    I lived in Northern Arizona and frequently would see Bullock's Orioles, of all places, visiting my Hummingbird feeder. I strategically placed the feeder by my kitchen window with curtains just a few inches apart to not startle the birds with any movement on my part. A great way to enjoy a morning cup of coffee.

      Sounds like a great way to start the morning.
      We would love to visit Arizona. Something we are considering for next year, possibly.

    How thrilling you got to see the Bullock's oriole here in Toronto and thanks for pointing out what made it a first year male... The red-necked grebes are fascinating to watch, especially when they're displaying some courtship behaviour. I've seen them many times but never gets boring to see again. Thanks for the views and sharing the experience. No need to apologize or ask for our patience... this is what birding is all about and as a bird lover I find all sightings delightful to watch (you do a great job filming and photographing!)

    What is funny is you had the Oriole in Toronto we had a Western Tanager here in Ottawa this winter. Great video.

      Thank you Peter. I've seen the Western Tanager reports for the last few months. It has been tempting. A good one for Ontario and a good one for our year. But not a lifer for us, else we might be there!

    Holy shit this is different for me.
    I didn't know you bird watchers have games and bingo cards and the like.
    Seems like it's a lot more varied an activity than I thought.
    Good for you guys. Have fun while doing good...

      Thanks bud, was fairly bold once it popped out on show. Good looks. Very popular bird here over the last few weeks.
      There's been a few unusual birds around this winter. Bit too far for me to go, but there's been a Western Tanager hanging around Ottawa.

Great birds there in 70s cardinals all kinds even gold finch I think loved the barn swallows and purple martins. point pele near Leamington has great birds too.

    Can you reduce the volume slightly on the intro video compilation as it's louder than the rest of the video's audio? My wife have been watching with baby in arms and it's slightly startling when it comes on :) Thanks for making great videos!

    That was great footage of the Bullock's oriole. I've never seen a red-necked grebe, but I have seen a least grebe as well as a pied-billed grebe.

    I have had a pair in my area for 2 weeks. Both are strangely drinking out of the hummingbird feeder. I had to take the yellow bee protectors out so their beaks fit into the holes. I have never seen this before. I have oranges out, but they prefer the hummingbird nector. This is crazy. I am on Lake St. Clair, in Southwestern Ontario

      If you have Bullock's Oriole (rather than the expected Baltimore or Orchard Oriole), it's probably worth reporting! 🤯

    • @AWalkWithWhizzy
      @AWalkWithWhizzy 2 месяца назад

      @@BritHikesOntario Who do I report it too? It is so bloody strange to have them at the hummingbird juice thing. The pair doesn't look like Baltimore Oriole. They are just beautiful. I removed the yellow plastic flowers so their beaks fit easier. I am not sure who to report to. I haven't been able to get a pic.
