to all studying inspector calls:
you killed her - damn you- damn you (ao2 fragmented speech and repetition of damn you creating a sense of aggression and tension between eric and sybil) ao3 (yap abt younger generation vs older generation and how socialism links to this)
she looked young and fresh ( gerald says this a02 semantic field of meat and animals aka zoomorphism showing objectifying of women) ao3(suggests how even gerald is a slave to capitalism as he cant marry whom he wants to but the wealthy)
unsinkable absolutely unsinkable (ao2 repetition emphasising birlings views plus dramatic irony) ao3 ( 1945 viewers know the titanic has sunk so birlings yapping)
if men do not learn that lesson they shall be taught it in fire and blood and anguish (ao2 polysyndeton means repetition of conjugations such as 'and' so the consequences are emphasised also creates a semantic field of hell.) ao3 (link it to how the inspector is always 'cutting in" so he cooks capitalism)
clothes mean something quite different to a women (ao2 is a euphemism which means an expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.) ao3 (this shows how women are forced to hide their opinions due to expectations. it also suggests that women are respected by their clothes which suggests how they are victims to capitalism.)
it was a hellish thing to see- oh my god (ao2 juxtaposition between hellish and god suggests the extent to which the rape has cooked eric. The fragmented speech emphasises this. this is also a euphemism)

I have my edexcel lit paper 2 tomorrow, Mr.Salles saves my life
Mr Salles I genuinely would like to offer my heartfelt thanks for this video. You have just made me understand what I had been waiting for so far. May God bless you
Got 34/34 and 30/30 on my last mock for lit paper 2. This video is exactly what helped me. Whatever happens next Monday, if I write good, I'll get a 9, if not and I don't mention some things. I'd still be good with an 8, and if I write really badly, I'll get a 7, which is nice because I'm only required a 5 in english as I don't do it in A level. Still working hard in every subject tho thank you again and again for the grade 9 training Mr. Salles ur goated fr
Good luck. This is a brilliant outlook to exams
HELLO SO DID THIS VIDEO ALONE ALLOW YOU TO ACHIEVE FULL MARKS IN YOUR MOCKS CAN I DO THAT TOO because im going through a crisis my teacher has not been here for like 5 months and im having to teach myself everything for english lit so if you could respond id be very greatful thank you sm😭😭😭😭

i got 27/30 on my inspector calls mock essay from your videos! thank you
what videos did you watch?
@@nxha137 mainly the 'all of the themes' inspector calls videos, and watched a lot of essays in his videos and used some of the analysis in them. also used physics and maths tutor for more analysis
with what videos?
thank you for this
Hello. Mr salles , I can't believe this video is so detailed and felt like these ideas are something we haven't really touched upon in school ,But what I find the hardest is integrating these ideas into essays once again as you mentioned : Coherent convincing arguement ,I am not sure if it is because of the essasy structure or if the quality of analysis, Do you have ideas where I can get model answers as I DONT THINK my teachers would be giving them out ?
so helpful !
thank you so much for bringing my grade from a 5 to a 9
Well done on your hard work!
Hi sir, I was wondering if you could do a similar video for Great Expectations? Thankyou
relying on ur videos to pass english 🙏
How many quotes should we learn for each theme and character? eg social responsibility and what should be included in the essay?
Thank you sm
you carried me in my exam. Thanks a million man
Glad I could help!
this is saving my grades
Thanks so much! I got 32/34 on the Inspector Calls question and a grade 9 overall
Excellent!

Hi, this video is really useful thank you! I’m new to your channel so I was wondering what a thesis statement is? It sounds very useful😊

Nobel Prize loading, this is gold
Thanks

this is an amazing video. i have gcses very soon and would love a 9. im currently following the edexcel examboard but most of this video has been incredibly helpful.
Best of luck! Glad it works for you.
How was literature paper 1?
@@UrMum-rf6ko thanks to this man it went very well
cheers lad
Hi Mr Salles, I’m sure you get this question all the time but for a grade nine question, roughly how many quotes should we use for aic in aqa. Great videos by the way, I went from a 7 to a 9 In my recent mocks for lang and lit
Nicely done! 13+ quotes
can you give an example of the 3 points to be used in the thesis please?
should I apply this "entrepreneur" method to the rest of the texts as well? for example in macbeth paragraphs on God and the betrayal of the gift of free will
I definitely would! Have an idea in your head about what you will say for each key theme along with fitting quotes and just adapt this to the question you’re given
got 26/30 in my aic essay yay
one for Jekyll and Hyde?
Hello Sir! So does that mean for our modern prose question(An Inspector Calls), we'll have two choices to pick from one on a character and one on a theme. We can pick one out of the two and write about it...?
Yes
Would Priestleys point of view be ao1 or ao3
2 and 3
if we learnt only these quote could we still acheive top grades or should we learn more
Yes to both questions
🐐
Should you write about the theme or character
Theme is easier for top grade
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish sir the exam is over and they only gave character questions for AIC
But I thought last year the paper had two character questions
Hi, my creative writing is not the best as i dont use ambitious vocab. Pls could you recommend how i can improve my vocab.. could you please suggest some books i can read, which help a lot with english. P.S. i do aqa english language and aqa english literature
Just look and study a thesarus and look for words that have similar meanings that youve never heard of before.
somehow, i learnt all my ambitious vocab from the internet. usually finding argument like on reddit (don’t use it but pretty sure its got some incels who use big vocab) or yt ones. if you don’t know a word then you google it. this might help more than a thesaurus or something as its quite a large task. if this doesnt work, borrow words from top essays.

Hi Sir, I know you're busy with all your other bits, but do you offer a service or a way that you can read my AIC essay and give me feedback, ideally for free? Many thanks, love your advice :D
why was the girl getting proposed 💀💀💀
Couldn't you talk about the name 'Daisy Renton' itself being a pun. Daisy = innocence - link it to bible/religous imagery//Mary. Renton = 'Rent' she's renting her self. Juxtaposition of the idea of innocence and being cleen and being in a dirty place like a brothel.
Yes
Used this in my exqm 😭😭
Is this Edexcel
doesnt matter its still the same text
