    My dad has really curly afro hair when he was younger and through out his 20’s then he shaved it all of and has been since he had me at 30. And i have the worst frizz and the neck/lower later of my hair is so so curly like i used a tight curling wond, and i always just straighen it, imma try this out and see if it does something for me!

    I have very curly, fine hair. Plopping doesn't work because when I take the tee off my hair, my hair doesn't fall. It just stays up and when I try to pull it down... well you know what happens when you mess with damp, curly hair. You have to have some thickness and weight to your hair or it won't work.

    Need some help with this - hair isn’t as thin or tightly curled like hers but when I do this method, still takes ages to dry. If I take it out wet it’s gorgeously curled until I flip my head over and all the curls separate and get all messed up. Any help?

      Just FYI - don't use a rinse out conditioner as a leave-in. It isn't PH balanced for use as a leave-in. Do you remember the "wash your hair with baking soda" craze a few years back? Well, the proponents of it didn't mention that the hair needed to be rinsed with vinegar (apple cider vinegar is best) to bring the hair back to the proper PH balance. So people who were using just the baking soda, their hair was basically falling apart and they were going bald! While it may not be quite that dramatic but why take chances? My husband was using conditioner as a leave-in and I can tell you his hair is a Lot thinner now than it was several years ago.

    Do you have naturally curly hair before the plop?

    • @Maddy-cl7qw
      @Maddy-cl7qw 5 лет назад +1

      you can't do that with straight hair. so the technique just helps you to enhance your curls. If you don t have natural curls it doesn't work. Also if you have wet hair and your hair is curly thats always natural.

      I know this is an old post but in case anybody else might be interested - don't sleep with wet hair. That's a good way to set up a fungal infection on the scalp, and for hygral fatigue. Instead, plop for about 20 minutes, let (or blow) dry, sleep in the crunch. In the morning, mist lightly, let dry, and then scrunch out the reformed crunch.

    Hi there!
    I was wondering if you diffused your hair or air dried for the final product?

  • @rachels.1245
    @rachels.1245 7 лет назад

    Your videos have great content. So basically the point of plopping is to reduce dry time and frizz, correct? How long did it take your hair to air dry after the plop? I'm transitioning back to my natural curls in the winter and the dry time is forever and freezing! Ha ha. I've tried diffusing with low heat and the low setting and that takes forever too. Any other tricks you do to help w drying time in the winter?

    • @CurlBombcom-dn6cj
      @CurlBombcom-dn6cj  7 лет назад +1

      Rachel S. I feel your pain! ideally the longer you can leave the t-shirt on the better for drying-you can press the t-shirt with your palms to help absorb more of the water, or sometimes I cheat and blow dry over the t-shirt itself whilst it's still on my hair. But unfortunately, other than just diffusing your hair (which I try to avoid as it just frazzles my hair) I often have cold wet hair during the winter
      :( The t-shirt really helps reduce frizz, and should give you lovely defined curls. Hope this helps!

      CurlBomb. com thank you so much for your response! I will give the tshirt a try. I'm glad to know I'm not alone with the frustration of air drying in the winter.
