Great video. I appreciate the extra insights on each color regarding undertones and pairing along with lighting. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I really like that you use drapes the same color as your wall color-this is exactly what I prefer too. I want the drape to blend in rather than standing out.
I love how you described every paint color. This is exactly what I was looking for. Picking a color with the wrong undertone can be an expensive mistake so I appreciate the information. Thank you! You got a new subscriber.

Thanks! Your comment means a lot to me
This is helpful for someone like myself who is frozen in fear over what color paint to choose. ;) What would you say is the difference between SW Colonnade Gray and SW Agreeable Gray? Also I keep hearing gray is on it's way out. By going with a color in the Greiges category, does that help keep the paint color more timeless? If not, what color is the trend moving to?
Thank you for just getting to the point! Much appreciated. I subscribed.😃
Thanks! Glad you liked it
Love the color on the wall behind you!
Thank you!! It's SW Modern Gray
Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Enjoy the information. I am in the process of choosing paint color for my whole house, this video is very helpful. Thank you very much!
Glad it was helpful!
We are renovating a 2003 built home (lots of mustardy yellows, dark creams and drab greens!) and the primary color we chose is a warm white called BM Cloud White. We also considered similar warm white colors such as Simply White, White Dove, and Greek Villa. The key thing is to test samples on your actual walls, in different rooms, and at different times of day and see how they interact with natural light, artificial light, window treatments, floor colors, ceiling color and even outdoor scenery (like trees, which might reflect green into your spaces through the windows). Floor reflection and undertones have a big impact on how paint reads. And of course it’s a deeply personal choice. Another thing we are learning is that multiple shades of paint in the same general color can add depth and interest to a space, eg slightly different shades of white for ceiling, walls, trim, etc. This gives your home a sense of layers and history.
We are learning as we go!
BM Cloud White is a beautiful white, and I'm so glad to hear you tested multiple options. It's truly the best way to ensure you end up with a paint color that will look great with your unique lighting conditions. Sounds like you're making some fantastic design choices!
Very informative and enjoyable to watch, thank you!🌟

Omg u did this vid so good thank u so much your so good at what u do 🖤🖤🖤I totally found my color to update my home!
Yay! Thank you for watching!
I live in the desert southwest and in a very open space. All corners are rounded bullnose, so the main living spaces flow into each other and are blessed with lots of natural light.
The exterior has a Mediterranean vibe and my aim is a very comfortable transitional interior that feels very comforting after entering from 110+temperatures outside. Only permanent color is our new medium/dark bamboo flooring.
Any thoughts? I really need ideas.
You explained each paint color to perfection. 🤌 I appreciate you discussing the undertones and which ones need to be *extra* careful about different lighting and decor choices. Undertones can make or break any color. Very important.
I been check other designs , so far you are the best, thank you , I going check some of the colors here at the store
Thanks for your comment!

Great video! Thanks a lot.
Glad you liked it!
I have chantilly lace in my living dining area and I love the chalkiness of it and the purity.
Awesome! Chantilly Lace is a great paint color.
Did you also paint your baseboards the same color?
Thanks so much for the great overview! I love the white trend for both inside and out. The house we are buying is yellow with navajo white trim. I would love to paint it all white but it will be a huge and expensive job. Wondering if there is an exterior white or greige color you would recommend to replace the yellow that would also coordinate with the current navajo white trim? There is some brown/gray stone on the facade of the house too. Thanks!
Sherwin Williams offers a free color consultation for exterior color advice. I used it and love my new color!
I’m a 33 year old man that is doing a first time DIY project to paint and floor our house and you have no idea how much your video just helped me. I got so overwhelmed with all the gray/beige/greige paints. We are getting the paint from SW and based on your video, I think we’re going to go with the Agreeable Gray as it seems to be a good greige color.
Based off of your video I picked up 3 samples from Lowe’s today (cheap way to get a sample of SW paint to pick out the color. SW doesn’t have samples in our area). Picked up Colannade Gray, Repose Gray and Agreeable Gray. Tried all 3 and Agreeable Gray seems to be the best greige choice.
Great choice! So glad to hear the video was helpful for you.
Professional channel👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
Outstanding review!
Thanks for watching!
As an Interior Designer, I am surrounded by exposed brick.....I live in an English Industrial Rowhouse.....my insperation was the color of the mortar between the bricks.....I chose Valspar's Woodrow Wilson Putty.....very little contrast with the ceiling white....the color of my level loop
carpet was inspired by the outcropping of the foundational stone, exposed in my dining area....just gorgeous....
Sounds like a beautiful home!
Good research.
I live in Colorado too. Our east-west exposures make it easy to be happy with one color choice when one room has a predominant exposure. But picking a color now for a longer room with equal east west windows is challenging.
Yes, that is a challenge! It's usually a safe bet to choose colors that lean slightly warm, over cooler colors, because they tend to work well with fixed materials (like wood flooring) and play nicely with other colors. If you're looking for a versatile whole-house color, try one that sits somewhere near the middle of the warm/cool spectrum (neutral), but leans slightly warm. For example, a greige rather than a gray, or a muted off-white rather than one that leans more yellow. That should work well in a room with both east-west exposure.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Truly enjoyed this video, very informative. New subscriber.
Awesome, thank you!
First, great video. Simple and straight to the point. So I have a gray sofa chaise, accented with blue pillows. Area rug has blue, gray and just a hint of green. So I am thinking Paper White, Classic Gray or Stonington Gray
Great choices with those colors!
ABSOLUTELY fabulous and correct facts.🤣
Thanks for watching!
This was a very informative video. I liked your color selections. I realize that for some white's beiges and grieges can be boring, but they do offer flexibility when decorating I love intense colors, but they can become too much over time. They also require more effort to paint offer. I prefer my intense colors to be in the artwork and furniture etc. I am looking for a warm white other than Navajo White. What would you suggest? Thank you & I have subscribed to your channel.
New.. great job on presentation.
Thank you!
I used BM Grant Beige in my living areas hallways and Kitchen. It's a greige. I used dove white by B. Moore for my trim!!
That's a great combination!
Look at autumnal equinox , beautiful , changes with sunlight.
BM Sugar Cookie OC-93 is a cream color that isn’t white, beige or gray. We used in the the main living areas of our home and I love it! If you chose it, be aware when when first applied it looks bright yellow. I freaked when I first saw it! Three to five days later it looked gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing!!
Waoooooh so beautiful
Newbie Here. Love how you go in depth describing paint choices and add photos. Wish you would of added more SW over all BM imo. However subscribed
Great feedback, and, thanks for subscribing!
Great video , I just recently paint my washroom oak cabinets in BM thunder AF …. Which colour I should go on wall ? In my washroom it’s good size window with lot a morning sun . Plz suggest!!
Awesome
Hi! I have an open concept floor plan. I have chosen some cooler gray paint wall colors but wanted to use Classic Gray for just a bit of warmth. What trim color could I use for both warm and cool paint colors? Thanks!
BM Chantilly Lace is a bright neutral white that works great as a trim color and with both cool and warm hues. You can also give BM Simply White a try. It's a bright, warm white that also works well with a wide range of wall colors.
What would you suggest for a light colour to go with the old honey oak floors?
What is the name of the paint at 2:28? I love this color! I have been trying to match it all day.. It’s just an example for grieges but do you know which specific color it is?
Hi this is great information.. however we have a suite that is a greeny gray at different lighting between day and night . Oak doors and floor is slightly darker as in its walnut. Are you able to suggest a colour please. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for this video! Highly informative. We are planning on painting our house interior walls. Currently, it has Swiss Coffee trims and ceiling and a very ugly brownish tan for walls that I can’t stand (inherited from previous owner). I want to keep the Swiss Coffee trims/ceiling. Which wall colors would you recommend that complements Swiss Coffee since it had yellow and green undertones? Thank you!
Swiss Coffee is quite creamy, so you'll want to be a little selective about your wall colors. You could also paint the walls swiss coffee, if you want to go white. Warm colors will work well, like beiges, greiges, some warm grays. Swiss Coffee also tends to work well with blue-grays and darker blues, though you'll want to sample as cooler colors can amplify the creamy quality of Swiss Coffee. A few good places to start for light neutrals are BM Revere Pewter, SW Accessible Beige, SW Agreeable Gray.
Using Swiss Coffee for all my trim.
It's a classic.
Great video! I've been thinking about SW Accessible Beige. Originally, I was thinking gray, but I think I might get tired of it and its to cool. My great-room and kitchen is open concept, vaulted ceilings, plenty of western sun exposure. Dark hardwood flooring fireplace wall w/ beige stone, and warm colors decor. I've not yet seen BM Manchester Tan. I'd like something cozy, clean and inviting with a subtle variation from the white baseboards, but not yellow, green, blue, purple, pink or peachish. I'd love your thoughts?
Accessible Beige is a fantastic whole-house color. You can also try BM Edgecomb Gray for a lighter option with similar coloring. Manchester Tan has a little more yellow/gold to it than Accessible and Edgecomb, which will be amplified in a west-facing room, but is very nicely balanced. Just be sure to get samples and also compare them to your existing finishes (wood floors, fireplace stone, etc.).
really helpful! thanks so much! I now have a good list to take to the store for samples :)
So glad it was helpful for you!
Can you suggest a color that I can use as am accent wall in my master bedroom that I already had 3 walls in crystaline AF 485. I use this light green since my floor & furniture also dark walnut.
Thanks 😊
I’ve been looking all over for a north/east facing kitchen color with white dove cabinets. It seems like people seem to settle on revere pewter but that looks kind of sickly green in my kitchen, while white dove is either clean and crisp white or soft creamy during the evenings. I’ll definitely look into Collonade gray! Thanks for the recommendation!
I do wish there was more information on kitchen wall colors to match with white dove. Seems to be all gray recommendations, but I kind of wish there was more information on off whites to pair with white dove cabinets.
Thanks for your comment! With a northeast facing kitchen, you'll probably need to push the warmth of your wall color quite a bit to avoid looking too gray, and it sounds like green undertones are magnified in your lighting. Colonnade Gray might work, or maybe try something like BM Edgecomb Gray, which pairs really well with White Dove.
@@welshdesignstudio thank you so much! I apologize I did not get a notification. We actually used Samplize and were able to see Collonade Gray, Collingwood and balboa Mist and all three looked fantastic with white dove, and no green undertones visible. What we found what it wasn’t the paint giving the green undertone but due to grass and foliage outside that was reflecting green!! We decided for this reason to choose a non-gray 🙈 we went with White Sand - Benjamin Moore which really helped to neutralize the green we were seeing.
I have it on good authority that Edgecomb Gray reads very cool and gray year-round in a NE room! And I have White Dove trim. The way I amend its gray is by adding dashes of strong, warm color. 🧡
Do you think Paper White would look nice for an exterior (stucco) with a black Pearl shingled roof? It’s a small house with a Bavarian style. Thank you…and I love your video.
Well done
Thanks!
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
You're welcome!
nice job!

REALLY HELPFUL. THANK YOU!😊
Thank you for watching!
We are in the process of having our home built and price for having ceilings
painted a different color than walls is a budget buster for us. Our cabinets and trim will be a medium-dark stain color. What color would you recommend to use on both ceilings and walls?
We painted our bottom cabinets with Saratoga Spring (BM) and top cabinets and island with Shale stained (BM), was wondering what would be a good light wall color to match.
Purple
I’m a 73 yr old woman, with no experience!! Your video is soooooo helpful. We are building our dream home and have chosen Alabaster for most of the house. The house has lots of natural light, high ceilings. What do you suggest for the trim and ceiling?
Glad it was helpful! You can do Alabaster for trim and ceilings, as well. However, if you'd prefer to go with a more neutral white for trim/ceilings, I recommend SW High Reflective White
What a comprehensive overview! So useful. What colour is on the wall behind you as you are speaking?
Thanks for watching! On the walls is Sherwin-Williams Modern Gray
I have a house that is a little dark with 10" ceilings and will be applied on living room, dining room and entry way walls (these rooms are open concept). Can you suggest paint colors that would go with reddish brown wood floors? I will definitely get samples before painting. Thank you for your help
Hi similar situation what color and shine you chose.
You have the most relaxing voice. Thank you for the video 😊
Thank you, that’s very nice of you, and glad you enjoyed the video!
I have BM sea salt in my main floor west facing laundry room what would be a good trim colour for a craftsman lake house feel . Washer and dryer are teal. Looking for flooring colour and cabinet colour suggestions also. Love this video. We currently have sick ultra suede on our wall but want a more updated lighter look . Currently floors are Jatoba cherry. We want to go with a lighter brown grey luxury vinyl
If you're looking for a white trim color, I'd go with SW Pure White.
Hi miss. I want to have gray kitchen cabinet, pure white ceiling and trim. What is best gray color should I use for wall?
Thanks
❤❤❤❤🙏
Welcome!
I’m thinking of doing bm silver chain in my open concept home I have an accent wall in Kendal charcoal and was wondering if you think the two would pair nicely. Please let me know your thoughts.
Yes, those two will work well together.
There are two pictures. The first is the the title picture “20 Best...,” , and the second picture is the “white” title picture with the sofa and pampas grass.
They may both be the same color , as far as I can tell.
Thank you for all of your effort!
Both are stock images, so I don't have the paint colors. However, for the title image, I would try something like SW Repose Gray or BM Classic Gray to get a similar look. For the 'Whites' title picture, that's a really crisp bright white. Something like BM Chantilly Lace will give you a similar look.
Sorry, ascent wall color that I want to use in the master bedroom that possibly go with Crystaline AF 485. Thanks
What are your thoughts on BM Cedar key, with Chantilly Lace trim?
Any suggestions for a beach home color?
This video was very good.lm in a small apartment and everything in here is light oak wood floors ,kitchen cabinets l have a taupe sofa what color do you think l c ould paint the walls. Please answer l need help.
I was wondering if you know the colours used on wall and trim in the image introducing the white chapter of your video (the one with the couch). Looks like the trim is slightly darker. Love it and in the process of choosing colours to paint this week! Thank you!
No, sorry, I don't know the color used in that image. You can get a similar look with BM Chantilly Lace on the walls and BM Seapearl on the trim.
Thanks for the vid! Just wondering what’s the paint colour on the wall behind you in your intro? Is it Colonnade Gray?
Thanks
It’s Sherwin-Williams Modern Gray.
Love all these colors. Was thinking of going with Agreeable Gray, but would like to know first what you think of BM Rodeo please.
Rodeo is a great whole-house color, and is gaining in popularity. It has similar coloring (slightest green undertone) to the ever-popular Revere Pewter, but is lighter. I'd get samples of both and see which looks best in your lighting.
@@welshdesignstudio // I appreciate you replying more than you know. I'm going this weekend to get some samples of Rodeo. Yaay.
@@welshdesignstudio // Thank you for the advice. I went with Paper white since I have marble and blues.
Excellent paint color review. I’m still struggling with choosing the right color paint for a large living room and connecting den / kitchen area. Can you assist?
I have white cabinets, black hardware and stainless steel appliances..what’s a good paint color I should use for the kitchen? I put snowbound on the walls and it came off more pink. Would alabaster work well and if so should I stick with pure white for trim? Thanks!
I love this look that you have described for your kitchen. If you have light oak floors, the paint on the wall must be white with no undertones. You can use the same color paint on your walls and trims - eggshell on walls, semi-gloss on trims. Chantilly Lace is the safest choice.
Would Paper White go with White Dove trim? The way you described Paper White is exactly what I am looking for. I also have dark hardwood floors. In the process of picking paint for my house. I want to make sure I pick a good color to go with White Dove trim.
Thank you
