Thank you for sharing, this is amazing I have a question, in the record setting, I can only see the highest being 60i24M(FX), what should I do to get a 60p 50m?
thank you for your videos it helps me so much especially im a small youtuber and i didnt know things bout the camera like how to get the best setting for this camera
Hi Arron, hopefully you or anybody else who knows can answer me, i'm using Sony A5000 (basically almost the same with A5100 but with only 20MP instead of 24MP and only AVCHD/MP4 available), so far im recording using MP4 mode since it's easier to move and edited on my iPhone with Lumafusion, FYI i don't have good laptop/PC for editing my video and have an iPhone with A13 Bionic which should good enough to edit 1080p video, is there any good way to move and edit the file on iPhone if use AVCHD?
Thank you so much for the clear explanations! I'm curious about how the sound gets synced with the video if I use the Blue Yeti. I have a sound-only recording setup with my Yeti and computer and I'm recording the video with an a6000.
It depends what type of photography/ video you want to take. Different lenses are better for different shots! My personal favourite is the Sony 18-105 f4.
@@ArronPrescott thanks for your reply. I am basically looking for still video or studio shoot like your but I want to upgrade a lens apart from kit lens. ☺️
Your tip about changing regions was a lifesaver! I was stuck at 50fps on my Sony a5100, using it as a web cam on a 1080p 60fps gaming live stream broadcast using OBS. Switching to NTSC got me my 60fps! Feeding 50fps into OBS seemed to degrade the face cam quality in the actual broadcast (I assume because OBS was having to convert the 50fps to 60fps on the fly)? Looks good now. Thank you! Also, I noticed the a5100 has a soft focus setting to smooth out skin tones - have you tried it?
Thanks, Arron. Can I suggest the Rodes Go (Austrian Lapel Mic) is about 140 pounds or AUD240. there is an adaptor cable to plug straight into my a6100 that works perfectly. Plus, there is now a two-channel version that allows dual-channel or two mics to the camera. Very easy to set up and great sound quality. the mic has both built-in or lapel mics
I forgot you’re a a5100 guy like me. Do you have any issues with overheating? I can record for about 20 minutes in airplane mode and with all the battery/card doors open before it shuts itself if I lay it down on the air conditioner for a while. The cool thing is that no matter how hot the camera gets, it will always give you 5 more minutes. It could be melting and it will give you five more minutes haha. I should be getting a pack of 8 raspberry pi heatsinks that I’m going to apply and let you know how it goes 🤙
I tried a raspberry pi heatsink...and it did prolong the recording time, but still occasionally overheated. I've tried all kinds of things...and the best solution has been to hook up a USB capture device such as the Flink 4KP and then use OBS to record footage directly to my laptop's HD.
Thank you for your great video! I am using the A5100 and I am recording straight through OBS, I have it set up that way for live streaming. When I view the footage on my PC it looks really great. Once uploaded onto YT it looks really low quality and grainy. Not entirely sure why.
I had the same experience on my last stream. The quality looked so nice on the computer but via my phone as a stream participant it looked more pixelated. It was my first attempt and I was streaming directly from YT. I tested the stream out several times ahead of time just to test the audio and it sounded fine during the tests but during the stream everyone complained about it being garbled and extremely difficult to understand what was being said. I'm still searching for answers but I'm pretty sure it was a low bandwidth problem.
@@Filmworks-uh6bw If you need any help let me know. Thats what I do, live stream, teach and troubleshoot. I found my mistake being the CBR. I recorded and exported the files in a way lower CBR than the cam is recording in, therefore compressing the file!
@@GermanLuk I just subscribed. I didn't see any videos addressing audio for live streaming events but I still subscribed just to get any future tips you may have and because I like tracking the progress of future RUclips stars :)
@@Filmworks-uh6bw I appreciate that! :) I know that within OBS you can add audio filters, and also counter delays if there are any. to sync up video and audio
Khasi Jaintia put it in ntsc because 60p is only in ntsc regions whereas in the uk it’s pal which uses 50p, just be careful to not use the same sd when switching between ntsc and pal because sd’s can’t have ntsc and pal data, only 1. If you do accidentally switch with an opposing region of the sd it will be formatted and all data lost. Hope I’ve helped :)
Don't worry, it's based on your region. PAL = 50p NTSC = 60p luckily you can change this in the settings, check out this video which explains how to change it - ruclips.net/video/IEQcbZqxWSg/видео.html
Are there any settings or accessories you use to improve your RUclips videos? Let me know!
The best video for settings 👌🏾 the right amount of detail, efficient. Excellent resources in description. Well done.
Great to hear it was helpful! Thanks 💪
I love your videos ! You explain things so clearly. When my camera gets in the mail I’m going to use your tips. Thanks !
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the channel!

Could you please explain how to sync the video and computer-recorded audio?

I use that soft box light in warm and cool both tones but it doesn't work for me. I have Sony alpha 6100 can you please help me ???
What aspect ration for youtube 16:9 or 3:2
Just curious if the higher quality settings such as file format, resolution and fps effects the bandwidth load of the stream.

Hello! Do you know FeiyuTech G6 plus Gimbal?? What's your opinion? Thanks.
I've heard of it, but haven't used this gimbal, so can't give an opinion at the moment. Hopefully will get to try one soon!

then how do i convert to mp4 when editing on laptop???
XAVC S video has an mp4 wrapper and should load into most editing software.

Check your region. If you're in PAL it's max 50p. You'll need to switch to NTSC for 60p.
