Whoa, love the intro graphics and transitions-nicely done! Annihilation Conquest was my first omni and I absolutely loved it. I’ve been looking forward to this release. This plus moon knight and Spider-Man by JMS is going to make for a busy and expensive month!

It should include Giffen's "Thanos"-Run. That too lead into "Annihilation", just like "Drax: Earthfall" did.
It always annoys me how Giffen's Thanos is never collected alongside other Annihilation books

The reason I liked Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest, where the stories are split in different stories and they all gather up for the main event, reminds me of JRPG.
It is similar to how Dragon Quest IV and Wild Arms games have you see each supporting character's story leading up to the main story/adventure when they all meet.

I have this one and Conquest of course, would highly recommend this book to anyone with a passing interest in the cosmic corner of the MU, great storyline and art start to finish
So relieved to see that this reprint was done at the Donnelly printer. Great overview as usual, this is definitely on my buy list for May.
Keith Giffen told me that one of the best things about the Civil War event going on at the same time as Annihilation was that the Marvel Editor In Chief had no faith in Annihilation and all his focus was on Civil War- which allowed Giffen and DiVito to get away with a lot of character updates-
You'll notice that Annihilus, Drax, Nova, Firelord, Gamora, Moondragon and Peter Quill all look very different from their prior appearances.
Particularly Annihilus! His revamp made him much larger and more imposing, with long claws and reversed lower legs and a spikey carapace on his shoulders.
And a glowing crown.
It was pretty telling that Thanos was impressed with him- and no one impressed Thanos.

Same here! I have Conquest, Guardains by DNA and even Annihilation Scourge on my shelf. This was the last piece of the puzzle for me. I may or might not pick up War of Kings also.

@@SolidK9 Yes, you are good to go with only basic knowledge. I strongly recommend reading the whole 5 omnibus run if possible ( Annihilation, Annihilation Conquest, Road to War of Kings, War of Kings and Realm of Kings ). At the very least try and pick up both Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest. War of Kings is getting a reprint later this year ... a lot of people will be looking to pick up a copy as it has been out of print for several years.
I pre-ordered this book from cheap graphic novels back in December of last year. Since then, I've won conquest in an auction. Now, I'm just waiting to get my copy of annihilation so I can read through these for the first time.
Love the opening. The epicness makes me more pumped for the overview.

This will always be my favorite CB event. When all my friends talked about civil war and how good that was I always was about this. What Giffen, DNA managed to accomplish for Marvel cosmic is phenomenal. This was the book that made me a huge fan of Richard Rider where he’s in my top ten favorite superheroes and in general I’d kill to see the MCU adapt this storyline.
Duuuuuuuude... love those new graphics. Stoked to pick this up, relatively new to the omni game and Annihilation is one of my all time favorite stories.

I remember some yahoo on the MMW message board saying that he wanted to hear announcements from Marvel and not from some RUclipsr. The irony of course is that Marvel was sharing info through Omar. I wonder what that person is thinking now that Marvel sponsors Omar.

Annihilation was what got me back into American comics after switching to strictly manga for years. Saw the first over-sized hardcover in a bookstore and thought it looked really cool. picked it up and loved it. I have that whole cosmic saga in tpb/oshc, including the annihilation classic oshc, and have been debating on upgrading to omnibus format since the original printing was announced. might finally go through with it. I do love the alternate cover.
Well, my wife got me the annihilation and conquest omnis for my birthday. So I ordered the road to war of kings Omni and preordered the reprint of war of kings. Now I just need to track down the realm of kings Omni and I'll be set.

Great spotlight. This has been on my mind recently, and I'm not sure I'll pull the trigger. The Annihilation main story was really compelling for sure. But I found other parts included like the Silver Surfer mini series or Ronan mini series that were a bit hard to get through. Drax mini series to start off was ok.

So basically every Omni reprint from Marvel will give you a mismatch on the shelves if you didn't have all the issues in a run or saga from the first printings and hoped to fill holes in with new 2022's reprints. Great. It might be major (Silver/Bronze Age, FF by Hickman) or minor (Annihilation) but you cannot avoid a mismatch.
Well, good to know, thanks Omar for your high quality previews and comparisons. Invaluable information. I will scout for old printings in secondary markets and will not buy Marvel Omni reprints anymore, classic or modern, unless I have to start a run from zero (and even then, who knows how much they will be consistent in 2023 or 2024 with follow up volumes, probably they'll change again).

Isn't What If Annihilation included in this omnibus? In Hachette's Official Marvel Graphic Novel it's included but the Nova Corps Files aren't.

None really. I would love a prologue, but the book is great standalone

@@NearMintCondition in the sewn seam there's a line of thread with what looks like dots of glue and they look like they were ripped. If i was able to show you it would be much easier to explain
