Awe something about Button input codes gives me some serious nostalgia.
It truly is a bygone era. I still have the one for DKC3 memorized lol
L R R L R R L R L R and then you can enter things like MUSIC or HARDR or TUFST or, my personal favorite, MERRY
Ah, yes. Especially the ones that spell out words using the button letters, like BARACUDA (B, A, Right, A, C, Up, Down, A) in Sonic 3D Blast, or AXELWAX (Triangle, Cross, East(right), Left, West(left), Triangle, Cross) in Crash Team Racing.

You spell barral on the controller I believe it gives you 99 lives.
I love how Nintendo themselves have shown an infinite lives exploit.
While also just giving you save states and a rewind feature making them pointless.

Yeah, all the DKC secret cheat codes spell out phrases.
In DKC1 there are two more: "Darby day" and "bad buddy."
Now I'm upset that I didn't notice...
In the xbox 360 version of the orange box, in portal 1, Theres a cheat code to spawn a cube. the cheat is “Down B-A-B-Y, Down -B-A-B-Y” Iv’e been trying to figure out if that was intentional for years, and if so, what’s it in reference to?
I know This is hardly relevant to the comment but I thought i’d bring it up.
Hint for 101% completion:
In the Level "Oil Drum Alley" there's a bonus room where you have to hit 3 single bananas in order to get a barrel - you MUST use that barrel within that same room to open a hidden path on the right wall and getting 1 additional percent.
If you miss that, you'll be locked to 100% and can't get it again
You can get it, just re-enter the stage? Also you need to carry the barrel with diddy and jump to the wall on the right so Diddy goes into the next room right away, otherwise the bonus ends when the barrel breaks.
@@Mohammedius I'm pretty sure you can re-enter it but won't get the additional percentage for completion.
I still remember trying to complete oil drum alley and it was bs. It took me a month or 2 to find and FINALLY I got 101%. Definitely not worth it lmaoo

Rare made some of the best games back in the 90s until 2001/2. I wish Nintendo bought them back, they could’ve done better than we get now from them on Xbox and PC

An Exclamation Point at the end of the level's name means that you've 100% Completed It including finding all Bonus Rooms where possible.

I've first played the game at it's release and have never known about it.
Oml you’re a lifesaver I’ve just been going through the whole game over and over again blindly trying to find the bonuses I haven’t found yet.
@@mohamedk.4485 101% has one specific level where there is a bonus room within a bonus room.
It is also a missable percentage so if you really want that 101% I'd advise you to at least look up that single bonus room or you'll "only" reach 100%

It is the best DK game EVER! As well as one of the absolute best platformers on any Nintendo console or handheld!!
They have to, they're going to get more requests to add it from the majority of fans and esp the ones who are happy on getting the first, Nintendo would make lots of more revenue for NSO and the SNES Online app as a whole just by adding THAT game, not doing that is a disappointing missed opportunity, like the SNES Classic, only including DKC1 but not the rest.

One of my favourite cheats in the DKC series is the one "COLOR" code in DKC3. If you enter it before creating a file, Dixie's clothes will be purple & Kiddy's will be green throughout the entire game. I really love that feature.
I still remember the “cheat” code for SNES Donkey Kong Country 3, pressing L R R L R R L R L R at the starting screen, then entering different words like lives or coins. So excited DKC is coming to Online; the DKC games were my absolute favorites on SNES!

I think just giving you a few hints is alright. If they had revealed all, people would be complaining at them.
You can only leave a level by pressing start then select if you have already beat that level. The Fear Factory bonus level within a bonus level pissed me off because I looked up how to 100% the game and Google was like "how to 101% the game." I would have never known without looking it up.

Even if Nintendo doesn't know how to run an online service, they still have tons of respect for their fans. Them adding DKC just shows they were thinking of us, the players.
This game and Panepon were the only worthwhile SNES games they've put out on the service since September.

@@manuelalbertoromero9528 Not really. The logo has been retained in previous releases and It'll be in the intro when it releases on Switch. There's been this huge misconception that Rare owns the IP and they NEVER did. Donkey Kong has always been owned by Nintendo.

Throwback. I remember having to get cheat code magazines to find some of this
I had just gotten internet at home on a 14.4 Kbps modem right after this game was release, and I can remember going online to look up codes for this game as my friend had an SNES, and I was a Genesis kid, and he would bring his SNES over to my house for weekends, since I again had internet we could use at night while everyone else was asleep, and we would not get yelled at for hogging the phone line, and then cheat our way through games, and yes we also used Magazines like Game Pro, EGM, Nintendo Power, etc.. as I had a subscription to Game Pro, and he had Nintendo Power.

I only knew about the diddy lives cheat, and that's it. I didnt even know about the bonus game one! Wow!
I knew about most of these, having read about them in gaming magazines of the day. Had the most fun with the bonus room practice, though.
Looking forward to playing this classic again.
