In the train wreck for this movie they used scale models. this movie was made in 1995. in 2001 John Tavolta made the punisher movie loacation tampa. One day i was in chester holly model trains, a famous hobby shop. while I was there 2 producers from the punisher were there. they asked me to help them with a train scene and they showed me a pic of a model they wanted to use. yep the model loco from atomic train which i recognized. they couldnt believe it and used something else .
You know, they complained about how their brakes have failed literally just applying the hand brakes on three of their cars would bring the train down to its knees
@@FremontRailMedia yeah but the air hoses disconnected. In a real life scenario, all emergency brakes on the train would be applied and the train would come to a dead halt. But this is atomic train

I had thoughts of stopping the Atomic Train from reaching Denver, set the freight car brakes to help slow down, uncouple the train were the hoses were disconnected, or uncouple the cars from the engines. I love these locomotives, I drew them. I mostly like the two "WestRail" Engines.
They wouldn’t even have to uncouple the cars applying the handbrake on the locomotives and then the first 2 to 4 cars would’ve brought the train probably to a dead stop or at least to a safe speed.
I had a idea to stop the Atomic bomb explosion just decouple the Atom bomb boxcar and run it of into a siding and let the bomb explode deep in the water for a tsumani! i know another crazy way to take out the explosive boxcar first decouple the remaining cars behind the danger boxcar then throw a switch and let that crazy boxcar derail! then slow the atomic train and let the rest of the "A" train couple up to it and then Denver is safe but maybe let the engines derail and the freight train go.
Damn… poor Tucker… also wow I’ve never seen a knuckle coupler break like that. I honestly expected it to rip the cabooses knuckle straight off, not for the knuckle’s clasp to just snap off like that.
@jrs689 That would be awesome! I saw many rare train films, even night train to venice, but final run is the only one that was able to not even show a real picture or screengrab
You definitely know it's a movie because their laws of logic do not apply to air brakes. Or the idea that they could just evacuate and disconnect the lead locomotives pulling the train to destruction.
They used something else and the scene and the movie came out pretty well. i told them. dont use that model. do a good job and make it look good and they did.
@wileyk209zback Except it didn't work in Anastasia (the baggage car still crashed), besides in Anastasia it wasn't mentioned the route was downhill or not if downhill (as in atomic train) the cars might slow down but not stop (and accelerate later on). another besides: if the handbrakes in that movie did work, one baggage car is less weight than + - 12 freight cars on which the hand brakes wouldn't work well enough.
Okay thanks you for telling us! I must search for this number :) Why did they re paint the train for this movie? and take a look at the Dvd front side, the train they show there is int in this movie anytime
@DIVRITE what happend to the model? I knew they used scale models but not that the model was intact after the atomic train movie. would have been funny if they did use it, first time there would be continuety in two different movies. :P

just came back to this video and completely forgot i made this comment. god damn i was dumb

This movie is average but RIP tucker
Yeah he was a great man😢
He was my favorite character of the movie, he didnt deserve that death😓
I still don't know why they didn't get people on the train who could had explosives that could blow apart the coupling bolts
I feel sorry for the driver who hit that man who feel of the back
I know. That feels bad with me.

Maybe they think it's too dangerous to do while the train is moving.
It is hard to stand between 2 boxcars without platforms or solid grip
Couldn't they just make go backwards and probably slow it down by going backwards, and shutting down the engine?
