to all studying inspector calls:
you killed her - damn you- damn you (ao2 fragmented speech and repetition of damn you creating a sense of aggression and tension between eric and sybil) ao3 (yap abt younger generation vs older generation and how socialism links to this)
she looked young and fresh ( gerald says this a02 semantic field of meat and animals aka zoomorphism showing objectifying of women) ao3(suggests how even gerald is a slave to capitalism as he cant marry whom he wants to but the wealthy)
unsinkable absolutely unsinkable (ao2 repetition emphasising birlings views plus dramatic irony) ao3 ( 1945 viewers know the titanic has sunk so birlings yapping)
if men do not learn that lesson they shall be taught it in fire and blood and anguish (ao2 polysyndeton means repetition of conjugations such as 'and' so the consequences are emphasised also creates a semantic field of hell.) ao3 (link it to how the inspector is always 'cutting in" so he cooks capitalism)
clothes mean something quite different to a women (ao2 is a euphemism which means an expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.) ao3 (this shows how women are forced to hide their opinions due to expectations. it also suggests that women are respected by their clothes which suggests how they are victims to capitalism.)
it was a hellish thing to see- oh my god (ao2 juxtaposition between hellish and god suggests the extent to which the rape has cooked eric. The fragmented speech emphasises this. this is also a euphemism)
Tnx

u r a legend. more people need to be like you
Love you ❤️

The best online english teacher got me from a grade 3 to a grade 7 on my last mock hopefully i get higher on my actual exam on monday!
Go impress yourself, believe in yaself, we all need it eh?
That is an absolutely astonishing improvement well done! You went from failing to being a top student
Astonishing, I am at grade 3 and I am hoping for a 4 since I do not want to repeat English since it sucks and it will damage my overall grade
@@hamzasherasmat6593Inshallah I hope u get the best grades however u only need to pass English lang if u fail literature h won’t have to resit but I hope u get an amazing grade
@@hamzasherasmat6593 if you have the discipline and the work ethics you'll get there i find when constantly going over quotes active recall + bulrting is very useful for english. I just had the exam wrote 10 pages in total brilliant exam mr everythings predication of The inspector was correct fair play.

Jzk khair tysm. Please do jekyll and hyde after because I haven't got much great quotes that can be used for a variety of themes
Thanks
Hey sir! I just wanted to say that I cannot thank you enough for all the help you have given me in these videos along with many others! I've been watching over your English Language Paper 1/2 videos in recent times especially which go over each question within each paper (uploaded around 10 months ago) as I really needed help in English Language and they have already benefitted me tons, (like I could not understand how to write my paragraphs properly nor analyse any quotes in-depth) compared to how clueless I was beforehand. Anyways, I don't want to waste any more of your time reading this but the point is that you are truly amazing - keep up the great work you do sir! 😎🔥
Well done and thank you for the kind words
Thanks a lot sir jzk (I love your videos), but to be honest I feel this video was a bit rushed. The other quotes videos for A Christmas Carol and Macbeth were 11/10. But these quotes I don't feel they can be used as efficient (by me). Of course a lot of quotes are much much harder to remember, but that's just my opinion to be honest - not sure if anyone else can relate.
Sir can you please post your predicitions for the exam questions. As you have predicted the last year one correctly
Predictions will come out soon- I just don’t want to distract you all with predictions just so I can get views. For now focus and prepare for everything.
@@MrEverythingEnglish thanks sir

Could you also do a video on these quotes and how they link to audience perspective, like how is this linked to today's society?
Can you time stamp when you are analyzing each quote?
Hi Sir, perfectly timed! I just finished your “a Christmas carol” quotes guide. I’m trying to get a Grade 7 in English literature and I’m stuck at a 5 right now, do you have any tips for me?
Watch Him and Trust ur getting 7 lowest
@@yasss7778 alright, I do hope so. I’m aiming for English literature, history and maths a-level so I need at least a 6. I have watched him Mr Everything English for previous mocks and I believe he is a massive contributor to me getting from a 3 to a 5 with no revision.
You have done a past video on the top 10 quotes for an inspector calls and I made flash cards on those already , so are those still good quotes to use ?
there still good to use but this video is more detailed
Please can you do Macbeth next. These quotes are very helpful
Yep it’s next
@@MrEverythingEnglish You reckon your old one (the one from 2 years ago) isn't good enough cus i just revised for that lol
@@MrEverythingEnglish What's your prediction for the 2024 inspector calls question?
Sir please can you do lord of the flies
My teacher said for AQA if your introduction is in the top band and the rest of your writing and analysis is not great you stay in the top band.is this true?if so can u make some videos on introductions
Doesn't really sound true. Could be, but if your writing is bad in 90% of the essay I don't think I'd give you a 7
hear dooooksss ur teacher must be tapped just like u mate
My teacher said the same thing - it has to b sustained thats wut it says in the mark scheme so you have to do it a few more times. By doin at the beginning then ur teling the examiner tht u can write like tht.
no it is you only have to show the skill once
will you be doing lord of the flies soon?
can you quotes for lord of the flies?
Would I still be able to use the 10 quotes that you gave in your video from a couples of years ago?
id assume so , these are just 10 more based on the new questions that have been asked
how do we find out what themes these quotes link to?
sir predicted questions for inspector calls
Morning of the exam and I’m only revising quotes now
Are u ready mate
same
Thanks Sir
can you make one for romeo and juliet?
So would it be fine if i remember just these 10 quotes extremely well for the exam?
Ye, I remembered ten quotes from the Romeo and Juliet vid and it helped so much. These ten quotes have a large depth of analysis for each one and can help you analyse the play as a whole so I think you will be fine!
fresh and fit podcast talking about young and fresh is crazy , they really be saying idiotic stuff like that tho
Hi please can u do one for Romeo and Juliet Aqa 2024 edition please

But I already learnt his last year quotes 😭😭😭
Same :( should I use these quotes or not?
Ha- that video is about three years old. But it still works- it’s just that in this video I explain the quotes a little more
Can I use this quotes in OCR An Inspector call?
Thank you
Absolutely!
@@MrEverythingEnglish thank you sir, so should i memorise this quote or more? thank you
@@stradache you could memorise these and have them as your “base quotes”, where you can base everything off them. However, you could also learn a few more with your own analysis, but just stick to these as your go-to quotes.
I just don't get the Freud ID thing how do we even bring that in to our essays how does it relate help
Its basically the concept of falling prey to ones own desires. So essentially the main point you can argue when it comes to ID is that the Birlings were so immersed in their desire for wealth, they were slaves to their desire, so much so that they disregarded the lower working class and prioritised themselves and money. This in turn led to them having to face the consequences. I would especially use ID to talk about Arthur Birling. For example if the question was on Social class you can talk about the stratification of society and the dangers of having a ruling class who are blinded by money in contrast with the proletariat who are simply exploited.
@@MindGames_y do you think you could say that all without mentioning Freud or would it be best to say like something along the lines of Freuds theory ,.., is prevalent through the birlings... Something like that
Anyway thank you so much idk if your doing the exam Tommorow but hopefully it goes well for you
@@safz651 I think it’s best to mention Freud because it accounts for AO3 marks and the most points you can gather the better. But yeah your welcomee good luck on the exam tmr and tysm hope it goes well for the both of us x
Romeo and juillet ?
Hi can you please do one for Romeo and Juliet please
Please do animal farm or Romeo and Juliet
ty for the vid, its helped a lot i just have one question and that's what are the language devices for the last quote (girls of that class), and like why did priestly say this, what did he hope to prove/show.
Can u do one for romeo and juliet?
U Dont need romeo and julliet in yr 11
@StreamlabsV2 yes I do I'm literally doing it for my exam
10 mins before going skl 👍👍
Can someone please explain to me what freud=ID is
The id, in Freud's psychoanalytic theory, is the unconscious part of the psyche driven by the pleasure principle, seeking immediate gratification of basic desires and instincts without considering reality or social norms. It operates alongside the ego, which mediates with reality, and the superego, which represents moral standards.

I love you man I really do ❤❤❤❤
Where is the rule of three used in quote 3
im fried. im doing quotes now
Does anyon3 know good sign of four quotes videos
I’m absolutely cooked
Someone let me know what freud id is I’m soooo lost
ID is just referring to the concept of being so immersed in your desire that your actions are influenced by the principle of that desire. In our case in 'An Inspector Calls', the birlings are so blinded by their desire for wealth and to maintain their reputation that everything they say and do is driven by their ID. Hence why they are slaves to their desires.
freud was a psychologist who studied stuff like the brain and behaviour, the id is a part of a theory of his and basically it means the more subconscious, primitive part of the mind, as he was saying with intrusive thoughts those come from the id, it has ur dark and deep desires and most importantly there is no regard for morality in the id, the id is 100% instinctual and even if you know its wrong the id will still desire it because it doesn't care about right or wrong
Wt about eric
can someone tell me what "freud and id" is?
The id, in Freud's psychoanalytic theory, is the unconscious part of the psyche driven by the pleasure principle, seeking immediate gratification of basic desires and instincts without considering reality or social norms. It operates alongside the ego, which mediates with reality, and the superego, which represents moral standards.
