  • It's been a long time since I did a video about either of my Yamaha motorcycles. As the 2020 season starts, they are both running great, with no issues ever. The only thing I've done to either has been to put tires on them. I am running Mitas E07+ on the Super Tenere and Dunlop D606 front and rear on the WR.

      Thanks Bill! I'm definitely riding. It's just been a challenge to come up with something compelling.

      hard to believe this was a year ago. 2021 would be a good year for you to do the NEBDR I think!

    That front on the Tenere is pretty aggressive! Hope you get some good riding in soon. The beard is coming in nicely!

      I put 50/50 tires on it because I tend to split my riding like that. When I'm in the dirt I like the aggressive tire at the expense of wear and durability.

    Good hearing from you again Keith.
    Being a fellow S10 (2015) rider, I am always keen to gain more insights into its life. When you installed the Mitas E 07s +, did you consider the Dakar version?
    Regards from B.C.

      Hi Rob, I had the Dakars on previously. IIRC, they were not available when I needed to replace them. I heard from a friend that the Dakar's may be available again, so I would go back to them. The E07+ tires don't have that center strip and I can tell I am not going to get that same mileage out of the back that I did with my Dakar, which was 9,500 miles. My E07+ rear now has only 3,500 miles on it and I think I will be lucky to get 7,000 out of it. So, yes, I prefer the Dakars.

      That's cool that you met a new riding partner. I definitely enjoy riding in groups...just don't know if I'll have the motivation to organize another ride this year or not.

    do you think Super Tenere is still good buy today? looks like is discontinued in Europe.

    • @AdventuresWithMe00
      @AdventuresWithMe00  3 года назад

      Yes, I think it's a great buy. They are as reliable (or more) than a BMW GS for nearly half the price. Might be a little tough to find one. I had to drive 800 miles (one way) for mine.

    Had to chuckle at the beard. I quit shaving when the lockdown started, figured I might as well do something creative will all my "sheltered in place" hours. First place I'm going when this nonsense ends is to get a haircut though. A friend stopped by the other day, took on look and said it looked like I'd stepped out of the late 60s "all you need is a blunt in your hand." At age 68, I do remember the sixties, but neither the hair nor long beard were white... back then. Oh well, I can still get on the ST so all is good. Hope you do some of the MABDR for vids. Considering doing that one on the ST. Would be curious as to how you find it, regardless of the bike.

      Thanks Richard. I grew the beard for quarantine purposes too...figured I wasn't going to be seeing anyone and I can't usually grow a beard to save my life. I'll probably shave it off and get a short haircut when this is over.
      The MABDR seems appealing. I've heard it's more tailored to bikes like the Tenere. I haven't set out any firm touring plans this year. I have been thinking about the new NEBDR, but would take the WR250R on that.
      I owe you a video on the tool tube. Waiting for a free day with decent weather!

    Typical Yamaha reliability. My super tenere is is also a 2014 and it is running great as usual.
