It's a hell of a ride! I actually own three pages from the Siege special - including THAT final page. I even had series artist Alessandro Vitti draw a killer pic of Nick and Daisy sharing that drink that Nick offers her occasionally throughout the series. (If you Google "Nick Fury and Quake" you'll find it right away). Oh, how the MCU blew it by not making a faithful adaptation of this series!
I got impatient and spun over $200 for this last year. I don't care WHAT book it is, I will wait for the reprint (looking at you DC ~Wonder Woman by Gail Simone).
TOTALLY worth it! There's a time jump about midway through the story where they changed artists from Caselli to Vitti and the colors go from very bright and saturated to very muted and gritty... And the story becomes very grim and dark to match. Honestly, I think Vitti is a much better choice of style for this series. Caselli is great, but a bit too cartoony for a spy book where a LOT of people get killed.
He's great in Avengers too! The entire team(s) a perfect young characters to use in the new millennium...and Marvel has decided to make endless Spider Man and Wolverine copies instead. Netflix could have made this series SO hardcore.
Hey Omar. Any chance of getting Brian Bendis or Joe Quesada on the channel for an interview? Random, I know, but I think their impact on Marvel and Daredevil cannot be understated and would make for a fantastic conversation.
Should I buy this one or hurry to get Avengers vol2 by Hickman? (1st one is OOS sadly, so not sure I will ever get 1st one and quality seems kinda meh, from the review of it).
ABSOLUTELY. Secret Warriors and Annihilation are the two essential runs that changed the status quo of the Marvel Universe in the new millennium. Secret Warriors really let Hickman experiment a LOT with how he tells stories and reveals secrets to the readers. Lots of slick graphic design "computer screens" to admire and puzzle over too. It's worth noting that the TV series Agents Of Shield did a kinda PG rated interpretation of this run. Sorta. Season two of the series and Captain America: The Winter Soldier take a LOT of story ideas from this book!
Definitely the best Wolverine run of all time! Plus, they introduced The Gorgon in that run! When I met Him Cheung several years ago, I knew exactly who I wanted him to draw for my art collection- The Gorgon! He did not disappoint, either!
Yes. It’s Hickman. Hickman’s works are a must for any Marvel collection, and this is where it all began for him, making it the best and true jumping on point.
Definitely! It's a great high stakes ride with new characters and older characters introduced in the 1960's- and absolutely NO ONE IS SAFE. Guys that have been around for decades are as likely to get shot in the head as new characters! Hickman pulled no punches- mainly because the characters, while known, are not "properties" like Wolverine or Spider-Man where you read a run knowing they'll never be killed off because they're too much of a cash cow for merchandise and movies and whatever.
YESSSSS! So excited for this one, so I can run through Hickman’s full masterpiece.
So say we all😐😑😎🦸♀
What is a suggested Omnibus only reading order for Hickman?

I LOVE that Hickman has threads that connect all of his stuff. It's so rewarding and cool.
I have been waiting for years for this reprint. It has been in my most wanted reprint for ages. So glad Marvel decided to reprint this one.
Will definitely be picking this up. Just wish that Fury was still an active character in the current comics, its not the same without him.
One of my whales finally reprinted! So happy to read this as soon as i get it
Oh man I was hoping for this video
Excellent Review - Excellent Book
I bought this omnibus and I can tell you NICK FURY is a BADASS!
Thanks for the video, Omar!
Already pre-ordered. Can't wait.
Wasn’t collecting when this was first released. My LCS had it a long time ago and I missed grabbing it. Happy to officially have it in my collection
Definitely picking this up 🎉
I prefer the standard cover. This is a must buy in any event.
Definitely grabbing this
I hope Hickman's S.H.I.E.L.D. series gets a hardback release too.
I can’t wait for this !

Ha, that was me too. Except War of the Realms, Star Wars, Savage Sword of Conan…. You’d think I’d learn by now.
was on the edge of doing that for Zero Hour, then the reprint announcement came 😅
I am really looking forward to reading this.

I've never actually read all of this, but I do want to. You might just have sold me on it Omar
Those covers on the back of the dust cover seem like they were redacted in white lol
Manifold is also amazing in Coates' Black Panther run
He's great in Avengers too!

I’ve only read hickman’s avengers and X-men is this worth the read?

I figured those issues got censored cause they were secret 🤫
The back cover without the text looks really strange.
Hey, do a review of a full volume or an Omnibus of Wolverine: Enemy of the State.
Definitely the best Wolverine run of all time! Plus, they introduced The Gorgon in that run!

I know nothing about Secret Warriors but I've been eyeing it for months. Should I?!?!

They are reprinting all of Hickman's stuff AND I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY! I literally just bought Avengers Vol. 1 after saving money for 5 months
i know art is subjective but the artwork is ugly to me, especially the coloring
