to those who want my advice, i'm sitting my exam too. 1. Don't stress - Quite ironic as I stress myself too but believe in yourself, once the exam is over you never have to think about English Literature ever again. 2. Memorize some paraphrases, sentence starters & extenders, even if you're stuck with your analysis you can extend your paragraph with these extenders. 3. Always attempt unseen poetry, regardless whether you understand it or not (the question already establishes the purpose of the poem). 4. Pre-write your introductions, this saves me time honestly. Obviously you actually aren't going to write the actual introduction for the question since you won't know the question, however ensure you make a structure that is suitable for anything you can write about. 5. Do not rely on predictions too much and obviously go through every poem whether it's in dept or just a bit a brief understanding of the poems is great. 6. ESSAY PLANS!! Pre-prepare some potential essay plans. 7. Ensure you know 3 quotes for each poem and characters/themes for your Modern Drama. 8. Practice writing some paragraphs too, this cools down your nerves and establishes you into the examination environment. 9. Read Grade 9 essays and analyse the areas where you can improve your essay in-order to obtain those top grades. - Good luck, you'll smash this.

@@Vamp1r3squideditz got a 5 in my mocks in year 11 but I practiced again and again whilst watching his videos and ended up getting an 8 on Language and Lit
I just finished the English exam and I just want to say thank u for being so dedicated in teaching us. I honestly don't think I would've had the amount of confidence I have if it wasn't for the 6 hours worth of videos I watched about an inspector calls 😂
thank you mr salles i bombed lit paper 1 even though it had the Qs i wanted purely because i wrote slow as 💀 so here’s to hoping paper 2 will help me out a bit
I sat my gcses two years ago and am now doing maths furthermaths and physics at a level but I still watch Mr Salles videos just to calm me down before exams 😭 thanks for the grade 9 sir 💪💪
I’ve been watching you sir since my November mocks and you’ve always been one click away to help me with whatever I needed. Thank you Mr Salles for being an absolute legend this year.
Hey Mr Salles! Thought you'd like to know, the exam question and poem in paper 2 were (roughly): 1. Describe how Priestley uses the Inspector to represent the need for social change 2. Kamikaze (how conflict affects people's lives)
I (Y10) haven’t studied AIC in nearly a year and although I barely passed that exam, it feels like such a nice book to write about and I could see myself getting a very top grade for my next assessment on it
I'm going to write a book called, 'Anne in Spectacles,' now. I'll give you a mention on the first page and you can also be invited to the premiere for the movie, which you'll get 10% of the profits for. Fair? Is that a deal?
over the past year 11 and year 10 I struggled so much with English literature, so when I decided to act on that I started to watch your videos . I just had my last English literature test and can say that you’ve helped me so much with my analysis and essays but especially with my confidence in English literature and I don’t think anyone else could’ve done it as well as you have so thank you 👑
I did really badly in Paper 1, not understanding the Jekyll and Hyde question. I felt like I was going to fail this paper too, until I watched this. Now I feel like I actually have a chance.
Hi sir, I've been watching your video on Sheila for An Inspector Calls. Thank you for them, they have been such a great help. But I have a question, I've never even considered that Sheila would continue her engagement to Gerald after the ending of the play. Could she not completely uproot her life and be a worker like Eva instead? And if she does behave like 'we are all members of one body', that would make a difference. It wouldn't be just for nothing. She could influence the other women around her to do the same, not the upper-class ones who wouldn't risk abandoning their positions but the lower-class ones. Then the effort wouldn't be meaningless.
Obviously, she could do all of those things, I just don’t believe the play lead us to think that she does. You also have to explain the second phone call.
THANK YOU MR SALLES! I want to thank you for all your tips, you absolutely carried me through both examinations, I’m sure many others are in my situation
I did paper 2 earlier today, It wasn't that hard, just rather long and strenuous. You've been rather helpful Mr Salles, not just for but also for many other students within my year that regularly use you for their revision. I imagine if you stopped making your videos, the average GCSE English grade across the UK would drop significantly. Keep up the good work sir.
Thank you so much Mr Salles your predictions were amazing and helpful! I compared Kamikaze to the Emigree and talked about conflict of identity, war and childhood innocence, do you think that works? :)
thanks Mr Salles. Though, I'm still stuck with memorising quotations. I genuinely only want to keep on writing writer's intentions throughout. I did that with paper 1, and I feel like the lack of analysis with the quotes I dropped in. I don't know how I feel about English so far.
Thank you so much for this, you've helped me significantly through my whole gcse learning, what a lovely ending! Also, if I was to write more about the poem i choose to compare with, is that okay? I'm aiming for top band

Exam went very well thanks to your tips sir, I will say there was two character questions on AIC this year but your videos helped tremendously during my last minute revision, plus my favorite poem came up so I got quite lucky overall pol
