Hey, John! I’m still a devoted Panhead who loves your book. What I don’t get is that these people demanded that you speak out and not be silent and then go bonkers and get angry with you for doing exactly that. I’m really feeling angry with these people because you don’t deserve that. Thank you, John, for being so, so courageous in speaking up for the truth and not bowing to what society wants you to believe and say. And JP is so cool! He’s really funny but absolutely right!

It's easier to understand when you see it as a cult behavior and the state as the object of worship. Of course all state worship requires a pinch of incense and a proclamation that Caesar is lord.

Awesome episode! I've been a Panhead since 1997, and I'm a Christian school teacher now. I am planning on using part of this video when I discuss the rise of Hitler, and how he moved the thoughts of an entire nation. I like to show students that history will repeat itself if we blindly accept what we're told.

Long time Skillet fan John. Like… I bought the album with the pan on the cover after a show… I just took my son to see you guys a few weeks ago (his idea actually. I had never told him about you guys until after he had already told me you were his favorite band).
To the point: I am beyond blessed that you have this podcast - this is the first I’ve listened to - both because I believe a voice with your heart (and I can expound more on what I think that is shortly) is exactly what the western church needs and because you talk about tough topics with a “real person” approach. Add in a guest like JP and I’m sold!
As to why I value my impression of your heart. When I heard you talk at the concert you boldly stuck to what you know is true and right according to your beliefs… but you also had such a loving and caring attitude that you encouraged people to disagree but love one another. As a long time follower of Christ, I spent wasted years as a fiery youth trying to debate people into believing. It simply doesn’t work (shocker). After years of my walk I have come to the place where I understand my job is to tell (or better yet SHOW) others about the way and love them regardless of the path they walk. That is what it means to follow Christ. I know you know all this because it is evident in the way you talk. At the end of it all you are still unashamed to stand boldly.
In the times we’re in, there are lots of churches not wanted to get canceled and are really taking a lukewarm everything is ok approach to the gospel. What I like about your stance is that you aren’t compromising your convictions, but also just because you strongly believe something, doesn’t mean you treat another human differently (or more common to bold stance Christians - poorly) than anyone else. Never change John.
As to my son… he currently is in the process of collecting what albums I didn’t have, and we got him both of your graphic novels and audiobook of your first book for Christmas this year. It was tough finding the first GN because it is out of print but we got em! I am hoping a grandparent gets him your new book but if I’m being honest… we’re gonna need an audiobook version of that too. He prefers audiobook format.

Hi, John! You’re probably not going to read or notice this comment, but I’ve been a Panhead since Comatose (2007). My profile pic in fact is my bass guitar that I’ve had since then and I learned to play because of you! Haha. Been so encouraged that you’re using your platform now to help others come back to the first love and to help people (myself included) solidify their understanding of the Gospel and biblical Christianity. As a rock fan, another musician that has gotten my respect the past few years is Vadim Pruzhanov (formerly of Dragonforce) who not only came to saving faith in Jesus, but even left the rock metal lifestyle to take care of his family and become an Evangelist! I think you two would have a great conversation since you both came from similar genres and are both world renown rockstars at some point. Would love to see such an episode on your podcast in the future!

The whole "fallow your heart" philosophy has led to post modernism and all the insanity we see to day. People are more deceived than ever now. That is why it needs to be resisted if we want a more Godly culture.
"Angry about so much stuff I know so little about" would have been a good title for the book. Or the podcast.
It's supposed to be "Bizarro World," not land. Also, the heart is deceitful. Don't follow your heart follow the God of the Bible.
Would love to see strong, biblical Christians provide some correction to the brand of "Christianity" that JP seems to follow. He constantly talks about "following our hearts" and things like that. Though he claims now to believe in God, it seems to be a very selective faith and not biblical faith.
Ummm. This guy isn’t totally in touch with the biblical mindset. Kinda disappointed why you didn’t at least ask JP about it. He is buying into the “follow your heart” and “be true to yourself” “Christianity” ….John-help a brother out and correct him or at least ask him about what he means by his statements! Let’s be fair on both sides and obey true justice!

He didn't used to be, but lately he's saying stuff that is at least semi-intelligent. Regardless of reason, Maher is acting like someone you could have a beer with and have a polite discussion, which is a huge improvement over the rest of the radical left today.
