  • This is a video showing how I sleeping with the curls overnight when my hair is wet. This is helpful if I know I will be pressed for time in the morning but I still want my hair done or what I do if I end up showing at night and wash my hair. I do this instead of pineappling.
    The towel I used is from Lakeshore Dry Goods

    I'm a night showerer and my hair looks so pretty after my shower, but then I sleep on my curls and my hair just looks awful when I wake up, I do the pineapple technique and it doesn't seem to make my curls pretty when they dry overnight. Thanks for this video!! I'm also going to look into getting one of those hair towels. :)

    Tried this and made sure I didn’t squish down any important parts. It worked!! I just have one of those cotton hair towels that has a button closure. It fell off in the wee hours of this morning, but my curls still look great! It was damp (which I used to think was a bad thing since I expected it to be dry and perfect after sleeping in plops) so I diffused it right away, added a little water/mousse to the weird parts and frizzy ends.. voila! Looks great! Thanks for the tutorial!

      My problem is that I have a cow lick in the back, top of my head (where a pony tail would normally sit), that makes me look like I'm balding. I am still struggling eith how to make that go away. All I know to do now is use a claw-style clip, and pull half my hair back. But I don't like to do that.

As you can see from my picture I straighten my hair and have done for about 10 years because my natural waves are horrible and frizzy but I didn't realise that was because of products 😞 so I'm watching lots of videos because I am ditching my straightener 😁 yours just came up as a recommendation and I love it!! Great idea. I’m a night shower person with fine curly hair. Trying this out tonight so I hope it works out. I don’t pineapple as it pulls my curl out at the root. I’ve been living in Dutch braids for ages now as it’s a wear to bed and still ok for the morning style for me. My plopping towel is too short so I’ve got a very fine/thin cotton scarf on. It’s not tied I just tucked the ends in so I hope it lasts.

    Its basically a wash now, style later technique. U can't just wake up, take off a bonnet, and go. It's a pretty significant refresh when you pull out a diffuser. But you have lovely hair, so you seem to know how to manage it very well no matter what you choose to do!

    I tried sleeping in the crunch for the first time and it actually turned out better than I thought it would, for my hair since it's more wavy. It has a little more curl than usual. The only thing is, I need to get a diffuser. And I used a cotton t-shirt instead of the towel...gotta work with what you have. The look my dog gave me was great lol. Twisting my locks also helps create curls that don't wanna curl. Thanks for the video! Sleeping in it is going to be a game changer for me!

    Your result is amazing! I'll try this; but I have long, think hair with high porosity. Putting it up in a towel will take at least a day to dry. Depending on how I pin my hair up when it's wet, it can take almost 2 days to dry. If I used this method, I'd have to partially dry my hair before plopping. I only hope my hair looks as good as yours.

    I do plop but never at night. I’ve read it can cause mildew issues if you have high porosity hair. It’s takes so long for my hair to dry that keeping it plopped all night would definitely cause issues! I wish it was an option because I do tend to shower at night rather than the morning.

    So glad I found this video, my hair is so similar to yours. I don’t have a lot of it but it’s wavy and a bit frizzy. I’ve also never thought to use a pick.
    Thank you so much! ☺️

    A lifesaving, or hair saving video for me. I have been tempted to chop it all off all year. Ten years ago my curly hair was so easy to get my curls. My curls used to be pencil sized when I would go out. My hair has changed again, so my old techniques don't work any longer. I will definitely try this when I can find my long hair towel. I may have to get a longer one. What blow dryer and diffuser did you use? I used to dry my hair using a small space heater that had just a slight bit of air flow. I could never get a diffuser to stop frizzing my hair. Your blow dryer also sounded quiet like my heater does. Thank you for the video.

    Try using a cream in lieu of gel... a texture cream made for your curls but will help hold the curls and smells great! My favorite for my fine/wavy hair is Loma- Calming Cream for anti-frizz :)

      Creams don’t do so well on my hair. Many weigh my hair down. I will use serums tho!

    Thanks for the advise, from a night shower-er, and lazy morning styler (and I love diffusing). I think my hair is very similar to yours (thin hair, top curls lik like yours, but my underneath curls are very limp, nearly non-existent).
    I'd like to know the products you use.

    What's with all these people scared of toilet lid germs? Do they not clean, or flush with the lid closed? Yuck.
    I tried this once and my hair was still soaking wet in the morning! What a waste of yime. Idk how you gals do it.

    • @TheCleanCurl
      @TheCleanCurl  6 лет назад +18

      Lithostoic I totally agree with you. The toilet comments are killing me lol. Also I prefer a thinner towel like this one and I’d rather my hair be a bit wet cuz I’ll diffuse it in the morning. When it comes out too dry it’s too smashed looking. So if it’s too dry I have to rewet it. Of it comes out pretty damp I can diffuse it and it comes out much fresher looking. It’s really more of a hair saver if you dont have as much time in the morning or you HAVE to shower at night and you don’t know what to do with your hair.

      Lithostoic is just try an old t shirt if you can but yes I can see a cut bedsheet working well so you can tie the ends easier

      Deliah Gray So you're telling me with the lid CLOSED, toilet bacteria somehow sprays on TOP of the lid? I own a blacklight and I can tell you my bathroom is very clean. And yeah, we do bleach it every time we use it. Takes 5 seconds.

      @@Lithostoic It sounds like you said that just to argue. Who cleans up under the latches and everything EVERY time? Especially if you live with a man. He does it too? Just as thoroughly? Give me a break. Using the toilet seat is nasty, period.

      Lithostoic You use bleach EVERY time you use the toilet.....? That is not healthy. Not for you and not this planet.

    Try dove whipped mousse. It will change your life. Changed mjne! And it doesn't leave my hair crunch at all like gel will

      It makes such fluffy but strong hold curls but everyone is different! The good thing about dove is its $3.99

    Do you shower every night, if not how do you keep your curls looking fabulous throughout the week

    • @mollythomas7049
      @mollythomas7049 5 лет назад +12

      Get a silk pillowcase, they preserve curls and prevent frizz. Cotton pillowcases absorb all of the moisture on your scalp. You can also mist your hair in the morning to reset it if you shower at night. Sleeping with a loose braid is very nice too. Dry shampoo is also a lifesaver if you have an oily scalp and plan on showering at nights or less than every day. Hope this was helpful!

    • @addierehm1111
      @addierehm1111 5 лет назад +4

      I shower every night and only actually shampoo once a week and just put conditioner in my hair the rest of the time. My hair needs that reset every day because it's short. Once it gets longer I just pull it up in a scrunchie in the shower or use a shower cap and mist with leave in conditioner before I put on a sleeping bonnet and go to bed.

    This was so helpful and your curls look beautiful! I’ve been plopping with a T-shirt and my biggest problem is the front of my hair ending up flat. Which products do you use and what type of towel is it? Thanks!
