Seeing this video makes me wish that these engines were still offered in the United States. I was one of the few that kept my Jetta TDI. Love that car.
@@honesthamish5334 Well they were up until 2016. After that our ritious and all knowing EPA (insert sarcasm here) outlawed them for sale. So you can buy an older model, but not a new 2021 like this one. It sucks that VW cheated the emissions and was slammed for it but if you look into it, Harley Davidson did the exact same thing with their bikes for a while. Yet there is some sort of bias towards American made products even though pretty much every American designed and manufactured car and truck is a pile of planned obsolescence shit. Edit: Damn sorry for the rant, but now you know how I feel.
To me, the TSI version is pretty much the ideal daily driver with a couple of mods. Firstly, wheels and tires should be swapped out for actual 20's (they're the 21 suzukas on your car) with a particular tire size so curbing rims isn't an issue and secondly a remap (revo or other brand) pushing the hp from 340ish to over 400 and torque similar rise in numbers. Means it's fairly quick, comfy as hell, fits 5 at a push but 4 people in comfort, big boot, decent stereo and infotainment and it's a VW so won't fall to pieces on the first day home.
The car there is £62900 odd otr, not £52k, as someone else said, the wheels are 21" not 20, it is the black edition which is one off top spec now the 'R' has been released. The button on the steering wheel is to set a distance from the car in front, not the actual cruise control button. To select where the air flows from the vents, press the big button on the screen labeled 'Air Con'. I appreciate that all sounds a bit critical but if you want to do car review videos, you gotta get the basics right fella, especially things like price and dimensions. Not a bad video but a bit more research before filming would have made it better.
@@honesthamish5334 Was this actually your car, or a loaner? Seriously considering buying a 2019 R-Line Tech. The XC90 interior looks very dated to me now (infortainment especially), same with the Disco. Q7 and X5 are contenders but I would want the newer models which put them £10K higher than the Touareg. Where would you put your money today?
@@RocketBadger This was just a Loan car for the weekend, I agree with regards to the interior of the Volvo as for me the exterior is very sleek but interior not so much... Audi Q7 interiors are better but still don't have the brand new interface Audi has implemented with screens everywhere and a very modern feel in the newer models... I'm not a big fan of BMW's so I cant say to many positive things regarding them.. there infotainment is the best around that's the only positive for me.. The Touareg from my experience is a great valued vehicle...large road presence, modern and smart interior.. not as good as a mercedes but then the price you pay would suggest that.. the drive ability of the Touareg is brilliant.. so my suggestion would be to go with the Touareg due to alot of factors! I hope this helps 👍
Just wish it said from the start ( standing review ) after finding out about the drive and it would have saved me 10 minutes, informative though even given that some of the information was incorrect.
This is a really nice SUV, I'm driving a 'prestige' one, fully satisfied...Audi Q8 doesn't come with 'central lane keeping function' in South Korea, my home, even though it's far more expensive than the Touareg. Does the British version come with 'active roll stabiliser'? Only V8 model has that feature in Korean version..
@@blue-ck9ns Well in that case there's the Phaeton, Arteon, CC, and Atlas. Just to name a few. VW in and of themselves is not considered a luxury brand even though they make near-luxury cars. Bentley, Audi, and Bugatti are their real luxury brands.

I was unaware they weren't offered to people in America why is this?

I agree
Nice! But model you have there starts from £61k not £52k (which is the basic model).
And the boot isn't 500 litre, it's 810
Hey, what sort of mpg are you likely to get.
Wooooow I want this in the USA right meow !!!!!!
8:04 - it would be nice if you had your watch on the correct way round😉
That would make reading the time easy 👀👀
500L boot space? I thought it was over 800L?
Your correct, I may have got it wrong by 300L 🙈

I would probably say the Audi Q5 with regards to spec and price
@@honesthamish5334 that the same like Audi Q8

Initially it would have been the XC90 bit after reviewing the Touareg my opinion has been swayed... I would rather have the Touareg now 👍
Now about to order one just cant decide on colour? White black or silver?

For 52 k it's a bargain in terms of what you get

By this I meant the fact it can scratch so easily... its looks good on the eye untill the inevitable happens and withings a few months its scratched 🙈
