    Ty for sharing, Keep us posted how they holding up.

      So far 1500 miles on them and the Toyo tires and it rides like a dream. I had 60k on my last set of bilsteins in my tundra so I know they’ll hold up pretty well.

    I have a 2011 Silverado LT extended cab 4x4 that I bought new. At about 100k I installed the Bilstein 4600 at all four corners and afterwards wished that I had done it when it was new. We moved to the Ozarks and have a lot of curvy roads. Before the Bilsteins I had to slow way down for the curves where, after the swap, I tested some of them and could take them comfortably at 10 over. I don't do it normally but know that I'm good if one sneaks up on me.
    I recommend doing the swap as early as possible. Don't suffer the OEM like I did. They're not worth it.

    Contrary to what Joe says, the front 5100’s are not for a stock height 2500Hd
    I posted the reason below. Information is directly from a tech at Bilstien.

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  6 дней назад

      They’re rated for 0” - 1.5” lift. 0” is stock. 20k miles and they’re working amazing. I would find a different tech to talk too there are thousands of guys running this set up. Right on bill steins website if you put in year make and model of truck it will select these and explain 0-1.5” lift for front and 0-1” lift for the rear shocks. These are the correct fit and application for this vehicle.

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  6 дней назад

      In the reply you posted below from billstein tech support they are referencing the B8-5100 adjustable shocks. In their reply they are correct if you fitted their adjustable shocks you would have to limit the travel using the provided collars and it would limit the performance of the B8-5100 adjustable platform. The part number I used and provided are non-adjustable, designed for 0”-1.5” lift. The compressed length is identical to the stock ranchos, and the extended length is 1.5” longer than the stock ranchos. The usable range of the shock is 1.5” more than stock. Fully compressed the suspension does not bottom the shock out, they operate in there designed range. I chose the 5100 over the 4600 because of the zinc plating. I’m in the northeast and need the additional corrosion protection. I also wanted the ability to crank my torsion bars up to level the truck and not affect the operating range of the shock. If someone lives in harsh environments and is going to want to at anytime level their truck these are the best option. If you want to leave completely stock and live in an area where rust isn’t an issue, the 4600 would be the choice to make. Each person has different needs for their vehicle. These fit my needs at stock ride height and I’m very satisfied with them. Hundreds of us on the forums run the same setup, it works. Choose to run whatever you want, I’m not posting this to banter back and forth. They are being used within their designed application. I truly think the tech support gave a general answer based on their adjustable 5100 platform and didn’t look into the direct application and non-adjustable shocks. Happy motoring.

    Great video and very helpful. How do you think they will hold up towing? I pull a small 24ft rv. About 7k lbs total. Have you towers with the new shocks ?

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  6 месяцев назад

      I have towed a 14k lb camper, 8k lb camper and 7500lb boat and these shocks are the ticket. They work fantastic, best upgrade you can do for the money on these trucks. If I buy another one I’ll put these on at zero miles.

    I’ve got a 24 sierra hd at4 the stock ride is horrible, did these help? Any changes in towing you’ve noticed? I’ve got a 9k lb bumper travel trailer I use with it.

      Night and day for me. 2 things get rid of the rancho’s and get rid of the Goodyears. Both gone and this truck rides like a Cadillac

    Why not spray the frame with fluid film?

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  10 месяцев назад +2

      Gm heavy duty trucks come coated in cosmoline. Fluid film dissolves cosmoline, and will cause issues. So I bought that and use cosmoline spray on the frame to not void any warranty’s or cause issues.

    Are these adjustable shocks if you want to raise the front of your truck to level it if you want to?

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  9 месяцев назад

      No they are standard length that allow for a 1.5” level. They also make ones for lifted rigs. Nick Scovel at cover Motorsport can help you out and walk you through the options. He was very helpful to me.

    Are they stiffer than factory? Torn between the Bilstein 5100’s and Fox 2.0’s. I’ve owned the Fox 2.0’s before on a 2017 F250 and they were smooth when new but got rough after about 10K miles. I’ve heard conflicting reviews as to which ones provide smoother rides. Some say 5100’s others say Fox 2.0’s. I may just try these and if I don’t like them replace with Fox 2.0 which cost twice as much.

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  11 месяцев назад +4

      They are equal in stiffness. They are progressive resistance. So the large bumps you still feel but there’s zero after bounce. They calm right down. For the money less than $400 these were perfect for me… if you want something real premium yeah a fox 2.5 or knight or something fancy would give a way more plush ride.

    Need so.e clarification. I just called Bilstein about the front shocks and they told me that you must have a 1.5 inch lift/leveling kit in order to use on a 2024 gmc sierra 2500. They are even advertised as such on their website. Obviosly they worked on your 2024. Any thoughts or do you think tech rep at bilstein was just reading off the notes posted on website. It states " for 1.5 lift" unlike the rears that state " for trucks with 0-1.5 lift" . Thoughts?

    • @Poconojoeg
      @Poconojoeg  6 месяцев назад

      They work perfect. It’s for trucks with 0-1.5” lift. Stock is zero and in range of what they are designed for.

      Thank you for contacting Bilstein of America. I apologize for the delay in getting back to you, we have been having some issues with our Tech/ Warranty Support email inbox.
      I will need to confirm 5100 series available for your application. However, utilizing 5100's on a stock ride height vehicle is not recommended.
      There is a common misconception that the 5100 series is a stronger or more powerful shock than the 4600 series. This is simply not the case.
      The 5100 is designed to bring the performance of our 4600 series to lifted platforms. In order to run a 5100 series on a vehicle
      with stock ride height you will have to limit the travel length of the shock, and that can affect the performance.
      The primary difference with the 5100 series is the finish as well as being longer to accommodate a lift kit.
