Hi mr Salles and mr everything English, I’ve just got my results. I got an 8 in both English language and literature. I’m very pleased and I just wanted to say thank you!
mr salles is correct when he said we should do from question 5 because in question 4 it asks from last paragraph for me thats the best way because it can help me for question 3 paper 1

I absolutely loved that. Thank you both ❤. Great fun and really thought provoking too. And yes, I’d love a Mr S travel channel and am already looking forward to the Mr S and Mr EE Pakistan experience next year!
Sir you have to got to Lahore, the history there is amazing and the street food is also amazing. I recommend visiting the old part of Lahore which has buildings and forts made by the Mughal empire.
Mr Salles, is including readers reaction and effectiveness of the writer’s methods to incite that reaction as crucial as a lot of the teachers make it seem?
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish here's a pretty good paragraph my teacher formulated: In the beginning of the play, before we even meet the Inspector, Priestley establishes the importance of his character through the effective use of lighting and stage directions: “sharp ring of a door bell. Birling stops to listen”. This ironically cuts off Mr. Birling mid speech, foreshadowing later events in the play and singling him out to be the only character with the power to silence Mr. Birling, and by extension the middle and upper classes. Furthermore, when he first arrives at the Birling residence, the lighting becomes “brighter and harsher”. This sets the tone for his interactions with the other characters, positioning him as a figure of scrutiny and moral judgment, beginning to create the theme of responsibility. Alternatively, this could be interpreted as a desperate attempt by Priestley to subliminally assert authority of the lower class over the middle class as 1912 society had a very rigid class structure which meant the lower class had no real authority over their social superiors. This divide was still prominent to the 1945 contemporary audience, hence Priestley’s use of dramatic devices were necessary for the audience to take his message on social responsibility seriously. Some audience members may welcome the Inspectors arrival and the end of Mr. Birling’s self-serving monologue while others, the more capitalist minded among them, could be equally piqued by this intrusion.
@@mohammedaayanpathan Yes, it is great writing and analysis. However, it is the kind of teaching which I think is killing the subject and preventing students studying it at A level - you won't have much room left to write an essay having spent that long on one stage direction! If it works for you, incorporate it.
@@MrSallesTeachesEnglish thanks your response Mr Salles. Say, what do you think about OxfordAQA English Literature GCSE, a lot of international students do this specification, and we really need content on it, as texts like To Kill a Mockingbird are so rare these days to find solid content on RUclips. This text is common with Pearson International Edexcel’s course too, so I think you could really fill in the gaps in the market with this for the cohorts to come. Paper 1 for literature is tomorrow, wish me luck!
