thank you so much !! can you give me an idea on how to start an inspector calls essay. like the introduction ??
“Unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable” also is a metaphor for the Birling family, that could never believe they could get in trouble, but inevitably will, which also ties into the quote “if men do not learn that lesson they will be taught in fire and blood and anguish”

Thanks! Would you say it’s worth it to try and learn quotes about Mrs Birling, Gerald and Eric or just focus on some really good ones for Sheila, Mr B and Inspector?
imo mate id say the latter since there'll be a theme question where u can use the sheila mr b and inspector quotes if there isnt already a character question on them
if you do any of the first 3 in addition to shiela birling and inspector, I would say probably do eric. I doubt they would give us mrs birling, it is more than likely gonna be one of the last 3 you mentioned.
I highly doubt it will be Sheila this year because it was her last year.
if you can get a good theme and link it to gender somehow you can get two free paragraphs about Sheila and Mrs B so definitely focus on them
@@failedorgan8747 it’s 200% gerald or eva
Hi Sir! Do you think these quotes would be sufficient to answer any theme question? (they cover a lot on society!)
Last minute revision and your videos are really helping! Do you have an analysis on why there was second death at the end of the play, does this signify anything important? Thank you, your videos are super helpful!
death 1 = ww1, inspector leaves... no change occurs - IG given free will to birling - link to christians. death 2 = ww2 and is a result of their actions,( link to adam eve banished from eden to the 2nd death)
priestley wants young gen to break free of older gen's ideas as it will cause history to repeat itself eg dont be like geraldc he is an example of young gen with old gen ideologies.

can you please do one on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde ?
MR SALLES ARE YOU STILL GOING TO DO A VIDEO ON GREAT EXPECTATIONS?
Could u do this for LOTF I beg
Can you do the same but for Jekyll and Hyde
hello @Mr Salles, I have a quote for jekyll and hyde that I'm curious about.
what theme could this quote about hyde fit into?
duality? the supernatural? Good v evil?
"his every act and thought centered on self; drinking pleasure with bestial acidity from any degree of torture to another: relentless like a man of stone"
the "bestial" part of it compares hyde's pure evil and his inability to avoid it, seeing as he is pure evil, as animalistic and instinctual, but I'm not sure about the "stone" part either. does it re-enforce the point I have just made?
This quote describes the depravity of Hyde - so it illustrates the evilness of Hyde. Thus good vs. evil.
PLEASE can you do a video about love and relationships poetry it's TOMORROW
Mr salles how would you apply these quotes to an actual gcse aqa question
Omgggg dreading the exam tomorrow...... Atleast it's not macbeth 😂😘
Please can you do one for jekyll and hyde
Can you do for Journey’s End?
what order are these quotes in chronologically?
So do you think it will definitely be society for AIC?
life saving
Mr salles would you recommend a peeal(point evidence) structure to an essay
No he doesn't, I bought the book. However, if you are comfortable with peel paragraphs, then you probably shouldn't try to stray away from them in the exam. What, How, Why is more sophisticated.
Good luck tomorrow everybody!!!
Good luck everyone!
PLEASE for the love of God do one of these for Jekyll and Hyde and I will literally give you the £10 I have in my bank
Here we go again in 2023
Sir could you please tell me which poems you think most likely wont come up and magbe a top few likely poems alongside COMH
Might be useful but the theme of nature hasn't cropped up yet, would be beneficial to revise The Prelude and Storm on the Island. The theme of identity is also likely, The Emigree would be good to compare to COMH
@@kedz2936 could I link exposure to theme of nature? As I know that poem well
@@charliegarrett4810 yes with storm on the island that's a good one
Guys I predict that for edexcel it’s gonna be Sheila or Eric
Thank you for this. My teachers have consistently told me that I will be getting a grade 6 in English Lit, and so I've been looking for way to elevate that to at least a 7 - I'm hoping this video will give me the boost in knowledge that I need. Good luck tomorrow everyone, we're all in this together!
That last sentence giving Socialist vibes ngl, might analyze it in the exam lmao
😂
thankss :) same to you too. What do you think the question is going to be?
@@preenaparmar7723 Since having so much disruption to learning, id expect something fair. Maybe a question on Sheila? the Inspector? that'd be nice. Or even Mr B. I wouldn't personally expect one on Mrs B though - I don't think there's enough about her to warrant a 'fair' question, but you never know. However I'd love a question linked to symbolism - that'd be amazing, I'm sure everyone could say a lot about that. Also just a tip for yourself and anyone who reads this - my teachers have told us to describe the Inspector as Priestley's mouthpiece and apparently it's not something a lot of people say? It's a good alternative for Priestley's proxy so you arent repeating yourself too much, and they've said it offers a better description of how Goole is used in the play. I'd say either is fine, but it's always good to broaden your vocabulary! Once again, good luck!
@@Wefhio you could also describe the inspector as Priestley puppet as an alternative to both
@@airborneyk1144 ah yes thats another good one, ill try fit that in if it makes sense with the question
Like if part of last minute revision gang!!😎
🙋♂️
mr salles do u reckon its easier to get a higher grade answering the theme question or character question on aic tmr?
i saw a comment of his saying to do a theme question, im guessing because of contextual links and if its a broad question, many points can be made and it can link to many of the characters
@@hamsnub thankyou!!!
I find themes so hard
