thank you! I was ready to tear apart this ‘24 ultimate! Was driving me nuts ! And I also found out I have the high idle on the cruise control button. That’s awesome! didnt know!
And why do you NEED HIGH IDLE for Cold Starts & Extended Idle Periods.. Because Diesel's don't have spark, they ignite fuel from compression and heat, and when she's cold or just idling slow it doesn't have the heat to fully burn the fuel causing leftover fuel to continue to slowly wash the cylinders, and start diluting your oil and a fast pace.. And for those that run long oil changes.. this will destroy your cyl walls, and bearing throughout the engine as fuel kill the viscosity and shear of oil super bad..
@clutch_kick187 Thank you for this explanation. Dumb question, Is it best to leave the high idle option on during the winter months since I do have that option on my 2024 Sierra 2500?
Do you have a power tailgate? Mine only drops down. A coworker has a new 24 LTZ and his has a power up function. Mine is the pro tailgate, so not sure if that makes a difference or not? The Chevy is a 1 piece tailgate.
So it is my understanding only Chevrolet offers the power up function in a non-multi pro tailgate. So if you have a GMC or a Chevrolet with a multi pro, you have power down, but you will not have power up.
What’s crazy is my 2015 and my dad’s 2023 ram 2500 cummins have the manual high idle feature with cruise control factory. I don’t have to purchase anything to do it lol

this only works on HD models?
Why do I keep seeing this emblem in videos but what is the truck emblem above to 140 on mph
Do you mean the icon at the top of the DIC above the speedometer? That tells you which seats do and do not have the seatbelts buckled.
@@ColoreDiVita I don’t have that show up in my truck oddly. 2022 RST refreshed model
@@RunWhatYaBrung Maybe it is newer. I have a 2024 and don't know about the older trucks as I wasn't looking at them then.
Your gauge panel LH side has the coolant temp in numerals - is that a GMC feature only? I don't find that on my 2024 3500HD LTZ.
That’s trans temp
Does the high idle kick on when you remote start ?
Elevated will

I have a 2022 High County and the tailgate is powered Up and Down.
@@ryank2365 but is it the multirow gate that folds twice and has like speakers in it probably not that’s the difference
Not the Multi Row. It is GMC only.
Great info. Did your Sierra come equipped with the Fast Idle, or did you have your dealership update for you?
Mine came with it

So if my truck doesn’t have high idle right now, can I pay the dealership to activate it?
Yes you can, Google, GM upfitter UF3. One of them say fast, idle print that and bring it to the dealer with you.
@@BSUL92 thanks brotha, did the trick.
@@Tommac5931how much did it cost to enable the high idle at the dealership?
@@Broncort1 I had fast idle install at my dealership last week charged me $330
