Great review Nobby! Some bus! Having said that it'd be too expensive for me. I'll be honest also and say I don't see the point of performance SUVs, if I was going for performance it'd be a hot hatch I'd go for purely for the obvious handling reasons.
Brilliant review. Hope VW sorted prop shaft issues they had on old standard Toureg. Lovely looking car. Pricey though.

Mark. Another spot on review. Immense! In every sense. As many of the comments, he point of performance SUVs? H'mmm. That said the VW is probably the best. Certainly beats the ridiculous Bentley 'look at me with all my dosh and zero taste'.. Indeed even it's 'sister' Audi SQ7. Why spend anymore than you could buy a terrace house in NW England? Just!
It is a really good looking SUV. If that is possible. The more 'standard' models are becoming a bit of a 'landed' gentry farmer and indeed the horsey set vehicle. Does it not have a clever 'park a trailer' mode? Surely the R Line is the sweet spot?

Hi Nobby. I drive a Mazda cx30 with loads of safety features, including blind spot monitoring. Now , there is no way on earth I could afford this thing. But I just couldn't drive a car without blind spit monitoring anymore. How a 90 grand car hasn't got that pretty basic safety feature is beyond me....great review..cheers
Totally agree with you, I got a second hand volvo v90 cross country up North in july 2020, it has blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, collision avoidance, semi autonomous driving and with the exception of the latter I just couldnt go back to not having those now. It staggers me they arent standard on every new car now bar maybe absolute basic spec models. They make far more sense than bigger alloys or a virtual dash.
Drove it from Bilbao to Porto and back this year and those features where life savers, especially driving for so long on the 'wrong' side of the road in a right hand drive car. Its a joke these features arent the first thing added to a car.
Air ride suspension is great until you have to repair the system

I love the rugged look of this but the XC90 probably has a bit more space. I think I’d go this using my heart.
What's the Ambient lighting like inside? - no harm in throwing an internal night view be it inside a garage or something for a few minutes
