What’cha Gonna Do- is a must to listen to & Cool Love is also a great one by Pablo Cruise as well. They are definitely on my playlist… Great band!
"What'cha Gonna Do" is, definitely, a must. 👍👍
[their 2nd-biggest song]
...but "Cool Love" is weak and limp. **shaking head** ...Not worth the investment.
100% agree
I was just gonna say this. 👍🏻
Yeah I forgot about that song my dad has both of them on a record
@@christarpley6861 great song .. 😊
There were other decades with good music, but the 70s are arguably the best for the quality, quantity, and variety. And without the tech of today, it was legit. You had to have actual talent!
This is quintessential Yacht Rock. One of the highest rated yacht rock songs in history.
Yep, absolutely. Hope they give a listen to "Whatcha Gonna Do" sometime soon; Top 10 hit, and those guitar solos will knock them out.
These guys were absolutely outstanding band.
“What you Gonna Do When She Says Goodbye” is another Pablo Cruise song you need to check out! ❤
Pablo Cruise was so smooth.....easy and smooth. "keep your heart open"
Now. Time for Little River Band.
I agree.
They did "Reminiscing" recently with Ty.
One of my personal faves. Very uplifting. I know you both will like this one. ❤
Love their music, they were very popular in the 70's and 80's, had alot of great songs. This one is my favorite. "Watcha Gonna Do" is another good one.
Between the ear to ear smiles AND the little bit of stank face nick was making , yeah this is how music should feel... Nice job guys . Love this reaction.
A Place In The Sun, lp.
This song is actually on my Yacht Rock playlist. I can see myself on my yacht while this is playing. Wish I had a yacht!
That is an example of great 1970s pop-soul. Super cool, clear, mellow guitar tone. That is baby-making music!
Place in the Sun is my favorite by them.
A Place in the Sun and Whatcha Gonna Do are a must listen to by them.
Wish I'd seen them live in concert, awesome cool song yay, good review by u guys 👍😎👌🎤🎸🎸🥁
im going on a 70's cruise in march and they are going to be on the ship along with alot of other great 70's bands. i cant wait!!! I love their music.
Soooo jealous!
Love this song
A place in the sun is my favorite Pablo cruise song.
Quintessential Yacht Rock. Vote for Pablo!
I loved these guys back in the day. Whole album is great.
Qualified as Yacht Rock, yes.
the EPITOME of YachtRock
IS this yacht rock? Oh, my sweets, this is THE yacht rockiest of them all!!!! xoxo
Yeah! Now you have to listen to Watcha gonna do! Both these songs are fire.
🔥 🔥 🔥 at last, a Pablo Cruise reaction. And gents, you didn't disappoint! For me this song is magical, and the beat you're hearing/ feeling is Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" which was released in '77, LWFAW came out in '78. Almost back to back, it's a winning beat imo. So glad it made your playlist! ✌️ ☮️
A sadly overlooked group - great band with lots of cool music! Check out "Tell Me That You Love Me". Definitely Yacht Rock.
I'd agree with putting this song in the Yacht Rock genre.
Hey guys, it's Yacht Rock at it's Best, don't overthink it...
It is, what it is.
A Place In The Sun is another Pablo Cruise song you should listen to.
Totally agree!
Great song. Very uplifting. (I’ll go weeks without listening to you guys, then you hit a banger like this and I’m like…damn, I love these boys!)
Sanford Townsend Band - Smoke From A Distant Fire.... You'd like that if you like this vibe
Agreed! It's one of my absolute favorite one-hit wonders, and right up Ryan, Nick (and Ty's) alley.
"Love Will Find a Way" is their best hit, in my opinion. Glad it was the choice you made for a first listen of the band. Pablo Cruise's other hits might even be softer soft rock, but they have several catchy songs, such as "Whatcha Gonna Do?" and "Don't Want to Live Without It" and the kinda really rather cheesy "I Go to Rio" (my second-favorite Pablo Cruise song 🙂 ... after listening to it, you'll be singing it all day long in your head and won't be able to escape it. LOL).
I played this album a million times, I'll have to go dig it out since I now have a brand new turntable. Glad you both enjoyed this great tune ! 😊
Great reaction guys! Love this song brings back memories. This has a Rock/Disco feel. Smooth song, love the Bass ❤️
Hands down 2 best Yacht Rock
1) Ozark Mountain Daredevils- Jackie Blue
2) Dobie Gray- Drift Away
drift away is like country folk
@@jamiedimond9419 It is but for whatever reason is marketed and played on adult contemporary stations
My sweetie loves Pablo Cruise. Our 15th anniversary is tomorrow, so this one’s for her!
Biggest problem with this song is that it’s too short. Gotta put it on repeat 🔥❤️
For some reason: this song always reminded me of summer on the lake.....SUCH A GREAT TUNE!! Thanks for bringing back GREAT MEMORIES, GUYS!! HUGS, YA'LL!! GREAT REACTION!
That's one tasty guitar solo...from a heavy blues rock guy.
You guys are a TRIP!!! Pablo Cruise was a great band. I saw them in concert, and with all things being equal, it definitely was TOP 5. Check out the songs "Runnin'" or "Raging Fire."
From a time when musicians were great and vocalists actually sang!!🤘🤘
I adore Pablo Cruise. Still have a t-shirt with one of their logos on it. I wish I had an original from the 70s, one of the shiny ones.
Nick is everything! “Where have you been, Papí??”
Can you sign my next “Peace Out” hoodie? PLEASE?!?
Gulf shores!!I'm your Montgomery viewer
Had a yellow Pablo Cruise t shirt in high school. Wore it out. 😅
It’s yacht rock to me. This song is seriously good. Definitely going to be playing this for a while. I think you would make a lot of people happy if you did a month-long yacht rock marathon.
Did you guys have a couple before recording? You seem to be having an exceptionally good time tonight. Love it when you get a little wacky.
Awesome tune, dirty guitar licks... Boz-like voice as well!!! Damn!!!! Been a while since I've heard this CLASSIC.....
Before this even started, i thought " they are gonna love this"
You need to react to Boz Skaggs other great song "Lido Shuffle", you'll like it!
Next one up needs to be .."what you gonna do" another great song
Cool love is my favorite!
OOOuuuu...Papi Pablo!
I was 10 in mid 70's I didn't always understand the songs or the sound of the music back then.(AM mono Radio). I had a wonderful childhood. Now I appreciate the songs, sounds, and skills of that era. It would be so cool to time travel, even if it were for a short time.Just to experience my life back then and understand life.
I remember it from the magnificent seventies. From the opening note, you can just surf that rhythmic bass line right through the whole tune. Smooth and pleasant with a funky kick and a mellow groove.
I had my fingers crossed that you might give us an Al Stewart reaction for Christmas.
I think they fell out of love with Al due to the last 2 reactions they did. Maybe we just need to give them some more good titles of Al's to check out. Personally, when I want to hear something joyful, I re-watch their reactions to Year of the Cat, Time Passages, and Song on the Radio.
@@TallyDrake I think they’ll fall back in line with “On The Border “ should they decide to hit it.
Ok now do Little River Band “Reminiscing” and “Cool Change”
They recently did Reminiscing with Ty.
@@TallyDrake yes and my comment was posted before that video was released
@@AP-sg2ut Yes, I realized that later. Sorry.
Check out “Watcha Gonna Do” and “Place in the Sun” from the album of the same name. 🔥👏
Oooh, can’t wait… that’s an awesome song!
The middle of this song has always reminded me of sausalita summer nights... That's one you ought to check out. You talk about a fun one!!
These guys got heavy radio play in the late 70's! Great reaction!
An unexpected Yacht Rock song is by the Carpenters and called A Song For You - Lyric Video!😮😊
"Don't Want to Live Without It" is a great percussion earworm as well!
Until 2020, they were touring with 3 out of 4 of the same members since 1973. They still have Dave Jenkins and Corey Lerios( who wrote the Baywatch theme song), both original members. The drummer ( steve price) was the star of the show, and even with cancer in 2019, did an unbelievable performance, the last time i saw them live.
"A Place In the Sun", "Zero to Sixty in Five" (an instrumental), "I Go to Rio" are all excellent.
I'm thinking if I ever heard this jam before. Get back to you on this one. I remember now. Yeah.
This is one of the first 7" singles I bought as a kid in the '70s! Absolutely love it. Saw them live a couple months ago and they were outstanding!
70’s California that’s all I can say.
Yacht Rock!
Stevie Wonder was real 70’s and tops in popularity then..song you were thinking of is by captain and Tennille..love will keep us together
So there I was thinking - Pablo Cruz? Never heard of them. But as soon as I heard the first few bars I realised I have heard it many times on the radio. Great choice. And yes, Ty would like it I'm sure. Can just see him nodding along. Miss you Ty.
This band was referred to as the summer band, as their hits always seemed to come out that time of year.
I apologize if it's been brought up in the past by other posters, but there's an interesting multi-part documentary series about "soft rock"/"Yacht Rock" released in the last year or two. It's called "Sometimes When We Touch," based on the hit ballad of that era with the same name from the singer Dan Hill. There is a nice mix of past (musicians and bands on this channel) and current artists as interview subjects. Some of the best moments seem to come when recent or current artists talk about the "soft rock"/"Yacht Rock" songs they secretly liked when they were younger. Definitely worth the "first episode test."
This song was most definitely played on R n B stations where i lived in Northern California
Nice that you finally found this song ... PLAYLIST !
NOW ... we need ALOT MORE LINDA RONSTADT !!!
Yes to yacht rock, with Motown thrown in (You know that it’s all right, all right). Nice blend of both.
Thanks guys! I’ve always loved Pablo Cruise.
Hi Ryan! Hi Nick!
To help you out and answer your question- it is not a steel guitar.
BUT, the tone you like, Ryan, is from an electric guitar. You get that slightly twangy, drawn out nice sound, which is similar to, but less pronounced than a steel guitar, when you BEND the string (usually just 1 string, but not always). You can bend multiple strings.
And when you bend a string, you're either pushing it up towards your head, or pulling it down towards your toes.
Determining which way, depends on the written music/the string you're dealing with, or, what particular sound you're going for.
It's not hard to do. Once you build up your calluses, you won't even notice. But the more strings you bend at once, the harder it is to do. And the thicker the strings are, (bass note strings E A D) the harder it is, to bend more than one.
For a really EXCELLENT example, watch: Stevie Ray Vaughan play "Texas Flood" LIVE @ the El Mocambo.
When you hear that sound, look at his fingers, and you'll see him 'bending' a string.
Hope that helps!
Great reaction keep at it!👍🏼
Such a great feel good song. Uplifting.
I LOVE this song, and it will remain an all time favorite.
Definitely do "Whatcha Gonna do" by them next. It's even better. Also, do Eagles - "Those Shoes."
Those shoes! 🔥🔥
I suggested this one a long time ago. I knew you guys would appreciate it. ❤
I'm sure it's the late 70s and this dude with the big, fluffy hair is definitely on the playlist.
Love this song and what a fantastic band!
We had the best jams, creative writing, and greatest musicians.
Fun memories of early teens!! ❤🎉
I remember catching Pablo Cruise on NBC's 1978 Christmas at Disney World special. What a weird decade that was.
Must hear whatcha gonna do when she says goodbye a kick in your butt instrumental and voice groove that will have your heart racing these fellows are awesome for sure 1970s had some of thr very best recordings!
Never Heard this before - it seems to me to be a mixture of Mowtown, Steely Dan & Northern Soul.
YES!! It's Yacht Rockie!!!!
It's nice to hear it when I have speakers better than I ever had in my cars, back in the day. And with my newer appreciation for bass.
Sandals, jeans and Hawaiian shirts, bitchin hair! Island vibes.
Oh my word you guys are too funny!!! Btw I played this 45 to death, awesome song
What”Cha gonna do it’s another great one but yes, I love Pablo Cruz on my playlist, of course
I love you guys and your reactions! As soon as the song started you loved it…Nick, you had the biggest smile I knew you would! That smooth soft rock is the best!! I think you were both born in the wrong decade 😘YES TO YACHT ROCK!
It's fun watching you guy's reactions on a lot of my favorite songs.
Boy that one brings back memories...all in a good way. Can't go wrong with Pablo Cruise.
Guys, this is absolutely a Yacht Rock classic! They have so many great songs in that genre. "Sailing To Paradise" is another amazing song. "Don't Want To Live Without It", "Whatcha Gonna Do"...This band has a Steely Dan-meets-Doobies vibe.
🎉 2023 is ending strong 🎉
Had the eight track my son has it now
A lot of guys drove brown Ford Pintos with Hawaiian print curtains and 8 track players with CB radios!
This is what John Travolta (AKA Tony Manero Listened to before he went to and after he got back from the 😎disco Clubs).
This is the quintessential example of yacht rock
Have to play
I go to Rio it’s fire 🔥
Will Ferrell’s Step Brothers shirt!
My mother absolutely loved this song, I really liked it too.
It will forever remind me of her.
Great song and good reaction.
That "someone" at the beginning was always sounded super sexy to me.
Funny you mentioned Love will keep us together. Back then we used to go to the public pool in our town. The summer that song came out, it was the only song that we heard the whole time we were there.
Not an exaggeration or joke.
For years I wouldn't listen to the song because I was so tired of it.
