The art is great. In particular, it's great comic book art. There is so much to absorb in every panel without overwhelming the reader with "too much detail". The wide range of facial expressions reminds me so much of Kevin Maguire. Two thumbs up on the colors as well. The colors make the art just pop off the page.
This was a blind buy for me, Peter David is such a great writer that I don’t mind going in blind knowing it’ll be great! Thanks for the great review Omar!
This and Jim Starlin's CM were honestly my favourite versions of the character and I have been looking forward to this omni for years. Looks great! Can't wait till mine arrives next week.
This is an Omni I’m super interested in picking up because the only thing I know about this era of Captain Marvel is the infamous "U-Decide" contest that Bill Jemas came up with that also gave birth to Marville… so it’s gonna be nice to read what that thing was up against lol. Great overview as always Omar 👍
I bought these as they were coming out and they were really good. I mainly buy silver and Bronze Age omnis so I won’t be getting this, but I definitely recommend it to anyone who missed out on the original issues.

Full disclosure, I've only finished the first half. I don't care. This is amazing, among the best Marvel books in my collection. To paint a picture, I absolutely HATE Rick Jones, especially after reading the silver age Captain America/Marvell books. Just boring, same with MarVell. But Peter David is a freaking genius. Not only am I enjoying this immensely, I now find I LOVE Rick Jones. And Genis-Vell. And Marlo Chandler is officially my favorite Marvel character ever (after Thor of course).
Can’t wait. One of my favorite series from the 2000s for both art and story. I even got a Captain Marvel Randy Bowen statue customized to get his cosmic Kerr uniform along with a few original art pages from the series from CrissCross. Always shocked they haven’t done a lot since this series. Definitely getting the direct market cover like you.
im getting the alex ross even though criss cross cover is more representative of the series.. i know this is a huge book but its so much fun and peter david always does something so different than what anyone else would do with characters.
At last, the return of the Captain Marvel we were waiting for. This was a fantastic run by PD and co on a great (under rated) character. I'm glad he's back in the MU again after that daft and un-necessary - and convoluted - way they wrote him out.
can't wait to receive mine... I hope that one day we get a Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel Omni, as she's always the forgotten character. She had a few miniseries and one shots, and there are quite a few Avengers stories that could go in there.

A big eye for a big book! Seems like the build on this one is pretty good. I like that Marvel are experimenting with designs on the boards but I think I prefer the covers being printed on the front and back. Thanks Omar, you may have tempted me to pick this up!
Looking forward to this one! My only nit is that I’d prefer two 700 pagers to one 1400 pager, but I get that may be a minority preference. At least we don’t have to wait as we get it all available now in one mega book. Just makes it hard to read while laying on the sofa. 😅
Got this pre-ordered. I didn't pick it up when it was originally coming out, not sure why, as I've always been a PAD fan and I liked Avengers Forever. I can make up for that now!
A lot of times as it gets closer to the release date some covers sell out for preorders. Then on the day of release both covers become available. I suggest ordering ASAP with this one.
I gave nothing against Peter david writing, but when I tried this over a few issues it just didn't click for me, sobwith those memories j have passed on this. People who have been waiting for this I do hope you all enjoy.

Are you sure about the Spider-Man 2099? You said that his apearence in this omnibus was in the Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus, but I don't think so, I've read it recently and don't remember Captain Marvel... 🤔
The Captain Marvel issues will be collected in the second Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus. They aren't in the first one but they would have fitted more in this one (like the 2099 Unlimited issues that will also be in the second volume).
And just like that I need to re-examine my comic budget this month…

Probably my most hyped omnibus. This was a formative book for me as a teenager. Really happy that it is finally coming out!!

I am very drawn to this. Love the art, kinda reminds me of Maguire. And Peter David is a God.
This is a really overlooked era. Also hoping that we get the Brian Reed era of CM next but that'll likely be two volumes.

An Avengers by Roger Stern Omnibus is much needed. Many, if not most stories featuring her, come from that run
