We have enjoyed following along on your 250 bird challenge this year! 🐦 Looking forward to what 2024 brings!
A suggestion for a future video series: "Birding With..." Where you go bird watching and interview different followers, friends, fellow bird watchers, etc. It's always fun to hear about how bird watchers came to enjoy birds, favourite sightings, etc.

I just wanted to let you know that I agree with a comment left below by John Callender. It amazes me that some people feel that they need to pass judgement on how you live your life. Like it was said, it was your bird challenge and your rules. I just am happy that you decided to share it with us. It was really fun to watch. I kept hoping you would visit places that were so close for other great California birds, but I know your schedule was tight. Thank you for bringing us along and I look forward to your adventures in 2024.

Thanks so much Cindy. I think we will announce our rules at the beginning of our next challenge to avert potential confusion! Haha 😉

Hello there. Thanks for sharing your bird adventures with us. I believed I joined your channel late in 2023 so I missed alot of the earlier videos. I’m looking forward to more videos on birds in 2024!! 13:44

Haha... well. We will choose something that stretches us and gives us the opportunity to hopefully become stronger birders. Thanks 😊

It kind of boggles my mind that random commenters feel entitled to pass judgment on the rules you set for your own personal birding challenge. It’s your challenge! The number only means anything because of what it means _to you_. Anyway, I really enjoyed the California trip. As a California birder those were birds and locations I know, so it was fun to see them through your eyes. Congrats and thank you for a great series of videos!

      Haha thanks John
It was just a couple of comments, and not from anyone who is around anymore.
However one in particular stuck with me, when they wrote quite a diatribe (which I deleted) about how cheated they felt and how they were unsubscribing etc.. etc..
It seemed like an awful lot of anger to be directed at, as you mention, a target that felt appropriate for us, our circumstances, and ability.

Great video! Looking forward to Part 2! Can I ask where you got that T shirt?

      Thanks Chris
I don't remember where I got the t-shirt, but I know it was in a shop (not online).
However, you're not the first person to ask me about it and I *have* subsequently seen it at a place called Pelee Wings that sells all kinds of birding stuff. Unfortunately, it's not listed on their website, so I'm not sure how helpful that is to you over in Northern Ireland. Unless you fancy a trip over 😁
They're quite helpful people, though. Maybe if you contact them, they might be to do something for you. Or perhaps if you have friends/family over here etc..

That was wonderful. The year I saw an ivory-billed woodpecker was 2018. I recognized its call before I saw it.

Nathan, I think the other commenter maybe believes you might have seen something other than an Ivory-billed Woodpecker. Such as perhaps a Pileated Woodpecker.

@@BritHikesOntario I really did see an ivory-billed woodpecker because I heard its "kent" call and saw it was larger than a pileated woodpecker. It had more black on the front of its face and its bill was more white.

No worries, I'm not here to critique anyone. It's an amazing sighting.
