- If you have any sort of texture in your hair, you've got to give this technique a try!
While I prefer to blowout my hair and have it more "styled" this is a great option for days you want to rock your natural wave or curl!
*THIS IS JUST A METHOD I HAVE FOUND HELPFUL. IT IS NOT THE ONLY PLOPPING WAY. Everyone's hair is different! Have fun figuring out what works for your hair!*
Sorry for all the sound and volume variances! When you edit a video while parenting a toddler, these things happen! Thanks for your grace. :)
I don't have curly hair but i do have frizzy hair.
And this technique works perfectly on my hair as well
Thanks😊❤
LOL. 🤣That dog looks comfy as Hell.🐶🛏

As a curly guy, this was very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the video!! Its a great help, I'll be using this for now on, after hearing that using a normal towel numerous times, i was always curious of how to acctually dry my hair with a towel, and this video was perfect to rid of my curiouness
I APPRECIATE YOU DUDE 💞
I like to put some hair oil first, after the shower and before the plopping, it defines my wavy hair more and limits damage/frizz. For damaged hair and/or dandruff, do an (olive or
coconut or almond) oil mask at least an hour before the shower, it helps a lot!
I have never seen a a plop like that! are you doing curly girl? I just started and struggling to find other people with actually wavy hair for tips. I'm struggling with the "transition" phase of the cg method. glad I ran into this vid. thanks for the advice!
LaVida
I know the feeling. I’ve done the curly girl method for a while and found that (for me) there’s just too many rules to break. So I created my own curly lifestyle that worked for me. 🙃💖
I style my hair with those techniques- t-shirt & diffuser-, I use DevaCurl low poo Delight and their Delight conditioner but I also use an anti-hair loss shampoo and conditioner as well which is not totally sulphate free and I cocktail a mousse that does have dimethicones with my curl creams. It works for me and my mousse does not dry out my hair nor does the “dimethicones” in the product coat and choke the life out of my hair. 👌
My hair is so fine and flat that I can’t “NOT” shampoo my hair. I only use top quality salon products in my hair. Also I need volumizing products in my hair which have to be activated by heat in order to work. I don’t need to use HOT air, just warm and then cool. 👍
Long story short, if, for some reason you find it too difficult to abide by ALL the rules, it’s ok. 😊
Find a technique that makes you and your hair happy. It’s your hair! ❤️
And also not to say that, because you may have wavy hair, the CG method won’t work for you. It might be the best thing yet! 😉
I actually do not do curly girl. i like some of the cg methods, but i don't think the cg method is for everyone. personally, my hair is just too fine for it.
Jenn Hunter YESS! Same. 😆
as a guy in lockdown who's growing unruly hair and has minimal haircare products, this video was a lifesaver haha Fabio locks here we come xD
Thank you, your video was definitely informative, and the method seems like it's worth a try, for the sake of a healthier, more natural and more practical routine. The only thing about the video that bothered me a little bit were the big variations in audio volume throughout, otherwise, keep up the good work!
Thanks! still learning, and only filming from my old iphone, so i know there's room to improve. Thanks for your feedback!
Thank you! This was a huge help! I'm trying it today. :)
Thanks for this. Started growing out my hair, noticed the bottom is wavy/curly where I don't blow dry properly. Gonna see if this can give me that all over.
Did it work for you? Just found the video and going to try it tomorrow morning.
Two things: did you rinse your conditioner out of hair after combing it? Or is this a leave-in conditioner?
Also, is that a Wheaten Terrier?
Thanks for the tutorial!
This in my shower routine ✨✨
i’m not sure what type of hair i have, it’s wavy when dry but super curly when it’s wet? i have no idea haha
I find combing my hair in the shower kills my curls. Aside from that this works great :))
U shouldnt shampoo 3 times 1 is enough. You're drying ur hair out.
thanks for you concern, but as a licensed professional, i can assure you, i'm not drying my hair out. It's important not to strip you're hair, you're correct. but using the right product/quality shampoo, and following with a quality conditioner are huge factors in being able to thoroughly clean your hair without drying it out.
Depends if it's organic shampoo etc and the like..
will a microfiber hair towel work instead of a t shirt?
Maybe. It depends on your hair. When I use a microfibre towel for more then 20min, my curls get stringy and frizzy. I just use it for a max of 20mins, when I got little time for diffusing my curls.
I don't wash my hair everyday, does that mean i cant brush my hair until my next wash?
I’d do it with a wet brush because it has softer bristles, I’d put product in your hair, and do it in the evening :)
If you put your hair up at night, it’s a lot better and you likely won’t need to brush it in between
How did I get here?
Also, why use a t-shirt over a towel?
Hi I was just wondering how often you can plop your hair a week? I can’t find the answer anywhere!! Thank you xx
Lucy Laura I actually blow out my hair more often than not because I work in the beauty industry and want to have my hair done. But I plop maybe twice a month
Are there any downsides to plopping every time one washes their hair, though? It doesn't seem likely.
Evelyn Lima No there’s no reason to not do it, it’s not damaging as long as you’re doing it correct. A lot of people even do this after their nighttime shower and sleep on it.
Every time you wash or get your hair wet! You should be only using sulfate free shampoo and that should still only be twice a week. You can conditioner wash your hair as often as you like tho. Always rinse hair with cold water at the end of a shower
does this cause dandruff?
Will it work on straight hair?
People are complaining because the title say this is a tutorial for plopping when it isn't plopping the normal way. It should at least say that in the description for those who don't know wtf plopping even is.
Willl this work with wavy hair ??? My hair is not naturally curly but I want to try this
It would ! She have wavy hair and it works she doesn’t have curly hair .
Could I use a bandana instead of a T-shirt?
A Jersey-like material so what I’ve found to work best, but I think a bandana would work fine!
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
You have great curls you should look into the curly girl method
Thanks for your kind words! I'm actually not a huge fan of the curly girl method for myself. My hair is a little to fine, and the cg method is just too head a method for my hair.
Couldnt figure out exactly how you grabbed the shirt couldnt do it i must be stupid
Not at all! Just find what works for you and keep practicing! 🤍
I've got very curly hair, and one of the first things I've learned is you should absolutely not shampoo your hair two or three times!! I'd recommend using a cowash instead of any shampoo. Heat in any form is very bad for your hair. I'd also recommend using the product before plopping.
If I use straight hair will I ruin it?
Nope! Give it a shot!
Hey there,
I recommend not shampooing at all. It really does dry out your hair completely unnecessarily. I know it seems like it wouldn't clean your hair but I've been only conditioning for over a year; and I have fine, thin hair, which is very quick to get oily. Curly or wavy hair requires more moisture than mine so you'll be fine. If I feel like my hair is particularly grungy I just condition twice. You won't be sorry!
Eli Peart I’m glad you’ve found a solution that works for your hair! Unfortunately for many, that is not the case - everyone sebaceous glands produce different amounts of oils, which can be regulated to some extent, but the right shampoo and still be very conditioning while also cleansing.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Jenn Hunter Agreed, girl👌🏼
Eli Peart does your hair get greasy, because mine does??
Alice Olsen Smith because I have thin, fine hair, my hair is very prone to getting greasy and I used to not be able to go more than every other day between washes at the very most. Since I stopped using shampoo I can go three days and still be able to eat it down. If my hair is very dirty then one round of conditioner may not be enough. So, I give my hair a little sub with just water, them conditioner, then fully rinse, and condition again. This has always done the job for me.
I don’t understand, you say this is great because coming into summer and don’t want to use a blow dryer- then proceed to use the blow dryer in the demonstration.
Diffusing is simply an option. You don’t have to use one! Hope you found it helpful!
great video! thank you!
I feel like your comb is too fine-toothed and you combed out all of your curls.
For someone with looser curls, that might affect it. It seems to do fine for me - everyone’s hair is different!
nooo dont use your fingers so much its actually going to cause more frizz
Thank you.
Honey, there is a way easier way to plop your hair 😂 watch Penny Tovar
Shanda, there are many ways! As a licensed cosmetologist , I'd be foolish to think that there is one way to do a technique - everyone has different abilities and what's easy for one person may not be easy for another, or may not work the same. I'm so glad you've found a way that works for you!
Is your hair even curly? It just looks like straight hair that’s been scrunched up.
Tic Tac she definitely falls on the curly hair spectrum, maybe 2a - 2b. Remember not to judge others waves or curls!
Mines the same way
it's wavy, that's what she said.....straight hair would not be anywhere near as curly as hers is scrunched up.....why do people always have to hate on people with wavy hair, so stupid
duncnansty I agree
Oh chill. Its wavy. Its not all straight or curly
Okay, but what if you don't use conditioner at all? And does this cause wet scalp, thus itchy scalp?
No itchy scalp if you dry/diffuse your roots.
I always recommend conditioner, even if you use it before shampooing. But do what works for you! If your hair isn’t tangled after only shampooing, great!
