- Welcome to a day in our life as remote workers in our tiny home! Have you ever wondered what it’s really like to live in a tiny house with your partner? How about one that’s only 130 square feet? Now, we're trying out home base life in a longer-term tiny house parking spot, where daily routines are easier to maintain. It's a refreshing change of pace for us. Another positive side effect of staying put is the ability to create a cozy, functional outdoor living space. It's invaluable to be able to have more room and a way to mix up our scenery during days at home.

That must be a special bond to be able to spend so much time together. I like all the little optimizations you've made to the home to support your shared lifestyle. After watching this I wonder if you're able to mix up the daily routine.
We’ve definitely perfected the space over the years to work better for our needs, and happy to report our communications skills have greatly improved too. ☺️ Our work day routine gets mixed up by working on the patio sometimes (or coffee shops; pre-pandemic) and on film days we’re out of the house all day. Come winter time, we hope to get up earlier and hit the ski resort a couple of days of a week, which will mean shifting our work schedule 😊❤️
the farthest I'm willing to walk before coffee is the kitchen, LMAO

When do you think you'll be back on the road? Is there anything you most want to improve on your tiny house? Do you feel you need a tad more space and have considered a tiny house enlargement? Loved the workout!!!!! Have you considered selling your crafts??
Great questions! For now, we plan to keep our tiny house in Oregon. Our monthly living expenses are lower than ever, which is allowing us to save up to buy our own land in the next couple of years. Despite not traveling with our THOW, starting this year, we're traveling 2-3 months a year with our simple Honda Element car camper, and soon we plan to build a custom teardrop trailer! Yes, now that we're staying put for an extended period, and working from home more, a little more space is appealing. We've been very grateful to have the ability for a patio space with space to store a few extra things outside. We've considering closing the porch to give us 3 more feet of living space, but are also considering building a small cabin or container house in a few years. Then we'll rent out the tiny. And I've totally encouraging Christian to sell his needle felt creations in the future! 😉😀☺️

Well... I had to see what your day is like ! :-) Exercise is a must in confined spaces... I am at the computer more now, so I am working on a daily plan... sure not there yet ! haha... The big wide world says couples taking walks every day (together) can save your relationship. Looks like it works. :-)

We often have something light, like a banana. Typically we have 2 meals a day with light snacking in the late afternoon 😊

The minimum amount of space I need to get along with my husband is 1100 square feet.
😄it’s good to know what works for you! Our relationship definitely became stronger during our years living tiny. Though we can definitely see the benefits of having a little more privacy in a larger tiny home or small house. 😊

@@annesmith5192 after about 7 years in our tiny house, we just moved into a small A-frame (about 800 sqft). This in largely to do with my teenage son, who is with us part-time and has outgrown his loft. Also we want more home office space. So now our friend rents our tiny house. 😊
What do you both do for a living?

Does the dog get fed?
Yes 😉 we skipped that part of the day
They do not. I recognize the breed of dog, it is called an "Air Dog Terrier" Much like you can buy plants called "air plants" which thrive without being planted in soil or watered conventionally, an Air Dog does not need food or water, and can survive for many years with only a light misting from a spray bottle 2x per day. A very economical dog to own, and no clean up necessary. I heartily recommend the breed, but they are (understandably) rare, and breeder waitlists are long.
Tiny house couches never look comfortable....ever

Where do you live that you can get away with living in a tiny house? I hate that there's rules against them. I think that people should have the freedom to live however they choose to live. Who's right is it to say that you have to live in bigger than 400 square feet? Says who? I would do it if I thought I could get away with it but I live in California and there is a rule for everything here.
We're in an unpermitted ADU parking situation in central Oregon, and the neighbors are all on board so that gives us some comfort. Parts of Oregon are more friendly, and in future, we hope to own some land in the county with less restrictions. We agree that there are too many exclusive housing regulations. If we want more housing, and more affordable housing, these have to be changed. Fortunately, CA has seen tremendous progress by legally accepting movable tiny houses as accessory dwellings in numerous cities and counties, including San Diego, LA, San Jose, Santa Clara County, SLO.
