"My Tiny House Saved Me" Single Mom's Enchanting 30' THOW

- Shannen built her tiny house with her soon-to-be ex-husband for about $45k. But when they separated, she moved her THOW just 10 minutes away, providing a smoother transition for her and her 2 boys. Also for Mangus, their English Bulldog. ✨ Her 30' tiny home is enchanting inside and out. Featuring incredible epoxy work on the arched front door and throughout the kitchen.
Tiny house design is efficient yet spacious enough not to have to sacrifice luxuries like a small dining table, big sofa, and full-size bathtub. And outside, Shannen built a pallet deck and fence. She's also working to create gardens around her tiny home.
Shannen's tiny house parking spot is on 15 wide-open acres, next to the property owner's small cabin in the works. She pays $400 rent per month, inclusive of utilities. While Shannen helps with land maintenance, she and her boys have free reign outside to build, explore, and build forts.

Circumstances have caused some positive changes that otherwise might not have been realized. In particular, I love the idea of giving the kids an experience instead of another thing. Makes you think about what do you really need and what you don't. I think that you are a great Mother.
Great you and someone else could custom build. Tiny houses have become so expensive to buy and build. Unfortunately, every one isn't able as I'm a senior aged person looking for peaceful places to live/buy that I'm physically able to keep up.
Totally agree. I _love_ her philosophy on gift-giving. It is so much better to give your kids experiences rather than stuff. If you can afford summer camp or horseback riding lessons or a musical instrument or a day at a water park or ice skating rink or tickets to a professional ball game or ballet performance. These are not only fun but great opportunities to learn and develop and explore what they like and don't like. If you never go horseback riding, you will never know if you have a talent for horseback riding.
I love her idea of gift giving too, and for kids she is creating a memory for them to cherish for a lifetime, where as a material gift can eventually break or is temporary. She is an awesome woman.

I agree with you. I have been inspired since the movement started. I live in India I can't build mine on a trailer but looking forward to build something less than 400 sqft.

Oh Wow... So homey and so warm!! A HOME not just a house. Beautiful Job!!!!! I love the big couch... what do you do in the living but lay around, watch TV or even just hang out with family or friends. VERY VERY COOL!!! And a dining table. Everything!

Since you know the people who own the land are open to renting out some of it they should see about getting a pine tree cell phone tower... my friend has one on her land to get service to the small town and she gets paid for the use of the land each month.

Wow, I have been watching so many tiny house and bus conversion videos for months and I have to say that this one is my favorite by far. I absolutely love the blue paint job inside and as my son said it looks like denim. Fantastic result. I'd love to see the making of Shannen's tiny house if possible.
