Hi Everyone! I hope you enjoyed this video on light warm neutral paint colors. I'd love to know your thoughts on decorating with light neutrals and if you have any other favorites. Have a beautiful day! ❤Liz
@@christinamendoza1598 Hi Christina! It's impossible to advise you on a specific color without seeing your space and all of your finishes and furnishings. All of the colors highlighted in the video would be a good starting point in your search. Check out samplize.com for peel and stick samples. You can order bundles of color families that can be really helpful.
We have a north and south window. To the north, a cool soft gray Flugger, to the south, vanilla ice cream from Dulux. Walls and ceiling in the same color. It works great.
We used pale oak in most of our main floor, stairwell and basement. It does tend to change tones with lighting and that was something we had to get used to but now we are quite happy with it, especially how it tends to blend so well with its surroundings. Makes the whole area feel brighter (especially compared to the beiges we used to have there)
Great video. Thanks, Liz! Just a piece of info for those who live in the Southern Hemisphere: swap North and South from the tips presented from 3:13 to 3:25.
Thank you, Victor! It's my pleasure. Thank you also for the clarification for those in the southern hemisphere. I'll make sure to mention that the next time.
We used Pale Oak in almost our entire main floor, upper stairway and basement. It’s a lovely mix of grey and beige. It can look more beige with pink undertones in some areas but more beige or grey in other areas depending on lighting. Seems to go with everything quite well. The house feels much more bright (previously was much more beige).
Mam saw this video now by accident and liked it very much. Firstly your knowledge on the subject is highly commendable secondly your english and communicating is excellent thirdly you look extremely beautiful for your age love from India thanks God bless you (practising architect)
Love your video - thank you! what color are the light walls in the Sherwin Williams pic with light walls and dark fireplace? It's the pic where walls and trim are same color.
My pleasure! I'm so happy you liked it. Those are all really nice warm neutrals. I think you'll find their undertones quite different so test them out in your spaces to see how they look with your furniture, finishes and lighting conditions.
What I want to find is a neutral (white) that will last the test of time. Most of us can't afford to redecorate as the trends change. My LR faces South and I just want a basic color to use (technically throughout my entire house to keep it all uniform) that I can update with minimal accessories should I choose. I'm a minimalist at heart although I still want my home to feel cozy and inviting, if that makes any sense. By using the same wall color generally throughout my home I don't need to keep multiple different paint cans around for the eventual needed touch up. My moto is "less is more" even when decorating.
Hi Barbara! You've come to the right place! If you haven't seen it yet, check out this video on soft white paint colors ➡️ruclips.net/video/sosbq223Zq4/видео.html. There are some great whole house white paint colors covered and different ways to use them. It's good to hear from a fellow minimalist! 😊
It's really hard to say without seeing the space and all the finishes. I would recommend going to samplize.com and looking at their bundles especially the White Creams and Muted Creams that have lots of warm tones which is what you'll need to coordinate with an orange tone. You can order peel and stick samples there, bundles or individual colors, to test them out.
I’ve got alabaster satin on my north facing foyer walls. I wanted a warm black for interior double entry door and a warm color just a smidge darker than the alabaster for the two closet doors and all trim. Any advice on closet and trim color and sheen? Also which black would you recommend. I was thinking matte for the black double door. Thanks!
Check out this video for my recommendations for sheen ➡️ruclips.net/video/sosbq223Zq4/видео.html . Every space is different because of lighting conditions and existing finishes so I usually recommend Samplize.com for color selection. They have a darks bundle that should be helpful in making a choice that's unique to your space.
what would you recommend for a dinning room surrounded by windows on N, E & S sides? My shades & fabrics are greige but my island countertop is old Santa Cecelia which looks good with colors like cream or natural linen. I’m so confused. Plan to also paint the dark wood trims/cabinets. Trying to brighten feel of the room..
It sound like you have a good balance of light. Painting the cabinets (walls too)can be a great way to brighten and bring everything together. If you pick up on one of the lighter, cooler tones in the granite, that will help tie in the griege which can read cool when compared with the gold and russet tones in that granite.
@@BalanceRhythm Thank you for answering! I am playing with that idea and it works everywhere except when I get to the trimmed opening over sink. my backsplash is a creamy white, plain lg subway tile. This one area of trim is separate from all the others but near cabinet color..so no grieges near. would it be ok to just do a warmer trim that is close enough to not show a contrast with the other half of room?btw the kitchen is U shape separated from windows by the Island.
I’m so glad I found you!!! I’m having such a dilemma. I have an open concept lakeside home with a wall of windows along the length of our home facing due west. The amount of windows, their size and West exposure gives us an abundance of natural light. Just a year ago we painted all of our walls Benjamin Moore, Balboa mist. I thought it would be perfect and the LRV was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it’s casting a bluish/purpleish undertone that’s driving me crazy. We hired a painter last week and I went and picked out what I thought would be a warm neutral and the painter painted the walls yesterday in Benjamin Moore’s Manchester tan. It’s just awful!! I hate it!! It makes our beautiful home look dated. All of our trim is Chantilly lace which I love. I am in desperate need of selecting a color and would love another color like Balboa mist that does not have the bluish/purple undertones. Can you give me a recommendation?!!
Hi Nancy! Welcome! My best recommendation is to pick three to five colors and either paint samples on the walls or get peel and stick samples from Samplize samplize.com/. Leave them there for several days and look at them in natural light at all times of the day and in artificial lighting at night. Also, look at Benjamin Moore's Off-White Collection: www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/off-white-collection. Balboa Mist is there so you can use it to compare. Some good in between shades might be those in the third column like White Dove, Dove Wing, Seapearl and Pale Oak. Also, check out the other comments on this video. There was some good feedback with other community members' personal experiences. I hope that helps a bit!

The Modern Gray at 1:26 looks warm and rich with the matted artwork. Thanks for all the visuals.

@donnav thanks so much for informing me of the nuances of this paint. I may have to keep searching because the pink may not work.

I just want a medium beige to paint an entire off (walls, book built-in and trim) that's not grey but also warm. Why is it so hard? 😫
anyone using Blank Canvas (behr) on their walls? looking for a lighter trim option for a bedroom

❤❤❤
I just feel all these look too gray. I THINK I prefer a warm neutral that has more yellow undertones. I DO NOT WANT cool or any hints of pink.
And wait until you try the same color sample in different rooms. It’s maddening 😩🤣
我喜欢这个色彩,但是我对室内色彩搭配一塌糊涂,哎
Pale oak looked pink /mauve.my walls No, no, no
Thanks for sharing your experience!
So glad I saw this post
