorer, Ian Fleming’s watch.
Teddy I gotta tell that your footage looks great. Mind to tell us if you did some post treatment? Almost looks like a videogame´s CG, very nice congrats!!!
Love your videos! We need another one with the last James Bond Omega (No Time to Die)!! Would love to hear your thoughts on that one.
Excellent Video !! 007 still has a big influence on watches , cars etc 👍
Omega.
Brand which worn by my Grandfather and it passed to my Father and now it stays in my hand.
kartowidjojo my dad gave me his speed master pre 1969. Hopefully I’ll pass it on to my son (if I ever have one)
Surprisingly, I really like that Gruen Precision.
You missed the PO 2201.50.00 worn by Craig in Quantum of Solace...good and informative video in any case. Thanks Teddy ⌚👍
Great video....I think it would be so cool if the sub re-emerged, but the down side it would make the SS watch even more scarce.
New subscriber. Great video.,Thanks
Mr. T, This watches storyline on James Bond was superb! Tons of fun. I suffer from Walter Mitty syndrome, meaning when I've watched ALL the BOND movies....I actually become BOND. Too
bad I wasn't tuned in as throughly as you are in his timepieces. I certainly enjoyed
your pointing out the timeline as the watches evolved in the movies. Personally, I like the Rolex, Breitling, but my favorite is the Omegas. Outstanding
production on this BOND issue. Thanks for your hard work, effort, and KNOWLEDGE!...till next time...
Hasta la Vista.
Although it’s not been worn in any of the James Bond movies, it was specially created to commemorate Omegas association with the James Bond franchise. The Omega Seamaster 300 Commander is my favourite 007 watch. It has a white face, with blue and red bezel and the 007 gun logo on the second hand; which looks very cool.
I think the 2 most iconic watches 007 wore are the classic Submariner from Dr. No and Omega Seamaster first introduced in Golden Eye. Both, were each actor's respective 1st movie playing the 007 role. And, I think perhaps as such set into the minds of 007 fans what is the iconic 007 watch(es). There are SO many cool watches that both Bond and other characters in the 007 movies wore. I like to rewatch movies and do watch easter egg hunts since I've been more into the hobby for fun. As such, I was pleased to see 007 wore a Seiko Golden Tuna in "For Your Eyes Only". I'm still not sure which is my favorite, but in recent times, I have to admit the Spectre Omega Seamaster always stood out as a very cool and handsome watch.
I think I remember spotting the Gruen during the Oddjob fight scene in Goldfinger as well
My first Omega was purchased in December of 1995, the sea master as worn by Pierce In Golden Eye. I still have that watch today.
More videos like this please!
Cool topic for a vid!!
Thanks for tuning in Chris
It was the 7A38-7060 Quartz Chronograph in A View To A Kill. I've got it in my collection, still working great and looks amazing.
Wow, great video, but more important I learned that TAG was originaly from Luxembourg. Wow, I didn't know. 😮
I got a Rolex Submariner when I graduated from college in 1970. It had a plastic crystal which got pretty beat up over the years. Around 14 or 15 years later a friend sold me his Rolex GMT II with the darker "Pepsi" bezel. He kept the Jubilee band so I transferred my Oyster band over with to it and it looked good. At some point I sold both Rolex's to a broker. I eventually got an Omega Seamaster 2262.50 with the black dial and the Bayonet hands. I eventually added a Speedmaster "Sapphire Sandwich". I still have them both. The Speedy pretty much stays in its box but I do take the Seamaster, on its bracelet, out on more formal occasions and have a rubber strap also that I use at times. To this day it runs at around +3 seconds every two days or so. Just a great watch.
I bought an Omega Seamaster 300m blue dial to my son when he graduated medical school. We are Bond fans and I am sure he will wear his watch for a long time.
Brilliant video
You're missing some Bond Seikos: The G757 Sports 100 digital watch that doubled as a TV screen in "Octopussy". In "A View to a Kill", the SPR007-7020 chronograph (in the iceberg sub), the Arnie in the Paris scenes, 6923-8080 (a quartz date-just look-alike worn in the submerged Rolls scene), and a Tuna worn in the dive scene, also worn in a dive scene in "For Your Eyes Only".
My favorite Bonds watches: Breitling Top Time (square) and the Omegas.
Woah you missed a couple. In view to a kill Moore wears a Seiko Diver during an underwater scene. And don’t forget the rolex sub with the saw function in live and let die.
Awesome that was pulsar that was my first watch I took it and forget repaired at Helzberg in Kansas city Missouri on the plaza and forgot about it
Great video.
Teddy, I own the first 300m , I bought in 1999. I wore it, the most in my watch collection. I sold it, in a trade for a gold Rolex day, date. I missed the watch so much, I bought another one, and wear it to this day,but will never sell this one. My wife met pierce Bronson at Disneyland, told him about my Omega. He told her it was an Excellent time piece, and said I had great taste. But I love it more than a sub, and I will hand it down to my boys! In the watch family forever! Cheers Matt👍👍😎😎
Why is Seiko G757 from Octopussy not mentioned? That watch is quite iconic now that we have a Casio AE1200 that looks very similar to it until it's called the Casio Royale.
Yeah, that's one of my favourite Bond-watch, it's so geeky and '80s! :)
I have that Casio model, it's a really cool watch!
I liked this video. The Seiko H558 also made an appearance in A View To A Kill. It’s the Seiko “Arnie”.
I just bought an Omega 2541.80 the other day, I can’t wait to get it on my wrist!!!
What about honorable mention for the breitling navitimer from thunderball ! Although Bond didn’t where the watch. It was front and center in the movie along being a major part of the storyline. I remember that really stuck out to me as a little kid watching the movie!
