She is a badass!! Separated shoulder, cracked rib....I can ride out no worries 💕 Thanks for the share.
We were just up in Mass riding the TMT and parts of the NEBDR and puppy dog in late July. We picked up a 2012 XT for our smaller friend to ride. I didn't even know the XT existed until a few months ago. What a great little machine. Reminds me of a mini lighter version of my KLR. Thanks for sharing.
Brave lady! Glad you're okay and back on the road.
Gotta love a woman who actually rides ❤️
Thanks for sharing your stories. What perseverance. Good to hear about the riding community in a different part of the country.
Cool Story! Nothing quite like riding home with broken bones, lol. Xt's do rock, 'tho. Tough
I love the injection on my '13. She NEVER runs out of breath pulling up a mountain. She just walks right up the hill, like its nothing. A true mountain goat. Has all the power you need as long as you keep her under the double nickel. But, to each, their own.
Be safe out there now.
Thank you for sharing videos of the xt250 =)
Love this bike, thank you for sharing!
you have a very strong grasp on speech and presentation. Cheers on that bike and best wishes
It's nice to know you have a bdr out east. I live a few miles off of the northern section of the idaho bdr which i ride almost every day. This winter I went to arizona and rode most of the bdr there. I guess I better load up the bike and head east and see what you have going there. Nice bike and great attitude. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment. We would love to get out your way and ride. It has to be so different from what we have out here.
Thanks for update 😀 👍
Cheers from new Zealand 🇳🇿
Thanks!
Just a quick note i pick up my new honda crf300l tomorrow be interesting to see what it's like know my xt250 didn't like head winds
Cheers from new Zealand 🇳🇿 😀
Just picked up my 2019 xt250 last week. When I picked it up it had done 1400 kilometres, sorry, don't know how many miles that is. I'm a newbie and so excited. Female carpenter in Australia. I'm booked into a couple of adventure riding courses. Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it.
Awesome, glad you liked the video and I hope you are enjoying that XT!
What an excellent video. Loved the infinite wax job you have there. Very interesting early model vs current model XT250 ergonomics. You seriously should be on the XT250 design committee as you know it inside out. You definitely were catalyst for me to even buy an XT with your over 40k story on Momo.
Thanks for the kind words. Hope you are enjoying your XT - such a wonderful machine. I would love to one day head to the Yamaha factory in Japan to see the XT250 assembly line - and to thank those who work on building this machine for the phenomenal quality they send each XT off with.
Thank you for the comment and we're thrilled that you found the information useful enough to consider in your bike purchase!
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Brandon!
Thanks for sharing. It's fun to do more with less. The joy of riding and challenging yourself. One tough gal here
Yes, I really enjoy minimalist riding...it's amazing to discover what you don't need.
My apologies for commenting about the availability of the side racks and adding a website link. My intention was to be helpful to those looking for the rack.
The bike is the same as a Yamaha tricker in Japan which is a trials bike . That's why the handlebars are low the bike is made to right standing up and ride.
Beautiful bike, XT 250 are the best
I just bought a 2016 model.
Is that the same skid plate that’s sold for the Serow? I like it better than the big after market ones. Sorry to here about the second injuries but happy to hear the XT did well.
So I heard that the Super Tenere footpegs are interchangable with the XT250. Can't confirm but I'd love to upgrade my XT250 pegs. I also put cheapo tusk risers on and upgraded to 7/8 Pro Taper Windam bend. I'm 6'3" and it seems much better than stock for me. I'd love those side carriers if Yamaha still makes them. Would like an affordable suspension upgrade since I"m 244lbs on a good day. Its a Yamaha and always starts no matter how rought I treat it. Thanks for sharing your experience. Cheers!
Cogent dynamics makes a great aftermarket suspension option. While not cheap - so worth it!
Can I come on a ride with you guys ? I just got a brand new KLX 300 and I’m dying to get it on the dirt
Nice video 😊 you give good information thank you.
I am happy because my stayed after Christmas
That's awesome about your Elf on the Shelf Brandon.
Thank u
Do you have links to the headlight and turn signal upgrade? I’m up for that, I have a 2018. Thanks!
This is a fun bike, I have the older , carburetor type version of it. But it has one major problem. It has tube tires. I do not understand why yamaha does not put tubeless tires on this bike. If you get a flat tire with this bike in the middle of nowhere, you better have a bunch of tools, a spare tube and an air pump and the know-how to take the wheel off and replace the tube. A tubeless tire would taken 15 minutes to fix. It happened to me and I was stuck in the middle of desert.
Yes, it's a major hassle on all of these types of bikes. I've had the misfortune to change tubes in the middle of nowhere too and it's no fun.
You bought a nine-year-old model for $3200. In 2013 I bought a 2005 XT 225 with 4,000 miles for $1,750. They have really gone up in price for comparable age bikes.
I bought it in 2018 and it had less than 40 miles on it.
Hi , i just bought a xt 250 2013 , with only 500 kilometer and it has been park in a garage for 8 years , i know i have to get a new battery , what else would you recomen to do it , before i ride it ?
Thanks for the video. When you added the risers did you have adjust any of the cables so they weren’t too tight when turning the handlebars all the way to one side? My cables on my 2019 model seem too tight to add risers but I want to so it’s more comfortable to ride standing.
While the cables are tight, they are not to the point to risking damage with the risers so I did not have to adjust the stock cables.
That’s badass looking! Pretty woman as well!
deciding between a xt250 and a honda cb500x for my girlfriend. for the colorado bdr. we would ride from denver to durango on the smaller roads. all loaded up what a comfortable speed you could maintain? we have a yamaha sr250 that she loves so i thought it would be a easy transition. my main concern is the ride to get there. she tore her acl, mcl, and minicus in 2021 and went through all the physical therapy so she is stronger but still regaining muscle.
73 mph is the top speed on this machine - you might think about trailering out - would save the tires as well so you can put a more aggressive knobbie on it and not wear it out.
Try a Trackmaster 2. It wears faster but outperforms the D606 in dirt/rocks of Colorado.
The trackmaster does not come in 120/90-18
@@DualsportChic The 110/100 works fine for me.
Hmm. My 2009 XT250 is fuel injected and the last year they were made in Japan.
have you experimented with an aftermarket sprocket like the 14 tooth?
I find the OEM size sprocket give the best range. I would only change it if I wanted to ride more tight trails, or if I road more high speed pavement.
I can't imagine touring on a xt. They're absolutely gutless on the highway without bags and gear, much less loaded down...
Who would ride this on a highway unless they absolutely have to??? Take the dirt dude!! I've got sport bikes/ADV bikes for other duties.
@@DualsportChic did you not see the video? If you travel any kind of distance you're gonna have to eventually get on the street. Im just sayin this one's too small for trekkin state to state. I know cause I have one. My FJR does my highway duties. My XT is for the local trails.
@@yamahasuperbike2202 I beg to differ - didn't get over 40k miles on my 08 from riding it around the neighborhood. The northeast has a plethora of dirt roads and I've traveled most of them on multi-day trips - covering up to 7 states per trip. Don't knock it until you try it.
@@DualsportChic highway no... Streets fine. The XT we picked up for my buddy kept up with KLRs and a 1250GSA on the pavement just fine. Highway riding is for Goldwing and Harley guys.
Does anyone make a bigger fuel tank for the XT250?
Not at this time unfortunately
This bike looks much like the one owned by the woman who lives just down the road from me...
LOL ; )
Header pipe needs painting
Helmet bluetooth
This is also the same bike John Rambo rode in first Blood. Quick question. If we do see you out there, should we also refer to your bike in the first person and by name?
