    I hate how symmetrical the consists of the train cars is.
    Not to mention how short the whole train is.

    @kittycraft The number on the cab is 4920, however, 643 ( called a symbol ) is the number designated by the by the type of movement being made / commodity in transit. It use to be common practice to place the symbol in/on the number board. For example, a Norfolk Southern train designated 643 would be a single commodity (non-coal) train and related empty equipment operating over multiple divisions. Each railroad has their own designations, this example is one that I happen to know of.

    If there was a problem in the airbrake system like air hose burst apart the brakes would automatically go on, not render it a runaway.

      @@parkerpritchard4111 Airbrakes have operated this way for hundreds of years. A sudden break in the line will put the air brakes into emergency.

    here is how they could have stopped when the chase locomotoves where coupled to the consist the should have decoupled from the cars then braked

    this train should be able to stop on dynamics, because its two engines and a caboose, and like 8 cars, thats nothing. this movie is barely realistic

      You mean 9 cars and they could have just used 4920 to unhook those railcars and derail engines

    yeah, i know. its pretty stupid, i figured that, but that is the frasier river canyon and the line up to squamish, bc. the engines are bc rail engines

    If they wanted to stop it why didn't they just apply the hand breaks on the freight cars and caboose.

      Each locomotive has a hand brake as well. There's no reason they couldn't stop with only 10 cars or so.

    The train in "Under Siege 2" was filmed there.

      nope different route tdifferent railroad. undersiege 2 was really filmed on the southern pacific route around moffat tunnel. this movie was filmed on bc rail territory in the frazer canyon and river line. the locomotives used in this film are former bc rail mlw m420 locomotives.

      643 was the original number 4920 is a number they put on for the movie

    this was the first runaway train movie i ever seen before 1985's runaway train, 1973's Runaway!, then Unstoppable. if you post any more VHS movies on here. Please Upload Alien Resurrection. it would be cool to see the VHS version on here than the dvd version.

      Speaking of the 1973 movie Runaway, in that movie they show one way the airbrake system would have a problem, is if there's a blockage in the brake lines

      They could have just kept to number board and put a second layer that says 4920 and then when done using it then take out 4920 layer out then 643 I hope you know what I mean

    Its like this @GaithersburgRail knows 4922 is 641 its like a engine order. 641-4922 will be infront of 642 4920 should be behind 644 number order 641-642-643-644.

      1230james or engage the breaks on locomotive 2. Just because engine 1s breaks are gone, doesn’t mean engine 2s breaks won’t work either

    Wait can't you just cut power to the throttle and wait for the train to hit a long stretch of flat terrain to stop it. It's not like they couldn't keep all the other trains off the line in front of it

    i thought that trains will derail when it takes a corner at high speed and this train is 1999 train and it dosent equip with an emergency fuel shut off switch.

      The whole movie was filmed in canada. On the fraser canyon route. When the pull outa "stillwater utah" thats actually lillooet canada. Dont believe me? You tube lillooet railyard and frazer canyon route bc rail. Also if you cant tell or no nothin bout trains the "chase" locomotives are in bc rail red white and blue. And the runaway is in a similar paint scheme of bc rails two tone green sceme. Btw the locomotives are montreal locomotive works m420s

      Yes they did. These trains, even short ones, still weigh a ton. It's a lot of force pressing on the front locomotive.
